Founded in 2004, Threshold was a pioneer among cohousing communities in the UK, providing a benchmark for others who sought to live in a more eco-friendly, sustainable and collaborative way. More than 15 years on and although some things have changed – including many of the faces of the people living here – Threshold continues to evolve guided by the ethos that inspired its founder members, which is summed up in the community’s Vision Statement: Our vision as an intentional community is to live more sustainably in the full sense, treading as lightly as we can upon the planet, both individually and as a group. Serving something greater than our own needs, we aim to create an environment that is nourishing and diverse whilst deepening our spiritual awareness in everyday life and work. We are an inclusive dance company that has been based at Bishops Down Primary School since 2016. Our inclusive classes are open to anybody who loves or wants to dance and be creative. We are delighted to have formed a well-established group of dancers and over time we have seen them flourish and grow from strength to strength. At ‘This Is Us’, we work very hard throughout each session to make sure all children are growing in confidence and independence, and have the opportunity to be themselves. We run in association with Stopgap Dance Company as one of their IRIS syllabus youth groups. This is a specialised inclusive syllabus to allow our dancers to work towards an end goal as well as develop their dance and social skills. Dance Teacher Hannah has worked for several years in a number of professional Contemporary companies, including that of Stopgap, and has gathered all that she has learned to create her own unique style of inclusive teaching to allow children to feel proud of who they are.

Evidence-based content and delivery ensures sessions give participants a basic knowledge of how to prepare healthy and nutritious meals in an informal manner providing opportunities for family or community interaction, eating in a social context and some physical exercise. In an increasingly fast moving world the recipes created demonstrate how quick, easy and cheap it is to prepare and cook a healthy balanced meal from base ingredients.
