The House With the Blue door drawings come from my love for the coast in Lincolnshire. I draw everyday in my sketchbooks using watercolours and inks. My drawing style is unique. It’s very loose, sketchy and full of colour. I like people to look at my work and see something that brings back memories or reminds them of this lovely area of the country. The name The House With the Blue Door is the name of my chalet on the Humberston Fitties. I use my artwork to decorate it, and next year I hope to use it as an art gallery and for art workshops. Our mission is to provide young people (7-13 years old) with the opportunity to learn about art history in depth via hands-on experiences that bring subjects to life in a fun and engaging manner. Whether your child loves painting and drawing, has a fascination with puzzles and riddles, or has recently started to develop strong views about the world, Vincent and Frida will help to cultivate in them a lifelong curiosity about the art they see around them. Our courses will teach students a number of valuable skills including the ability to closely and carefully study artworks, analyse visual information, draw connections with other sociopolitical topics, question historical beliefs and form their own opinions on a broad range of subjects. The immersive and fun courses will run during school term time, with 9 sessions per term. UPCOMING EVENTS Our classes can be booked as a trial lesson (subject to availability). Trial lessons demonstrate our course structure and allow students and parents alike to experience what makes our teaching methods so compelling and unique. Each taster session will focus on a different topic. Schedule for the Autumn term 2020 (starting on 3rd October ): Art of Mesopotamia (oldest naturalistic image of a human) Ancient Egypt (importance of afterlife) Ancient Rome (grandure and opulance) Ancient Egypt (first portraits) Byzantium (creating heaven on Earth) Ancient China ( guóhuà or the beauty of stillness) Medieval Art (bestiaries and magical creatures) Gothic Art (stained glass to dazzle and enchant) Overview of Early Art (recap previous learning and have fun playing games) Sessions will be held online on ZOOM and face-to-face in The Observatory, 64 Marchmont St, London, WC1N 1AB. This beautiful photography gallery is located a short walk away from Russell Square station, and offers a wonderful, bright space for adults to wait whilst their children are exploring the world of art and houses a welcoming cafe .

The Forest of Avon is one of England's Community Forests which were established many years ago with the aim of connecting people with trees locally. The Forest of Avon is not a single 'forest' but the combination of the many trees and woodlands across the West of England, formerly Avon - the four counties of Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. So far, well over a million trees have been planted in the Forest of Avon and many woodlands and access networks have been improved and maintained. You may see 'Forest of Avon' signs on your local walks showing where we have supported landowners to improve or plant new woodland and where they support public access for our lovely walks. As part of a network of community forests we can source funding such as through our current Trees for Climate project, Defra funded through England's Community Forests. We want to enable as many people as possible to access and enjoy the benefits of our trees and community woodlands.

Currently designed for children aged 4-6; The Rastamouse Rocksteady Reggae school delivers elements of the Music National Curriculum in a variety of formats - from one day workshops through to a comprehensive ten-week programme incorporated into school timetables. Developed with music practitioner Sally Greaves with the support of The Rastamouse Company, the team at EMI and the Triborough Music Hub of Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster City; the Rocksteady programme has been piloted and evaluated in a number of London schools since April 2012. Drawing inspiration from the stories of Michael De Souza and Genevieve Webster, the CBeebies television programme, and incorporating the uplifting music of Andrew Kingslow; the Rocksteady music project puts a variety of instruments into the hands of children to provide a thoroughly cross-curricular experience to excite and engage young minds.
