The organisation was registered as an independent VCSE in 2010 and is managed by an excellent board of trustees. Whilst the organisation retains a specialism in working with people with complex needs and criminal convictions, it can work with anyone in the community who is experiencing barriers in accessing training and employment. Many of our clients have complex needs in relation to homelessness, mental health problems, drug/alcohol dependency and offending behaviour. We pride ourselves on our non-judgemental, person-centred approach in our work with clients that builds their confidence, motivation and helps to inspire change in their lives. Only 19% of the digital tech workforce in the UK is female, compared to 37% across all sectors. It’s proven that the gender gap costs the tech sector time and money, but it also contributes to the challenges we have sourcing talent and widens the digital skills gap. Our exploration of diversity Our journey began in 2013, as Liverpool Girl Geeks. We created a community of like-minded people in Liverpool who wanted to progress gender equality in tech. In the beginning we organised meet ups for adults, but we soon realised that we could make a real difference if we mobilised the community, so we began running educational programmes led by industry with the aim of helping minority groups progress. In 2015 we launched our first educational programmes for teens. We recognised that we needed to work with girls as young as twelve to tackle the gender stereotypes that are so entrenched within women by the time they reach adulthood. What we noticed within our first few cohorts of teen girls was the lack of background diversity. Students that attended were from similar backgrounds, with supportive parents who may already work in tech (or a related field), from mostly white families, who could afford to bring their child to the sessions we were hosting in Liverpool City Centre each week. Our Co-Founders are women who have both grown up in low income families and wanted to make sure that our programmes reached girls from different backgrounds. As two (relatively young!) white women, they were also acutely aware that we needed to work with a diverse set of industry mentors to ensure that we had a broad range of people of all ages, backgrounds and identities to inspire the students. This includes working with male role models too, as we don’t want to exclude anyone from our mission. A turning point was at the Big Bang Fair in 2016, where we were exposed to hundreds of schools across the U.K. The students that attended were from different nationalities, ethic backgrounds and a multitude of faiths. We realised that to engage a truly diverse range of young people we had to remove all barriers to them accessing our programmes. Shortly afterwards we rebranded as InnovateHer and took our educational programmes into schools. We prioritised working in disadvantaged areas across Liverpool and Manchester. Since then we have worked with girls from a broad range of backgrounds; including families who are asylum seekers, looked after children, girls in faith schools and girls who identify as non-binary, trans or queer.

The Pembrokeshire WI is a very active and dynamic WI Federation with 51 WI groups and over 1100 members. Our WI groups span the whole of the county's geography - from Saundersfoot, in the South, to St Dogmaels, in the North and the Preseli Hills, to the East. Wherever you live, in Pembrokeshire, there will (without doubt!) be a WI that you can join, just down the road from you! Many of our members also like to join several Wis – it just makes 'getting to know new friends' even better and, of course, means getting involved in so many and varied activities! The Pembrokeshire Federation was formed in 1921 - therefore, in 2021 we will be celebrating our 100th Anniversary. At the moment, our Federation and all of our WIs are busy planning for 'our Big Year'! In addition, in 2021, we will be hosting the NFWI Wales Conference, in April, 2021. The meetings, across our county, are all so varied – we are so lucky to have so many different groups – those that meet in the daytime, those that meet in the evening. We also have a great variety of groups with a big mix of ages as well as some that are slightly younger versus those that are slightly older. Whoever you are and whatever you like to do, you can guarantee that you will find a WI that suits you! We own our own House in the county town of Haverfordwest (WI house) which is open to members on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 3pm – all our members are welcome to pop in and have a catch up and chat with a Board Of Trustee member – between those hours there is always someone there to welcome you! We use this house for meetings as well as hiring it out for the local community to use for day schools, educational course and seminars. We are fortunate to have a variety of sub-committees which organise the events both within Pembrokeshire and beyond – these include Sports & Leisure, Home Crafts, Membership & Community & Environment. We publish a monthly newsletter, which keeps WI members informed of all future events and enables groups to share information, across the county, too! Quite simply, Pembrokeshire, with all its beautiful landscapes and gentle pace of life, is blessed with having a WI Federation that is so friendly, dynamic and so welcoming no matter who you are, what your age or what your beliefs are – give it a try, you'll just find so many friends along the way!

