The Digital Brand Boss

the digital brand boss

London

Have you ever felt like you offer more value than your business reflects? Have you ever felt like you have so much more to offer but do not know how to position yourself or your business? If this sounds familiar, then I am thrilled you found your way here. My name is Sarah also known as THE DIGITAL BRAND BOSS and I have helped countless creatives, small business owners and, coaches like you communicate the full value of what they do. About Sarah I am a passionate serial entrepreneur: a brand strategist, a graphic designer, a luxury wedding planner, a fashion designer, a chef and a coach for purpose-driven individuals on a mission. I am extremely keen on equipping and empowering new creatives, coaches and small business owners with the tools and strategies they need to turn their passion into a profitable, irresistible and sustainable brand. My Story My journey towards being a brand strategist and coach dates back to my university days. While at university, I realised friends and family would often use me as the sounding board for their projects and ideas. The more problems I was able to help them solve, the stronger my desire to learn about what it takes to build a sustainable brand was. I also discovered I was very good at branding. I started designing posters, flyers, and logos and got self-taught in the use of colours, appropriate fonts, text alignment among other branding design skills. In addition to my natural innate creative ability, I received my bachelor’s degree in Business Studies and Music from the university of Liverpool. It’s time to show up, step up and build a brand that you are passionate about. - THE DIGITAL BRAND BOSS Fast forward a few years later, I took on the volunteer role of team lead for the media and production department of a charity (my local church) of about 200 members. It was then that my desire to build brands for a living grew and took root. This drive led me to get certified as a brand strategist and coach. The more I learned, the more I realised the power of strategic branding in bringing clarity, direction and growth to businesses. As someone who has always experienced the world through creating, I started my first business during my first year at university on a part-time basis, in 2012. So, believe me when I tell you I understand what starting a business from scratch requires. Some of the businesses I launched during this period included a catering business, a clothing line and a luxury design card company. Like most business owners who are just starting out, I wasn’t sure how to build my brand and grow my business. Instead, I was focused on having pretty colours, a logo and a social media page, which from experience I learnt are not adequate in getting you the required results from your business. It was only after I started really diving into learning how to successfully build a solid and sustainable brand, that I started seeing real results. I went from feeling disjointed and confused to starting a business that I absolutely love and I’m passionate about.

7EE,

About the Academy Our academy was established in Great Britain in 2012, its founder is a professional photographer, documentary filmmaker and graphic designer Mariusz Śmiejek, who published his photos in magazines around the world, winner of many awards, including the National Geographic magazine award for the best photojournalism. With a great passion for sharing knowledge, and a lot of experience in conducting workshops outdoors and in the studio, we offer intensive weekend photography workshops and courses for beginners, intermediate users of digital cameras. We also run several-day workshops for advanced photographers who are thinking about the next steps towards professional photography and for enthusiasts who want to learn how professionals work, listen to their tips and learn their secrets. We provide a wonderful, cordial atmosphere in an intimate group of positively "freaky" photography enthusiasts, which usually results in long acquaintances. Our workshops are prepared in such a way that in small groups and in a nice atmosphere, each participant has the best opportunity to learn the secrets of photography. The program is prepared in such a way that you can learn to use various photography and post-production techniques on your own photos under the guidance of award-winning and appreciated professionals with experience in Poland and abroad. After our workshops, you will look at the world around you in a completely different way and you will start consciously pressing the shutter button of your cameras, which will have a significant impact on the quality of your photos.

