Welcome to Moo Music York a weekly music and multi-sensory group for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Music has been shown to be an essential part of every child’s development and at Moo Music York we strongly believe in the benefits of music, movement and creative play. Using puppets, props, bubbles, instruments, and our specially written Moo tunes, we aid children’s development while having lots of fun. Our interactive classes are designed around our Moo Music songs developed by Early Years Educators and professional musicians. They are catchy and uplifting and many cover early years topics so the children are learning while having fun. At Moo Music York our sessions are baby and child led and our team is proud to provide a warm and judgment free environment that is a great way to make new friends – both for the children and the adults too. It is extremely rewarding to watch the children grow in confidence week by week building their social skills, physical abilities, speech and language skills, memory, coordination skills and musical ability and enjoyment. In a typical Moo session you can expect to sing, dance, dress up, explore, learn and play. Moo is all about having fun and connecting with your little one so the more you put in the more you get out. Each week we follow a different theme, go on all sorts of adventures and use new and exciting props to encourage imaginative play. In each session we have a mix of old and new songs. We repeat a few songs every week as children love familiarity and it is amazing how quickly they learn the songs by heart.

Watertrain is the predominant provider of high-quality technical training and qualification programmes to the water sector. Watertrain has been the leading provider of apprenticeships and other qualifications to the water utility sector since 2007. Watertrain sees its role as helping employers find effective solutions to immediate training needs and longer term staff development – whether through knowledge and/or competency qualifications or bespoke training interventions. Watertrain are experts in the development of nationally accredited qualifications that have been designed and written following consultation with sector employers to ensure that the resultant qualification is fit for purpose and meets their organisational needs. In conjunction with CABWI, the water sector awarding body, Watertrain developed the Level 4 Diploma in Water Industry Operations and Management. This provides an excellent grounding for graduate entrants to the sector as well as an effective progression route for those individuals that maybe in their first line management role and need to gain more knowledge and understanding at a higher and wider level. Watertrain has also now developed, again in conjunction with CABWI and wide consultation with employers, 5 new Level 3 combined qualifications. The evidence portfolio Watertrain has designed for each qualification can also be used to generate the competency and knowledge evidence to achieve the 70% required for End Point Assessment in the Water Process Technician Apprenticeship Standard. Watertrain also has an excellent competency assessment tool that can help identify current weaknesses in the level of knowledge being applied by operational teams across your business. We began our journey from a point of adversity. In 2013, after witnessing a family member suffer significant trauma, we decided to look at ways in which we could use our experience, to help young people in difficult and challenging situations. We began by volunteering, I (Simon) volunteered for the youth service where I worked with young people on referrals from Childrens Services for a year. Louise began by training to be a breastfeeding peer support worker and through this met inspirational healthcare professionals, who signposted her to further training. Now a qualified R.N. and holding a BSc Honours degree she has fulfilled her ambition. As modern nursing adopts a more holistic approach, we began to draw on this knowledge to provide a more valuable service to the young people we work with. We began to study experts in neuroscience who had a particular interest in music like Dr Wendy Mcghee, and Dr Ani Patel, as well as studying the strengths and weaknesses of using technology to support our sessions. We found that Music in general is a powerful and versatile way of supporting young people with not only their development of essential skills, like listening and team work, but over the years, we have recognised a particular advantage when supporting young people who may have become disengaged with education, or have Specific Learning Difficulties. We have a strong philosophy that health and education go hand in hand and we are proud to harness music and technology to share that message, something which is unique to us, that could not have happened without facing our challenges and informing our own personal development.

I oversee Erasmus work-based internships from all over Europe. I also write large funding applications to give local people the opportunity to experience different cultures, learn new working ethics and enhance their employability skills. I sit on the UK board for ECVET (European Accreditation for Vocational Education and Training) and travel to different European destinations to discuss and devise methodologies to further enhance and improve Erasmus procedures and programmes. Ethos I believe that travel and experiential learning are paramount to one’s development. This includes tourism that focuses on history, culture, heritage, outdoor and therapeutic activities.
