Real Life Learning was born in February 2019 with a mission to support young people and adults with special learning needs and disabilities. Fast forward to 2021 and a new life beyond Covid-19 and we have evolved to support people with disabilities in work and study. We work in partnership with other health and education professionals and disability support organisations to bring you the best bespoke support available. We are based in Haslington near Crewe in South Cheshire and support clients across the North West and the UK. Our most remote client lives in Oban in the North of Scotland. We work face to face, in the virtual world and by the good old telephone! Real Life Learning was founded by Rob Pickersgill. Rob has spent his career working in Further, Higher and Adult Education and specialises in coaching and training clients to manage their disability to achieve their potential. Rob loves travelling in the family caravan to remote parts of the UK and France with his family and Bailey, the resident Cocker Spaniel. We like to reward our clients with our 'Refer a friend' scheme. If you'd like to recommend a friend or family member to us we will reward you with £50 cash when they sign up to a support programme.

The Bobby Trust began life in 1998 as one man and one van, working out of a police station. It was funded by Hampshire Police together with Hampshire County Council. With a mixture of personalised advice and practical assistance, the scheme set out to help victims of burglary and the vulnerable to feel safe again, and at the same time, reduce the risk of repeat crimes. The fitters could replace locks, fit security chains and smoke alarms, and advise the clients on the best ways to keep their homes secure.

With over 90% of our team made up of disabled people, our aim is to create inclusive communities for all. Our journey started as a blog, set up to create positive change around how disabled people are seen and valued. This was inspired by one of our founding members, who always has a smile on his face! After reaching thousands of people online, we decided to take our message further.

Baginton Fields School, Coventry admits secondary aged students with severe and complex SEND. The school commissioned Links Therapy Company to provide specific advice, support and expertise to further develop a newly implemented curriculum for students with ASD. Links Therapy provided a bespoke support programme including student observations and assessments, staff tutorials and feedback sessions that focused on personalising best practice for individual students within the context of the emerging curriculum. Staff expertise was enhanced considerably as a result of mutual professional respect and aspiration to provide optimum opportunity for student progression. I was particularly impressed by the extensive expertise demonstrated by Links Therapy colleagues who were flexible and professional throughout their time at Baginton Fields. We decided on an initial consultation and a follow up of 6 "hands on" sessions. These were carried out weekly on a 1:1 basis. The practitioners were very professional and liaised with school staff throughout. We were provided with a detailed report after the intervention and will continue to implement the detailed guidance. I would definitely recommend Links Therapy and would use them again in future. Being a small charity our therapists are at a greater risk of becoming isolated from their profession. Links Therapy company have provided a link for our therapists to discuss any professional queries they may have. Their role has developed to the point where they are now helping us to develop and take our service forward. Their input has been essential to us now having an Occupational therapy team in place. There friendly and professional approach to their work has impressed us greatly and look forward to continuing our relationship with them. All our pupils have special educational needs, some of these can be quite complex. We’re one of the biggest community platform in the South of Scotland, and we work with our partners to use culture as means to improve the lives of our community who are experiencing high levels of social and rural isolation. As a unique social co-operative, we have over 170 voluntary members who contribute to our social model through volunteering, sponsorship or advocacy. Anyone can join our membership organisation. We have just taken over the Loreburn Hall in the centre of Dumfries which is a temporary cultural space, including an 80 seat cinema, 50 seat cabaret lounge, 50 seat black box theatre and a main hall with a capacity of 1200 Our work takes place in schools, residential homes, cafes, car parks, swimming pools and in all sorts of locations throughout our region. We believe that there are barriers that prevent members of our community taking part in culture and we do everything we can to deliver socially driven projects that help to improve the cultural health of our region through our seasons of projects which aim to increase resilience by connecting our community through our cultural programmes and services. Our signature projects include a diverse range of community arts based programmes and iconic place-making projects including our annual winter festival, Carlisle Fringe, Dumfries Carnival, Le Haggis, High Tea, Queer Haggis, Dumfries Youth Theatre, Dumfries Community Choir and Producers of the Future. Every year we deliver more than 300 shows across our festival programmes, as well as weekly community arts sessions to over 100 participants, creative industry training for emerging artists and the sector across Dumfries & Galloway, and traineeships in producing across our major projects. Our cultural skills development programme is one of the largest of its kind in the UK. At the centre of our work is the belief that we can use culture to connect people, we advocate that culture is good for our wellbeing and health, and that art is a form of human expression and creativity. Our network of over 100 associate artists and producers includes performance makers, producers, artists and collaborators who believe in the power of social change.

The CRUMBS Project changes the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged adults through ‘training for independence.’ From our training centre in Bournemouth, we deliver Hospitality based programmes, endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality, in Food Production & Service, Housekeeping, Administration, and Digital skills.  We work with around 30 adults a year aged between 18-70 who have learning disabilities, mental health conditions, stabilised addictions or acquired brain injuries. We educate and support trainees to develop professional skills for work and personal skills to live more independently. Over 90% of our trainees move into employment at the end of their training programmes and all gain the confidence and self-esteem to be more independent.