Liverpool

After 34 years working as a graphic designer/illustrator and photographer, I made a career change in 2018 to concentrate on my love of art, crafts, making and printing. Natural forms/plants, landscapes and architecture are my favourite subjects to work with but nothing is out of the question if it inspires me. Gel plate monoprinting allows me to work with all of these in various combinations, printing onto gift tags, envelopes, glass, wood, fabric and large format paper. I also eco-print using leaves, flowers and natural plant/vegetable dyes, but am also a big fan of using commercial small batch dyes for quick results with fabrics. The ‘making’ aspect of my work allows me to produce small bespoke items. Brooches are a favourite, with each one being hand painted and therefore a one-off (even if the colour way is similar). My latest are formed from a birch plywood base, which I choose to source externally rather than make myself, and therefore help to support another business. I also enjoy teaching and really love seeing others learn something new and take home the items and skills they have acquired.....hopefully with the inspiration to do more! The photography side of my work still ticks over in the background with images and items that I sell on Redbubble. I have also remained a contributor to online photo libraries including Dreamstime and Adobe Stock. Commissioned work is something I take on now and again when time allows. Please email me if you have a request you would like to discuss.

Adam Aaronson Glass Studio

West Horsley

Adam specialises in free blown glass. His vessels and sculptures are at once a celebration of the simplicity of pure form, and also an investigation into layering. His coloured patinas draw on painterly techniques and are predominately inspired by a love of nature, especially the play of light on water and the landscape. He is a consummate colourist, and the Impressionist painters -Turner, Whistler, Monet and others – have been a significant inspiration for his work. “I think of my work as a story of surface and form. Each blown glass artwork is a canvas, depicting landscape in a variety of abstracted ways; a shimmering moment of reflection, capturing river and sea, coastline, forest and desert, as light passes over and through. Glass contains its own dynamic of reflection and refraction, and balancing the relationship between form and surface is often challenging. I explore the organic form of each sculpture, celebrating the natural flow and force of molten glass, sometimes leaving behind traditional requirements for functionality. “Sometimes I start with a defined idea, but the intuitive way in which I work means that on occasions I’ll notice unexpected aspects of the developing form and how they relate to the palette I am using. It’s almost as if the evolving piece influences the way it turns out. People often say that glass has a life of its own and it is only when you actually make glass that you understand what this means. I’ve been developing a vocabulary of forms for some years, and these range from the early simple canvases to the more recent organic surfaces.” Adam’s work has been exhibited all over the world and can be found in numerous private collections from royalty to rock stars. Over the years, he has been commissioned to make work for the Royal Academy of Arts in London, Italy’s venerable Salviati glass studio, the Museum of Art and Design in New York, the UK’s National Art Collections Fund and The British Museum, among others. Adam’s work has been shown at the prestigious Sotheby’s Contemporary Decorative Arts exhibition in London, and the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, in New York City. Adam is a Fellow of the Society of Designer Craftsmen (FSDC) and chair of their Selection Committee. He is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) and Adam is also a member of many glass related societies and organisations, including the Contemporary Glass Society, and The Glass Society, which was formed from the merger of the Glass Association and the Glass Circle. Adam is also an active member of the Surrey Sculpture Society and the Surrey Guild of Craftsmen, as well as the Oxford Sculptors Group. Adam has exhibited and demonstrated at Art in Action, the annual arts and crafts event at Waterperry Gardens in Oxfordshire.

KFD Jewellery

London

As a young adult, my passion for the perfect pieces of jewellery for me saw me travelling to craft fairs and designer shows in the search for something just right. I rarely found what I wanted. In 1999, whilst I was a teacher of biology, I attended a local jewellery making evening class with the intention of making the collections that I really wanted to wear. That was the start of everything you will see on this site. My love affair with jewellery blossomed and I was inspired by that first evening to enroll on short specialist courses and I started to read books...lots and lots of books! I started to make and sell my jewellery on a part time basis, whilst still teaching. In 2002, I made two moves: I moved with my husband, two young children and labrador dog to the Cambridgeshire countryside whilst at the same time moving out of teaching and into making and selling my jewellery full time. From those beginnings, I'm proud to say that that I continue to personally design all the collections in the KFD Jewellery range, and they are all hand crafted in my Cambridgeshire workshop. For the past 20 plus years I've pursued my dream and passion of creating beautiful and elegant handcrafted jewellery that ladies love. My wish is that every piece of jewellery I've created helps you feel unique, sophisticated and stylish whenever you wear it. My more recent collection are infused with meaning as well as looking beautiful. Jewellery that resonates with you is more likely to be jewellery that feels authentically you.

