Civil Defence Ireland is an organisation comprising almost entirely of volunteers. It’s prime role is to give aid and assistance in time of emergencies in support of the professional emergency services. Members attend classes in many disciplines, such as life saving skills, First Aid, Search and Rescue, Fire Fighting, Water Rescue, Radiation Monitoring, Radio Communications, and looking after the welfare of those evacuated during an emergency. Civil Defence has 4,500 volunteer members throughout Ireland. Dublin Civil Defence encompasses all Dublin local authorities, drawing members from all areas of the county. Dublin Civil Defence supports hundreds of community events throughout the year. These include large events such as air shows, tall ships, concerts and festivals, sports events. We also support smaller local events such as parades.

Our mission is to provide young people (7-13 years old) with the opportunity to learn about art history in depth via hands-on experiences that bring subjects to life in a fun and engaging manner. Whether your child loves painting and drawing, has a fascination with puzzles and riddles, or has recently started to develop strong views about the world, Vincent and Frida will help to cultivate in them a lifelong curiosity about the art they see around them. Our courses will teach students a number of valuable skills including the ability to closely and carefully study artworks, analyse visual information, draw connections with other sociopolitical topics, question historical beliefs and form their own opinions on a broad range of subjects. The immersive and fun courses will run during school term time, with 9 sessions per term. UPCOMING EVENTS Our classes can be booked as a trial lesson (subject to availability). Trial lessons demonstrate our course structure and allow students and parents alike to experience what makes our teaching methods so compelling and unique. Each taster session will focus on a different topic. Currently designed for children aged 4-6; The Rastamouse Rocksteady Reggae school delivers elements of the Music National Curriculum in a variety of formats - from one day workshops through to a comprehensive ten-week programme incorporated into school timetables. Developed with music practitioner Sally Greaves with the support of The Rastamouse Company, the team at EMI and the Triborough Music Hub of Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster City; the Rocksteady programme has been piloted and evaluated in a number of London schools since April 2012. Drawing inspiration from the stories of Michael De Souza and Genevieve Webster, the CBeebies television programme, and incorporating the uplifting music of Andrew Kingslow; the Rocksteady music project puts a variety of instruments into the hands of children to provide a thoroughly cross-curricular experience to excite and engage young minds.
