From there, our first premise opened as a small shed but we quickly grew to provide a relaxed, friendly Craft Centre full of beautiful beads and creative crafts offering space that can be used by adults and children to allow their imaginations to flow. In 2019 we expanded to open our second centre in Kings Walk, Winchester! Our new centre features a lot of the same great workshops and products as Fair Oak but also offers private hire spaces, our own tea rooms and lots of exciting new activities too. Our unique Craft Centres offer not only a lovely shopping experience for all your craft materials but also a chance to take a seat and craft or leave the children to be entertained whilst you relax. In September 2016 the London Academy was launched in East London by champion level dancer Erin Coyle. The aim was to provide Irish dance and culture activities to the people from what used to be a heavily Irish influenced area. Erin, who is of Irish descent and grew up in East London, has been dancing since the age of seven and quickly fell in love with the sport and regularly competed all over England until the age of fifteen. After finishing college, and spending a few years establishing a career as a chef in Michelin star restaurants, Erin was offered a job in House of Lords which gave her the weekends off, so at the age of 21, she came back to Irish Dance. In was a matter of months Erin started to compete and quickly climbed to championship level again. Since then she has gained 2nd at All Irelands, 3rd at British, Irish and German Open and in 2018 became a world medal holder for the first time after placing 11th place at the WIDA World Championships. Erin combines her love of travel and Irish dancing and has attended feis (Irish dance competitions) all over Europe including Latvia, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, and Romania as well as all over the UK and Ireland. Travelling is highly encouraged at London Academy as Erin believes it brings new, fun and exciting experiences to dancers and helps to promote Irish dance in areas where the interest is still building. London Academy now offers classes all over London for dancers of all ages (including adults) and abilities. The academy focuses heavily on making Irish dance a fun and interesting way to keep fit and for those who wish to do so may compete and will be provided all the support they need to reach their goals.

A Lively, Vibrant Space an art class in a studio in florence italy THE FLORENCE ART STUDIO The Florenceart.net studio is located in a charming ex-monastery, near the ancient town of Anghiari in southern Tuscany. Our independent artist's studio has been active for over 15 years and throughout this time we have produced many commissions and held courses with students visiting this historic region from all over the world. The studio was formerly on Via della Scala, in the historical Palace of the Riblet Bargagli Petrucci in the center of Florence, but moved in 2022 to the new location in the countryside. For those who cannot travel to Italy, we have new online videos for beginners or professional artists to learn art virtually. Classical and Contemporary OUR SPECIALITIES We specialize in antique artisan techniques and skills such as gilding, trompe l'oeil, grisaille, fresco, sgraffito, and grottesca decoration. We create artworks and decoration for interiors, harpsichords, and furniture. We produce fine furniture finishes and decorative art for the interior design industry worldwide. In the past we have created designs for fabric, stencils and original interior decoration. Please see our Commissions page for examples of our past work. We love sharing our knowledge of these authentic techniques. Throughout the year, we hold art workshops and retreat courses from our studio and in stunning locations in Tuscany, teaching gilding, decorative painting, mural decoration and lime fresco techniques.

The Eden Workshop is part of Right2Work and runs Craft Workshops & courses at The Appleby Hub and will travel! The Appleby Hub is run by Right2Work CIC, http://www.right2work.org.uk which is part of The Oaklea Trust http://www.oakleatrust.co.uk which strive to strengthen local communities – an example of their work being Project Edenside just round the corner from The Hub. The Hub is a former church and is now a thriving community centre with a busy café with a seed swap station, craft shop, second hand bookshop and a jigsaw library. Upstairs there are studios rented by artists and rooms for hire. The bustling market town of Appleby, boasts a vibrant high street full of independent shops and cafes, there’s good road links – we are just off A66 and 20mins from M6 jct 40. Along with the published list of Workshops that you can book onto we also offer private, bespoke ones just for you such as girly catch ups, team building, birthday/crafty hen parties, team building/bonding – these can be arranged at a time to suit and with food to suit too – anything from a crafty couple of hours get together with friends (starting from £25) to a day’s bag making or two day basket weaving or upholstery workshop. Refreshments & a tasty lunch cooked in our onsite wholefood café are included on the day courses (allergies & special dietary requirements catered for – please advise on booking) as are some, if not most of the materials. There is plenty of parking in the pay & display carpark adjacent to The Hub, the art studio & Bennett Room are accessed by a flight of stairs so please ask if you require any assistance, there is also a lift.

Blended creative writing courses Work patterns and learning patterns are changing. To accommodate this new reality, as well as our in-person courses we have developed a new blended learning structure for our two-year programme. Our blended courses, aimed at local writers in the South East, are a mix of online and in person teaching, with classes taught from the Phoenix Art Space, or The Kemptown Bookshop in Brighton in early autumn and summer and online during the winter. You’ll spend the first five weeks of the Autumn Term meeting up in person, then switch to online learning as Winter sets in. We’ll stick with online classes until clocks go forward in March, then meet up again in person for the end of the Spring Term and the whole of the Summer Term. This way we make the most of what online learning has to offer, get to know each other, work together as a group, avoid travel over the winter months, stay safe and reduce our carbon footprint. Jo is a fully qualified Physiotherapist and has been working for over 17 years in the profession treating a variety of patients to include Elite athletes, Professional Ballet dancers, amateur sports participants and the general public with complex pain conditions. She completed the training to become a fully certified Modified Pilates teacher in 2003 with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute. Jo lives with her husband, daughter, their son and a springer spaniel in Barnsley and loves keeping herself fit by attending Bootcamp sessions, personal training and running. She is aiming to do her first half marathon soon. In 2006 Jo set up Flex Pilates, originally teaching classes in North Sheffield. Since then the business has expanded to Leeds and Barnsley with people of all ages and abilities enjoying the benefits of this popular exercise. As well as teaching Pilates classes Jo also works with the APPI as an International Lecturer, teaching other Health Professionals the principles of Pilates teaching, enabling them to take the exercise into their practice.