Meaningbit

I meet many subtle revolutionaries. One thing most have in common is that they struggle to describe what it is they do. They are doing something unique and it does not have a name yet. They may work with individuals, families or organisations. They may call themselves a consultant, founder, coach, designer, therapist, trainer, teacher, facilitator, researcher or leader. Often, they are all of these things and more. What they have in common is they are making lives better in new and unexpected ways. This is not a straightforward path. Few workplaces welcome any of the three qualities. I have yet to find one that wants all three. Working on the big picture is seen as a distraction from the urgent business of the day. It is easy to pick up the message that the approach - perhaps your greatest strength - has no value. That leads to unfulfilling work and the exhaustion of trying to be someone you are not. When you try to use these qualities, you will meet another challenge. Most of the existing advice will not work for you effectively. It is either outdated or just plain wrong. Some of it will even make things worse. This leads to anxiety and frustration. Perhaps even the sense of being a failure when things just don’t work out as intended time after time. I provide space as you reclaim the qualities that make you unique. I offer guidance as we explore ways to turn that uniqueness into a valuable enterprise. In doing so, we create a situation where it is no longer necessary to struggle for success. Where you do not have to trade energy for money.

Louise Worthy Artist & Printmaker

louise worthy artist & printmaker

I am an artist and printmaker living in Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands. I am fashion and textiles trained (Bath Spa University and Manchester Polytechnic) which is where my love of printmaking started. I worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years as a designer. When I moved to Sutherland in 2005 I had the chance to be more hands-on creative and re-kindle my love of printmaking that had been simmering on the back burner since the early days of college. I take inspiration from my surroundings in the Scottish Highlands with its abundance of wildlife and vast range of contrasting landscapes, from the moors and mountains, waterfalls and lochs to the turquoise waters and white sands of the beautiful beaches. For a number of years I used a converted ACME mangle for producing my prints but then in 2012 I treated myself to a proper traditional etching press which is fabulous and much easier to use! My work includes various methods of printmaking; monoprint, drypoint etching, collagraph and lino cut and I also love mixed media techniques. I love the process of creating prints using different methods especially monoprints, where part of the fun is not knowing what the end result will be until the last minute. It can take hours of manipulating ink on the printing plate before they go through the press. I love experimenting and each finished piece is unique. I exhibit regularly in the Scottish Highlands including local galleries and my work is included in private collections in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand. I also teach workshops for individuals and small groups in various printmaking techniques.

Plymouth

Three things you need to know about Sadie: she loves colour, she loves patterns and she loves things that are a little bit different! Welsh designer Sadie Hawker has created an exciting, luxe jewellery collection for lovers of vibrant colour, exotic print and intricate craftsmanship. Sadie's never been shy about experimenting with fashion and is a fan of shoes, handbags, and of course, jewellery - things that can transform an outfit from nay to yay instantly! Her search for well-made statement pieces that "not everyone" was wearing led her to making her own jewellery whilst living in New Zealand. She enjoyed it so much that it quickly grew into an obsession, and she was soon stocked in several cool, independent stores across the country - her very first was Rex Royale, on Cuba Street in Wellington! After several successful years sharing her love of bright statement jewels down under, Sadie returned to her home hemisphere. Shh by Sadie is now stocked in NZ, UK, USA, Portugal, Australia, Hong Kong and Guadaloupe. Sadie creates statement pieces for you to have fun with, that give you confidence, put a spring in your step and bring your outfit to life! Her designs reflect Sadie's love of playful, colourful statement jewellery that will last longer than one season and be mixed and matched for years to come. She wears her jewellery every day, and hopes you will too! Sadie enjoys using traditional bead looming techniques, crystals and chains to create her unique pieces. She hunts down limited stashes of vintage beads, chains and embellishments, and so Shh by Sadie pieces are often one of a kind or limited edition.
