It started with the Kids Saturday Bike Club set up by Mike Healey, who is still one of the key members and coaches. Now joined by several British Cycling coaches, the club offers a variety of training sessions for all disciplines form road, to MTB to track to cyclocross, turbo, rollers and beyond. Our riders range from those who want to have fun on a bike to those who want to race, some of our youth riders have represented the club nationally and even internationally as well as representing Yorkshire at Inter Regional Events.

The school has been fortunate to have had a rebuild under the Building Schools for the Future that was opened fully in September 2013. Baby Swimmers was founded in Yorkshire in 2004 by Tracy Margo after attending similar classes with her first baby. She found them so beneficial and enjoyable that she was inspired to set up her own classes to teach little ones water safety skills, and their parents the enjoyment of bonding with their baby in the water. From just one small class, today we teach over 500 children every week across North & West Yorkshire through our team of incredibly talented and passionate swim teachers. And in 2019, we were thrilled to be crowned winners of the What’s On 4 Kids ‘Most Loved Sport or Physical Activity award’. There are lots of reasons why baby swimming is good for your baby (and you, too!). Healthy Human was first established in 2018.  At the time both Nicky and Alison were in practice and looking for a partner to help them create a 360 method to supporting clients back to better health and happiness. In 2019 they found each other and 'Healthy Human 360' was born.  As lockdown hit Nicky and Alison decided to move their programmes online so that anyone could access them, despite the current restrictions.  This move turned out to beneficial in even more ways, for example for those who didn't live in the region where Alison and Nicky practice, for clients with busy lives who needed to fit a programme in around their schedule.  An online and on demand course was giving clients total flexibility to go at a pace to suit them and their lives.  They enjoyed that they could repeat or dip back into lessons as often as they liked; and for some the icing on the cake was they didn't have to expose themselves to a gym or weight watching club, which can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming or scary.  You're in good hands   Nicky and Alison's evidence based health programmes are crafted from years of experience and specialist knowledge.  The 360 method ensures a higher success rate; with easy to follow and progressive steps, clients are able to move from being stuck and unhappy to a better place of health, in better shape, and with a whole new mindset.   Both partners also continue practices in their respective areas of specialism.  For a bit more of an insight into your therapists, Alison and Nicky, read on... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ALISON BRAITHWAITE MSC, CIPD Alison has been working in the wellbeing sector for nearly 20 years and is a qualified holistic therapist and life coach, with a deep understanding of mental health having worked in that sector of the NHS since 2007.  During her time with the NHS Alison has provided coaching and mentorship for numerous NHS staff within the Yorkshire and Humber region, as part of a volunteer scheme run by the NHS Leadership Academy. The IBBSS looks forward to giving our guests a warm welcome. The quality of the faculty virtually ensures a high-octane adventure for everyone involved. Located at University of Wales, Swansea, which overlooks the majestic panorama of Swansea Bay, all participants will be spoilt for choice both in the realm of music and holidaying options on offer. As in any learning situation, the bottom line rests with the quality of the faculty, and in this case, it is as good as it gets anywhere in the world. Each member of the faculty is internationally renowned, not only for their musical and performance expertise but also their social skills, a consequence of a regular diet of globe-trotting, performing and conducting master-classes to people of all ages and abilities. It was famously said of the Artistic Director, Dr. Nicholas Childs, that if he had played the cello rather than the euphonium, his name would have been Rostropovich. He is now perhaps more widely known as Artistic Director of the world-famous Black Dyke Band. Meanwhile, the instrumental tutors represent the cream of Britain’s incredibly talented core of brilliant instrumentalists: the incredible Tom Hutchinson from The Cory Band, Daniel Thomas, Richard Marshall and Brett Baker from Black Dyke, Freelance soloist Owen Farr and Gary Curtin from the Fodens Band. Under their expert tutelage you will be given the opportunity to explore new repertoire, meet new friends and generally have a fantastic time. For those applicants who possess an overwhelming desire to seriously improve their all-round playing skills and musical understanding, then, without doubt, they have chosen wisely, for the fixed intention is to provide them with a learning experience of a lifetime, whilst still allowing time and space for holiday fun. If the aim is to balance a general improvement in overall playing standards with making new like-minded friends, whilst enjoying a little more time in the sun amidst great surroundings, then look no further. In short, everyone enrolled in the summer course will be able to design a great banding holiday with precisely as much music making as is desired. The International Brass Band Summer School also caters for non-participating and non-residential visitors. For those who want to brush up on their brass band skills whilst their partners soak up the sun in a sublime environment, rest assured, this will resemble Christmas in the summer.
