Leeds Sanctuary is a network of communities in Leeds City Centre, that each begin with encounter and embody sanctuary and justice, through which individuals and the city flourish in the ways of God’s Kingdom. You can read more about those core values here. We create spaces and resources on and offline for people to connect more deeply with themselves, one another and important issues of social justice. We are exploring craftivism, meditation, mindfulness, climate change, wellbeing, Christian spirituality and much more. We create free mindfulness, meditation and craftivist resources, which are available on our blog. We also run in person events on these themes as well as wellbeing sessions for different groups. We are a Christian project for people of all faiths and none run by the Yorkshire West Methodist District. We are building on a strong history of Methodism in Leeds City Centre.

50 million Americans, including 10 million school-aged children, are dyslexic and they comprise 80% of students in special education classrooms. In a recent nationwide survey conducted by Dyslexic Advantage, over half of parents were told by a principal or teacher that dyslexia is not recognized by their school system. The Secretary of Education recently confirmed that there is no dyslexia-specific curriculum or plan for these students which has serious consequences for these children because they think and learn differently than other non-dyslexic students and require methods of instruction that are suited to their way of learning and thinking. Today, Dyslexic Advantage (DA) is breaking the cycle of negative in school systems and workplaces by revolutionizing how dyslexic people are understood, educated, and employed. We’re replacing the old and outmoded deficit-centered paradigm with a new and more productive strengths-centered paradigm that puts abilities rather than weaknesses at the heart of what it means to be dyslexic.

Aims to provide musical education for students of all ages. Employs professional musicians who are specifically trained by Yamaha to ensure quality teaching on all courses. Yamaha Music School specialises in group tuition giving the student a more enjoyable musical experience throughout each lesson. Tuition is given after school hours and all day on Saturdays. Students are prepared for examinations through Yamaha Rockschool. Student concerts are held on a regular basis which provides students with the opportunity of performing in front of an audience.
