A fun and friendly dance school offering over 60 classes per week in Highland, Lyrical, Jazz, Commercial, Acro, Musical Theatre/Drama, Hip Hop/Street Dance, RAD ballet, Tap, Cheer, Alixa flexibility and SQA Approved Qualifications in Dance. We also offer pilates, yoga and ballet classes for adults. Pupils can dance just for fun or work through the UKA and RAD exam syllabi. They can also progress their dance education further with the option of SQA units and awards. Pupils can take part in shows, festivals and competitions or attend one of the dance camps and workshops during the school holidays. We look forward to welcoming you to one of our classes.

What does Mamarracho mean? 1) Something that is ‘Not perfect’ Lu is a freelance Drama consultant, director and producer. As founder of Grupo Mamarracho Educational Entertainment (Est. 2014) Lu runs regular training courses in the UK and abroad. She has written original theatre plays for children and adults and choreographs dance and movement for external companies. Lu is also a lyricist and singer. She is married with 2 kids and lives in Bristol, United Kingdom. 2) The word comes from the arabian ‘Bouffon’ meaning the one who was allowed to entertain the king. 3) In some Latinamerican countries it means the signature (autograph) people ask from you when you become famous.

Well, we have been friends forever. We met at drama school in 1991 but only started working together last year C: And we have the pandemic to thank. We both realised the possibilities of working online. Reaching more people and of course making it affordable. Kidslingo’s aim is to inspire young children, from birth to 12 years, to love languages from the very start of their language learning journeys. Working with schools (curriculum classes and clubs) and nurseries, in community venues, private homes and online, Kidslingo is a passionate believer in exposing children to languages from a young age. The multi-award-winning, CAA gold accredited language programme uses a fun and interactive methodology of songs, actions, rhymes, game play, storytelling and drama, all delivered by expert linguists. Each week we are privileged to witness thousands of little ones enthusiastically embrace Spanish and French and develop amazing linguistic skills.

Alexandra was born in the USA and spent her formative years in London and Glasgow. Her musical abilities were recognised from a very young age and she began having regular piano and vocal lessons at the age of four. Alexandra had the honour of being the youngest singing student to be accepted at the prestigious Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. Whilst studying there, she benefited from singing lessons, vocal workshops and master-classes with both formidable voice teachers and visiting leading professionals. This early exposure to such a high standard of coaching was a great source of inspiration for an aspiring young soprano. Alexandra was invited to attend the Association Of Teachers Of Singing training course for four consecutive years, which provided her with a solid foundation for developing her own teaching technique which she loves to share in her own teaching lessons. Having always had a special love of Scotland, it seemed to be a natural progression for her to complete her studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow (now known as The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) where Alexandra was awarded her Bachelor of Music with Honours Degree. Now based in Central Scotland and accessible from Falkirk, Stirling, Glasgow amd Edinburgh, Alexandra enjoys working as a freelance singer (soprano) and singing teacher. She is currently delighted to be working with Music in Hospitals and Care (MiHC) with whom she has regular concert engagements and tours.

wollaton arts festival

The first Wollaton Arts Festival was in 2016 with a 4 day event bringing creative arts opportunities to community spaces in Wollaton. We have since built on this to develop further creative experiences for people of all ages, through our Wollaton Art Space and extending the festival to 9 days of activities. We link with the local schools, artists, venues, groups and open spaces to create a diverse programme for all. There are opportunities for people to come together to share food, music, singing, drama, photography and varied creative art activities. We have been lucky enough to work with lots of artists and creative practitioners, as well as local community, culture, nature and heritage groups.
