Kate Colin is a paper folding artist and designer based in Glasgow who creates bold and sculptural lighting and homewares. Inspired by origami and geometric form, her range of handcrafted folded products emphasise the interplay between light and shade. Founded in 2014, her studio manufactures products for both residential interiors and commercial clients. All work is produced in small limited edition quantities and made entirely by hand using traditional folding and fabric pleating techniques. Kate’s appreciation for the beauty and variety of geometric form was inherited from her mathematician father who made polyhedral models in his spare time. Many years later, she decided to channel this latent interest in colour, tonal variations and geometry to create a range of functional homeware products. Having received several awards and scholarships, she is continually striving to increase her knowledge of the art of folding and origami, learn new techniques and experiment with ways of applying her designs to new materials to create a variety of innovative, functional products. She regularly teaches all levels of students and hosts regular online and in-person paper folding workshops and masterclasses. She has also recently launched a new course with Domestika.

I started out as a freelance gardener in London in 2016, escaping desk-bound corporate life. After working for award-winning designer Gabrielle Gardens, studying RHS Level 2 in Horticulture at Capel Manor College, and a year working for the amazing and extraordinary Garden Team at Chelsea Physic Garden, I left for the wilder, greener lands of Somerset. Wilde Green was set up in 2019 to provide quality and bespoke gardening services to residential and commercial spaces in South Somerset, West Wiltshire, and North Dorset. In 2020, I launched our floristry service, offering artisan bouquets and locally sourced gifts, bespoke arrangements and designs for events and weddings, and providing regular orders for private and corporate clients. In 2021, we expanded the business, moving into a studio at Martock Workspace, allowing us to set up a retail space, offer workshops, classes, a variety of events, and showcase the work of local artists and creators. Whilst we aren't currently offering gardening services, I am always happy to have a chat about horticulture requirements and ideas, and can recommend other wonderful garden designers, landscapers, and maintenance gardeners.

Carole Smollan enjoys teaching, particularly beginners and children, “I encourage them to access their creative processes.” I find this fascinating and inspiring and with children I believe it sets them up for a lifelong advantage. Smollan began exhibiting her art work from the age of 17. As a lace and lingerie designer she became head of a public company, won a prize at the Cologne Fair and was elected “Young Business Woman of the Year. Subsequently she ran her ceramic studio for 20 years making large murals for public buildings – the proudest one being in the foyer of the Constitutional Court in Johannesburg. Creating ceramics for the blind in Gardens, Cape Town was an awe inspiring experience. For many years she did the critique for a distance learning Art Course. In 1996 she emigrated to England without her kilns and began to develop her textile work. Her love of cloth began in her grandfather’s tailoring room. Smollan specializes in Synagogue Art. She has been commissioned to produce artwork for synagogues all over the world, exhibited on many one-man shows and museums all over the world, recently with a show of 150 pieces at the Yeshiva University Museum in New York.

I find joy in craft and the handmade and I’m so lucky that I get to hand make my own products everyday. I live in Brighton where I grew up, I’m an avid tea drinker, a colour lover and I find happiness in being outdoors and in nature. Lume lighting is based in a small sunny studio at the bottom of Albert Mews in Brighton & Hove, UK. From here I hand make contemporary and traditional sewn lampshades using Lume’s own collection of printed fabrics and a range of luxury linens. Alongside my expertly designed lampshades, there are unique fairy lights and pendant lights to add interest and fun to your home. I am a skilled lampshade maker and have been expertly manufacturing lampshades since 2014. After adding contemporary drum lampshades to my range of homewares, I found a love for lampshades and decided to focus on lighting and rebranded my homewares business from ‘Joanna Corney’ to ‘Lume Lighting’ in 2018. Being a trained printed textile designer means that my lampshades are unique as they are made using my own exclusive screen and lino printed fabric. I am skilled in the traditional methods of soft lampshade making as well as hard backed contemporary styles, and offer a bespoke made to order and lampshade recovering service.

