Our holiday workshops range from the all time favourite, 'Blood Brothers', the hugely successful 'Matilda', the much loved 'Mamma Mia', the hilarious 'Shrek', the stunning 'Les Miserable', and the exciting recent addition to our selection, 'Come From Away'. The workshop tutors will teach the theatre lovers all they need to know about their chosen show, including tailor made script, songs and choreography. All workshops begin with a professional physical and vocal warm - up and can end with a question and answer session, giving the students a chance to get a real insight into the show and life in the industry. You read it right - we are turning 30 this year! To celebrate GAK's 30th anniversary and our fresh look, we're going to delve into our history and how we grew into one of the top music retailers in the UK. It's been a long journey from very humble beginnings to getting to where we are today. And it all started with one man and a market stall. 1992 HUMBLE BEGINNINGS It's been a long journey from very humble beginnings to getting to where we are today. And it all started with one man and a market stall. 1995 BRITPOP EXPLOSION Britpop bands like Oasis, Blur, Suede and Pulp were all electric guitar-based, markedly increasing the demand for the instrument. As the popularity of the guitar flourished, so did the business. 2000 FRESH EXPANSION The business would begin to flourish and grow at a seriously quick pace. Bigger and bigger premises were needed to keep up with the ever-growing amount of stock that needed shipping to customers. 2010 BRAVE NEW WORLD The Internet was a lot like the Wild West back in its early days. By having the foresight and the initiative to delve into this new frontier of sales, we were able to get ahead of the curve and grow alongside the Internet boom. 2016 TEA TO MD From GAK's early days, Max McKellar was helping drive the business forward as it entered unexplored territory. Today, he's leading the company as our Managing Director - a long way to come from cleaning guitars and making tea! 1994 SETTING THE TONE From the beginning, the store was a down-to-earth and unpretentious place to buy your music gear. Everyone was welcome and they were free to try out whatever they wanted. 1996 BEYOND THE STORE A flat above the store had its kitchen and bathroom converted to a mail-order room and office respectively. To spread the word about GAK's Mail Order service, print ads would be run in popular magazines such as Guitarist and Sound On Sound. 2002 THE INTERNET AGE We were one of the first music retailers in the country to go online and have an e-commerce store. Our customers could buy their dream piece of gear, have it brought straight to their house and receive the same friendly service you'd get into the store. 2014 DESTINATION HUB With help from the eye-catching print ads and the enormous success of the website, word spread about what an exciting place the GAK store is to visit. You can walk in and discover something new around each corner. 2022 30 YEARS AND BEYOND As we reach the major milestone that is our 30th birthday, we are beyond excited to unveil the brand new look and feel of the GAK brand. We're looking forward to what the next thirty years and beyond have in store for us.

It started when I began to learn more about the conditions for egg production and I realised that free-range wasn’t the wonderful happy situation that I thought it to be. The standards for labelling products as free-range are not as high as the marketing would suggest. (I am of course speaking in general terms and I know that this won’t apply to all farms, but it appears to apply to the majority). As a vegetarian at that time I’d already thought that I was quite ethically aware with what I bought, and it dawned on me that there must be many other people buying and supporting products that they also think are ethically sound, and that these people too may be interested to know more. Passion for performing arts! As a professional dancer, this prompted me to come up with an idea for a show to raise awareness on global issues and ethical living - not just animal welfare, but also climate change and human rights. However I realised that if the audience are inspired to make ethical changes or learn more, simply watching a show would not give them the tools to do that. Hence the creation of Impact – awesome events and activities to inspire change, with incredible live performances, the tools needed to live ethically and fun ways to implement everyday ethical living even for the busiest of lives! Don’t be put off by the heavy topics we’re dealing with, our events are fun and uplifting, with a vision of making positive changes. I’m not claiming to be perfect, nor am I trying to preach. I’m still learning too. I just know our planet is wonderful, as is the human race and all life that shares Earth with us.

It speaks to the eco-systems that we exist in in the companies we work in, the people we work with, lead and inspire. It also manifests in our personal circles, our friends, family and the communities we exist in. The mandala embodies a truly universal principle that is all embracing, regardless of the foundation of one’s belief. It symbolises the connections that exist between us and everything that surrounds us. More than anything it represents Wholeness and our African value of uBuntu. This is what drove us to form Beyond Coaching in 2009, when 21 like-minded coaches and trainers pulled together in the possibility of forming a coaching and training movement. One that is powered by Consciousness and committed to transforming the face of leadership and business. Rienzo Colpo was one of those founders he navigated the metamorphosis of that Beyond Coaching, to the lean and powerful force that it is today. Dani was born and raised in the metropolitan city of São Paulo, Brazil where she resided for 18 years. In this bustling city, she explored dance, acting, bodyworks, music, and spirituality from a young age with the encouragement of her parents who are also deeply connected to spirituality and the arts. Being from a mixed-race of Asian and European backgrounds Dani always felt she was neither Japanese enough to belong in the Asian communities in her own country and was always regarded as 'the Japanese girl' in the 'non-Asian' groups in school. This outcast dilemma led her to dive deeper into Yoga and individuality where she learned to accept herself and also follow her own calling to explore the world. At 18 she moved to Dublin which became her home base from travels around the globe and the city where she first established herself as a Yoga teacher and Spiritual facilitator. Over the years Dani explored the world to learn the many different ways we can connect to each other and the Spirit. She believes that in order to find freedom and flow in life we must ReWild ourselves to our original state by connecting to the Spirit - our source of Wildness and Inner Knowing. By caring for our bodies, minds, and spirit with the support of a safe, diverse and sacred community we can not only ReWild our inner worlds into a healthier state but also ReWild the world we live into its natural state of flow and interconnection with all its living beings. Dani can be found deep into books, foraging in the wild, skinny dipping, pilgrimaging across the Earth, sharing music, and making people laugh at her silliness.
