The practice was established in 1980 by David Owen who qualified as an architect with honours in 1981 and is a registered member of the Architects Registration Board. Jenny Clark joined the architectural practice in 2003, become a partner of the business in 2007 and now runs the practice with David acting as a consultant. Our aim is to provide a personal professional service, responsive to the needs of the client. This is achieved by working with the client to ensure the highest quality design meets their brief. The Owen Partnership covers the counties of Essex and Suffolk and we have a close working relationship with the local authorities in Colchester, Maldon, Braintree and Chelmsford. We regularly work with different consultants such as surveyors, arborists, structural engineers, environmental and energy consultants. The practice holds professional and public liability insurance.

The LSSM started the first ever Sports Massage course in September 1989. Set up and taught by Mel Cash, this was based on the first ever book on Sports Massage that he wrote the year before. We were also the first massage school to be externally validated by BTEC (the main Government-backed awarding body in the UK). Ours is a ‘Customised Qualification’ which we design ourselves and operate in the way we believe is best. BTEC then independently assess this and they approved our first Sports Massage qualification with a Level 4 standard. BTEC annually carry out a thorough audit of our whole operation to ensure we maintain the high standard and quality of our training. We have carefully designed our course to meet the needs of mature (non-school leaver) students looking for a new career which is why we run part-time courses at weekend spread over a longer period of time. The weekend classes are devoted mostly to teaching hands-on practical skills which can only be learned properly in a classroom along with other students and experienced tutors. The underpinning theory is now taught online so students can fit this in with their lives better. But LSSM has always been more than just a school, we are also the pioneer of a new sector of modern healthcare. We are led by Mel and his close team of tutors who are all dedicated hands-on therapists that have constantly strived to better meet the needs of their clients. Developing from their Sports Massage roots they acquired higher skills in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of people suffering with pain and injury. This has also given them a much wider scope of practice and made it a much more stimulating and rewarding life-time career. Over the years we have integrated these new clinically proven skills into our training and our BTEC qualification is now Level 5, called Soft Tissue Therapy and takes about one-year. It still includes Sports Massage but is now much more focused treating musculoskeletal pain and injury with people from all walks of life. Our main training centre is in central London, at Regent’s University premises inside Regent’s Park, and we have another branch at Totton College near Southampton. Our administration office is in Willesden Green, NW London.

At WyeMade workshops, you can create a piece of your own design in a fun and friendly environment - meet new people, and learn a new craft! Each workshop lasts between 3 - 4 hours, and is limited to four students. This ensures plenty of access to tools and professional tutoring, plus additional COVID-19 safety measures. Workshop prices include all of your materials, as well as the guidance and use of tools to make your jewellery. Tea, coffee and snacks are also provided. WyeMade Workshops are not suitable for children under 13 due to the equipment used. All children 13 to 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Please contact me before booking a place for a child so we can discuss what is involved and I can allow some extra time on the day. Glena Art Studio opens in London on the 1st of November, 2022, following seven years old history of the Glena Art Studio project for art education, workshops, and creative events across the UK, Bulgaria, and internationally via online tutoring. The leader and teacher of the studio is Galina Hristova, a practising artist and educator, with BA and MA in Set and Costume design and MFA in Fine Arts. Her professional training started at the widely acclaimed National school of Fine Arts ‘Tzanko Lavrenov’, Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and ended with the MFA Course at Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL, London, UK. Trained in the academic tradition of painting and drawing, Galina now works multidisciplinary with main focus on Painting and Performance art. Together with her teaching experience, she has led different workshops, presentations, and talks. Her practice expands in curation with the realisation of different art exhibitions and live events. Galina has six solo exhibitions and a great number of collective shows. Her purpose as an educator is to guide and encourage students to discover and release their creative potential, but also to support personal development. Through the formation of self-esteem and social integrity, raise values such as equality, compassion, and acceptance.
