The mayor’s visit marked the first phase in establishing this new Permablitz London garden which will be used for educational purposes to demonstrate sustainable and regenerative wildlife-friendly food growing, keeping chickens and integrating sensory and nature-connection wellbeing areas. Each week the award-wining London’s Community Kitchen saves approximately 50 tonnes of surplus food that would otherwise go to landfill and uses it to feed up to 14,000 people. They run free cookery classes to teach people cooking skills on a budget, using surplus ingredients. They recently won the Outstanding Achievement award at the Observer Food Monthly Awards 2022.

With the help of our supporters, we save historic buildings in danger of being lost forever. We sensitively restore such 'Landmarks' and offer them a new future by making them available to everyone for self-catering holidays. The lettings income from the 200 extraordinary buildings in our care supports their maintenance and survival in our landscape, culture and society. Though they range from the sober to the spectacular, all our buildings are rich in history and atmosphere. They include picturesque pavilions and medieval long-houses, artillery forts and Gothick follies, clan chiefs’ castles and cotton weavers’ cottages, the homes of great writers and the creations of great architects, from Browning to Boswell, from Pugin to Palladio.

Life at No.27 was formed in 2019, built with passion at its core and designed to change lives. We understand that high levels of anxiety and a lack of confidence brought on by difficult or confusing experiences can be one of the highest hurdles to overcome. This can then begin a devastating spiral that can affect a person’s life potential on many levels. The director, Annabelle Padwick has a wide variety of skills, experience and qualifications relating to therapeutic approaches to working with those struggling with anxiety, low confidence and special educational needs. Ethos and approach We are committed to providing a safe, inspiring and nurturing environment that can meet the needs of young people who are struggling in a mainstream setting and adults in day to day life. We are focused on identifying individuals whose anxiety and lack in confidence can mean they are so often overlooked. We aim to empower people through a variety of practical, outdoor and creative activities that not only teach valuable and transferable skills, but that also have a meaningful and therapeutic value. We will foster relationships based on compassion and understand any behaviour is a form of communication of difficult thoughts and feelings. Through this we can begin to help a person have a deeper insight of themselves, which will develop and encourage emotional and social growth, whilst increasing self-awareness. We will have a culture firmly rooted in the therapeutic approach in order to provide reflection, space for growth and support for the people accessing the service, their families and our growing team. Meeting the need The organisation is a social enterprise which aims to meet a very real and growing need. Sadly, mental health struggles are rising in children and adults year on year. The current education system alongside the NHS has been and will be under a great deal of pressure, with limited resources to meet the needs of people who have complex needs and anxiety struggles. Often, these individuals slip through the net or end up disengaged from school and their wider network, which can have a devastating effect on their lives.

always brimming with ideas, armi is a knowledgable and experienced art educator with over 25 years in the post 16 sector, including a level, btec, access, foundation and degree level teaching. you will receive lots of one to one help ensuring success and a sense of achievement. many examples and demonstrations to get you excited and started, you will gain from armi’s extensive knowledge in a variety of creative processes and be amazed by what can be achieved. armi creates a welcoming, friendly and supportive atmosphere, encouraging participants to achieve their full potential while having fun! the large, light, purpose built studio is set in a fabulous contemporary gravel garden, featured in a number of magazines, and creates a great backdrop for the workshops. seasonal plants and flowers are often used as subject matter to draw and print from. a practising artist, armi has been producing her own work since she studied fine art. she specialises in mixed media and textile processes and has shown and sold in many exhibitions, open studios and online. She has worked on government, and United Nations-backed projects with delegates from over 72 countries, has hosted television shows to raise social awareness in Japan and Ukraine and co-founded a charity in India to bring about reforms in education. She has travelled to almost 60 countries and takes a keen interest in the lives and cultures of people. Nikita recently received recognition for her work in the field of education and training as ‘Top 100 Leaders in Education’ from the Global Forum for Education and Learning. She has worked with people of all backgrounds, cultures and ages – right from babies to adults. Her wealth of experiences enables her to engage with people from all walks of life. Nikita works in London as an Educational Consultant providing training and advice to international schools and private and voluntary sector institutions. She has transformed ‘inadequate’ rated schools into ‘good’ (Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills inspection in England). She genuinely cares about the families she works with and uses creative ways to meet their unique needs. For example, at one of the schools, Nikita created a bespoke software to enable the staff to accurately track children’s progress and communicate it with their parents, while reducing unnecessary paperwork. In her spare time, she volunteers in orphanages and charities supporting underprivileged children in Romania. Nikita delivers corporate staff training on the very contemporary topic of Emotional Intelligence and Wellbeing. She firmly believes that as adults, we need to think of our wellbeing, to benefit ourselves and to enable us to support people in our care. Nikita also trains parents and teachers on this very topic, which is also a topic of her doctoral research. She firmly believes that it’s never too early or too late to think of emotional literacy. Nikita has a master’s degree in business and economics and is a qualified teacher with post-graduate qualifications in Froebelian and Montessori philosophy and psychology. She has done several other pieces of training in the field of education to support children with special needs. She is trained as a forest school leader, a first aider and as a safeguarding lead. She is a certified Life Coach, and a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and Nero-Linguistic Programming practitioner. She feels passionate about education, and her vision is to help people attain their potential by connecting with their own emotions and having healthy relationships. A value that Nikita strongly believes in is ‘Emotional Growth’ and self-trust.