We are an independent company covering the areas of Greater Manchester, Lancashire/Fylde Coast, Kirklees and Huddersfield. Our aim is to provide quality training in Emergency Life Support and Key First Aid Skills which is easily accessible for everyone. With this in mind, we have devised a range of First Aid courses which are budget-friendly and tailored to specific groups. We are passionate about the importance of learning First Aid and the impact this can have on saving lives. The SkillSafe approach is that you are never too young to start learning these vital skills. Did you know? – Every year there are around 30,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests across the UK but sadly, less than 1 in 10 survive. In countries where CPR is already taught in schools, cardiac arrest survival rates are more than double those of the UK. We specialise in the delivery of training to schools and colleges, as such we are delighted that CPR and Emergency First Aid is to be introduced onto the curriculum in 2020. This presents a fantastic opportunity for young people to develop valuable life skills which will enable them to help others when the need arises while staying safe. We offer key stage appropriate courses for primary, secondary schools and academies. In addition, we provide vocational First Aid courses and curriculum enrichment training for colleges. Becoming a new parent or grandparent is an exciting and happy event, it can also bring natural apprehension – What happens if something goes wrong? Keeping fingers crossed can’t help in an emergency but equipping yourself with First Aid knowledge and skills certainly can. SkillSafe offer a practical, hands on course – First Aid for Babies and Children – as part of our Community Programme. Are you a carer for a partner, family member or friend? We share the concerns raised by Arts Council England and the International Council of Museums (ICOM) about the risks faced by cultural professionals as well as the threats to cultural heritage because of this conflict and we send our support to all creative practitioners and cultural organisations and institutions affected. 5 June 2020: Stanley Picker Gallery and our partner venue Dorich House Museum recognise we must do more as cultural organisations to be actively anti-racist. We commit to taking immediate steps to implement a clear plan of action to address systemic racism at every level of our organisations, whilst actively seeking and welcoming critical engagement from diverse perspectives in this process. Stanley Picker Gallery at Kingston University is one of the leading university galleries and commissioning venues in the UK, working with artists, designers, students, academics and members of the local community to encourage creativity, learning, research and innovation. Established in 1997 with the ongoing support of the Stanley Picker Trust, the Gallery forms part of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio and is a principal cultural interface between Kingston University and its civic communities in South-West London and beyond. From its island location on the Hogsmill River, our venue is a creative hub, a production site and a presentation space that functions as an “expanded studio” dedicated to commissioning and curating contemporary art and design practice, generating a dynamic programme of exhibitions, events and participation activities staged onsite, offsite and online. Appointed each year through public open call, our Stanley Picker Fellowships in Design and Fine Art support a diversity of contemporary practitioners to research, create and premiere ambitious new work, by providing generous grants, free studio space, professional expertise and valuable access to the world-class workshop facilities at Kingston School of Art. Our Participation Programme involves us working collaboratively with schools, colleges, community groups and local residents of all ages, to deliver a range of creative activities and shared learning and professional development opportunities for students, that engage everyone in the life of the Gallery, our partner venue Dorich House Museum and the wider University. The Globe at Hay is an independent arts centre embracing an ever-changing arts landscape. In 2008, Hilary Lawson, an already long-standing resident of Hay-on-Wye, saw that the Methodist Chapel at the end of town was up for sale. Thinking that this uniquely creative town would benefit hugely from access to a gamut of arts and events, The Globe at Hay was founded. Believing firmly in the ‘Town of Books’ and our local community, The Globe at Hay pledges to invest in making a space where all can come together to share in culture and expression.
