When we started the Greater Manchester Parenting Collective, we felt left out. We were just three friends, all with young families, and we never felt like we had a place we could turn to for support. We wanted to create an environment where women in the same situation as we were could come and feel safe, bringing their children, their families and their great many questions with them. There are always so many! This is completely normal. Our parenting support in Manchester is for everyone, regardless of background, because we know that families come in all shapes and sizes. We’re here for you as you step into your new role as a parent, backed by our own professional experiences as peer supporters and babywearing educators, so you can step forward in the confidence that you’re stepping in the right direction.

Chichester Bowmen is a target archery club, one of the largest in Sussex. We were founded in 1955 and have always been based in Oaklands Park, Chichester, where we have one of the few permanent archery ranges in the county. Our members shoot all three major bow types and include men and, women of all ages and abilities, we also have a number of junior members (although we do not normally take juniors under the age of 8). The Club participates in local and national competitions and has members in the Sussex County team. Not all members take part in competitions; however, many are ‘social’ archers who just shoot for pleasure. We are a social enterprise formed in June 2019 to benefit the community. Our studio is based at the Callendar Square Shopping Centre in Falkirk to benefit the community. In our spacious studio, we provide the right environment to promote sewing and other creative art and craft activities for newcomers, women, children, minority groups including ethnic minorities, LGBTI and anyone who feels they would benefit from inclusion in the project. Ubuntu is our founding principle which speaks to our interconnection as people; I am, because you are because we are. We believe that one person cannot be successful if we are not all successful, if one person is excluded we are all missing out. Ubuntu sits at the heart of our approach to creating and nurturing a community. We facilitate and promote the environment for artists and craftspeople to thrive and for community members to develop and learn new skills, end isolation, develop social networks, work with people and engage them to create projects of their design, and we believe that everything fits, be that people coming together or fabrics being sewn together.
