This begins with the success of the amazing team at Spring Common Academy and encouragement from others within our community to increase our system leadership role and spread the reach of high quality special education provision and training. In 2014 Spring Common School developed as a Teaching School status with a National Leader in Education and in 2015 designated a national support school status. In January 2016 Spring Common School became Spring Common Academy and successfully became a Multi Academy Trust called Spring Common Academy Trust with intent to grow as a successful organisation. In June 2016 Spring Common Academy trust was selected from a national field to develop the special school project at the new Community in Cambridgeshire at Alconbury Weald. This project called Alconbury Weald education campus moved to milestone 3 which is detailed design in partnership with Cambridgeshire Local Authority, Atkins global and Morgan Sindall Construction in April 2021. It is the intention of our trustees that this new special school be named as Prestley Wood Academy. This new special school will be mixed age 3 to 19 for 150 pupils. In November 2018 Spring Common Academy was judged outstanding overall Ofsted report date 18 December 2018, building on the hard work of the staff team and trustees. During 2020 – 2021 a significant Capital build project was undertaken to improve hygiene and disability access to the building in partnership with Cambridgeshire Local Authority, Oxbury chartered surveyors and Jeakins Weir. Following a period of transition from September 2020 in January 2021 Dr Kim Taylor OBE became the full time Executive Head/ CEO for the development of the Trust and Julia McIntosh appointed as Head of School at Spring Common Academy by trustees. In April 2021 the members and trustees agree to change the name of the Trust to Horizons Education Trust with the prospect of more special schools joining the trust. In May 2021 the former TBAP Unity Academy transferred into the trust as Riverside Meadows Academy with two sites at St Neots and Wisbech as an SEMH special school. This school was judged good and report date was 3 July 2019. Between May to June 2021 emergency works identified prior to academy transfer completed on the Algores Way site at Wisbech to support the safety of staff and pupils. Significant ICT infrastructure installed on both sites to enable staff and pupils to access wireless using Eastnet supported by ICT Services with new email domains. In May 2021 The Fenland Education Campus which includes a new SEMH special school for Wisbech moved to Milestone 3 of detailed design with Cambridgeshire Local Authority Atkins Global and Kier. The site identified in Wisbech will be for 60 placement SEMH special school.

The Bonny Academy offers courses based around vocal coaching, performance & music theory and is aiming towards a future of training for roles in the events industry. There are vocal coaching subscriptions available, as well as online vocal courses. Vocal coaching & music tutoring is available via video call & face to face. The Bonny Academy has recently become a registered centre with awarding body Qualsafe. You can now access a wider range of courses including: Health & Safety at Work, Risk Assessments, Safeguarding, Fire Safety, Education & Training Level 3 and much more. Keep an eye on information about future courses such as First Aid at Work & SIA. Some of these courses have e-learning available in the shop on this website and, in the training section, you’ll find a full list of courses I currently offer. You’ll also find links to sign up to courses that I’ll be holding. All Qualsafe courses are certified qualifications & are regulated by Ofqual. Any Qualsafe qualfication that you do with me can be added to your digital learning record. Your learning record holds all of your qualifications from 2012 and can be accessed by educational institutions and employers, so you can make sure your credentials are proven. I am working hard on offering live/online workshops linked with live events services: volunteering, awareness of vulnerable groups, disability recognition, ALN/SEND & much more! The Bonny Academy courses & workshops will be accredited so you can add the hours to your Continued Professional Development files. The quarterly online vocal workshop already has accreditation & is worth 2 CPD hours, so make sure you sign up with your email to find out dates for those! What we do As a charity, we rely on the generosity of grant-giving organisations and individuals to enable us to deliver the following: Policy and Change We are leaders within the youth sector and we are actively engaged with local government, the police, and other stakeholders to shape policy across Bucks. Our annual conference is a crucial opportunity for key representatives from the wider charity and statutory sectors to come together to discuss and share ideas on how we can make an impact on the lives of young people. Intervention and Inspiration We deliver a wide range of programmes including holistic support for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people, employability and enrichment programmes such as The Inspiration Programme, leadership and life skills initiatives, as well as delivering national programmes such as National Citizen Service and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Many participants are signposted to other Action4Youth programmes on a pathway to opportunities they did not believe were possible through disadvantage or disability. Leadership and Training We provide valuable leadership and training to our membership organisations: around 70 local voluntary youth groups so that they can operate effectively to safeguard the young people of their communities. Courses include safeguarding, diversity and inclusion, health and safety and others. Outdoor Learning Additionally, we operate an outstanding outdoor learning centre, Caldecotte Xperience, in Milton Keynes which offers a range of adventure learning activities that deliver measurable improvements in educational attainment, as well as building teamwork, bonding and trust. It is the leading centre in the region for young people with complex needs, with SEND trained staff and specialist equipment that enable those with disabilities to learn new skills in a safe and supportive environment.

In Japanese, Ippo Ippo is written as 一歩一歩。 一 is the Japanese character for 'one'. 歩 is the character for 'step'. This makes 一歩一歩 literally 'one step one step'. In other words: 'step by step' or 'one step at a time'! The choice of name came about partly simply because of the nice, bouncy ring that 'Ippo Ippo' has to it. However, more important is the meaning. At Ippo Ippo, learning Japanese is less about sprinting to memorise every vocab item, grammar point or kanji, and more about the process of putting one step forward at a time, finding ways to have fun and explore through the language. While there are times when you may want to up the pace, in general, a more sustainable approach is encouraged, helping you to steadily build confidence and keep up motivation in the long run. 日本語の勉強、一歩一歩頑張りましょうね！ Nihongo no benkyō, ippo ippo ganbarimashō ne!