As an artist I work with shared truth and autobiography to create theatre and improvised theatre with a sense of nostalgia that asks how perspective has changed us. I deep dive into genres like storytelling, science fiction and folk horror to create a mood and a washing line of tropes to build my original work around. I either make transient work through long form improvisation or write a script and edit through collaboration and audience reactions. There is always an element of audience involvement - small or large - that changes the piece each time. My artwork retells my personal history, my passions and my fears in a way that allows others to unlock theirs." Katy Schutte is one of the UK's original long form improvisers. She performs and teaches all over the world, is Head Teacher and Course Designer for Hoopla (the UK's largest improv school), was Co-Founder/Director at the International Improv Station and has been one of The Maydays since their founding year in 2004 with stints as Director and Artistic Director. She is half of legendary sci-fi improv duo Project2 and author of The Improviser's Way: A Longform Workbook, which is published by Nick Hern Books. Katy trained at Second City and iO Chicago and with teachers from the Annoyance, UCB, Groundlings, The Magnet and lots of other places. Katy also plays in slow burn longform show Katy and Rach, has toured with Fluxx, improvised musicals with Music Box, The Maydays and Baby Wants Candy, co-created the Destination podcast and has guested in countless shows including Messing with a Friend, Criminal, The Playground, the London and Liverpool Improvathons, Grand Theft Impro, Séance Fiction, Whirled News Tonight and The Armando Diaz Experience. Along with Chris Mead and Tony Harris, she was in the first ever improv show in Virtual Reality and continues to work on the bleeding edge of technology in The Galaxicle Implosions. She has performed in Hoopla's Saturday night shows Tightrope and Speechless, the West End show Yes Queens and toured festivals with WrongCom. Katy is thrilled to be a team member of London queer improv group Hell Yeah! and hip hop improv team Track 96.

EMMA BROUGHTON I am a Wiltshire-based RSN trained Embroidery Tutor, Author, Artist and fabric designer with expertise in hand embroidery, fabric dyeing, screen printing, and digital fabric design. I am a graduate of both the Royal School of Needlework Apprenticeship (2009) and the University of the Creative Arts (2012). In 2019 my book 'Embroidered Boxes: Techniques and Projects' was published by Crowood Press. My passion is creating unique designs for embroidered boxes and specialist embroidery kits.  I sell and teach my design online and in person classes independently, for the Royal school of Needlework and the Embroiderers' Guild of America under the name Fairy Wren Embroidery. In 2023 I was given the honour of being awarded a Developing your Creative Practice Grant by the Arts Council England to fund a Blackwork Portrait project which I am extremely passionate about. I have recently been accepted as a RSN Fellow, which is the school's new professional association for tutors and other alumni to celebrate their commitment, skill and passion for embroidery.

I trained as, and still am, a graphic designer. That bold graphic style comes out in my glass work, but the reason I took up glass was for a creative break from the computer, and to do a practical craft. What I couldn't have foreseen when I took up what I thought would be a little hobby, is how addictive glass is! The day I did a brief taster session I was hooked. Three years later I had completed a postgraduate certificate in Glass and Fine Art at Central St Martins in London, followed by the same qualification again, this time in Glass and Architecture. Those courses and the wonderful tutors taught me a wide range of glass skills, brought me some of the most creative moments of my life, and gave me a group of friends who shared this love of glass, and whom I would later exhibit with as 'Teepee Glass'. As a result I have been fortunate to exhibit in some amazing places, and have completed commissions small and large for a variety of customers. His experience now extends across different markets and sectors, working directly with clients and through communication and event management companies and creative agencies He regularly works closely with his friend and business colleague, Nadine Dereza at PS Programmes, specialising in providing a refreshing approach to media training, for those who want to build their confidence and adeptness in acting as a spokesperson for their organisation Ross lives in Oxfordshire with his family, next to the Chilterns, where he enjoys walking, cycling, running, and is involved with his boys' football clubs. He is also Chair of the local Scouts Group An extraordinary network He has travelled extensively working with many different cultures and environments. He works with an extraordinary network of facilitators, including, artists, graphic illustrators, foreign language speakers and learning and development specialists with a diverse range of expertise and qualifications. Games and activities Ross is also the designer of conference and workshop based activities and games. These are highly inclusive and engaging. Ross believes that people learn most when they’re having fun, and if you’ve ever witnessed such an atmosphere, then you’ll know exactly what he means!
