Fi grew up in London and throughout her childhood was always either making things, drawing or painting. She did her foundation course in London and then chose to leave the city and take her degree in Fine art Painting in the beautiful city of Bath. After spending a couple of years, based in a studio group in Bristol, making her own work, she decided to move back to London and shortly thereafter she did a PGCE and began her teaching career. After having her son, and due to work commitments, Fi and her family moved to Worcester and this is where she began honing her skills as a jeweller. She is now a jewellery designer and painter, offering unique, handmade jewellery pieces which are mostly made in silver, incorporating semi precious stones and accents of gold. Jewellery commissions are regularly undertaken and include recycling of old jewellery pieces to make new. Her jewellery is inspired by the style of ancient and archaeological pieces and natural forms and aspire to having a very handmade, and 'just dug up' look. Most of the work has been hand forged but more recently Fi has employed the lost wax casting process and now also runs workshops. Vibrant colour plays a large part in both her painting, prints and jewellery. Having trained in Fine Art, she uses the studio to paint in and undertakes portrait commissions. Having a portrait painted of a loved one can be an excellent way to mark a special birthday or occasion. As with possible jewellery commissions she would be more than happy to discuss requirements and options. There are a selection of workshops which can be booked in her studio, based on jewellery making and painting. Workshops can be a fantastic way to learn a new skill or done as a group can be a wonderful experience.

During the academic year 2020-2021, NFEC held a number of online seminars which focussed on preparing for the launch in September 2022 of the three T-Levels planned for the Engineering sector; T Level technical qualification in Design and Development for Engineering and Manufacturing T Level technical qualification in Maintenance, Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing T Level technical qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Processing and Control During the course of these webinars it became clear that one of the foremost challenges facing NFEC members in delivering the new T-Levels would be in the sourcing, management and measurement of the substantial work placements of 315 hours which form part of the overall T-Level qualification. NFEC committed to collate some case studies, contributed from NFEC member colleges to illustrate the strategies that had been employed so far to build capacity for work placements, ahead of T-Level launch, and to provide shared resources to aid all members in their own planning and implementation. The report which has resulted consists of three cases studies and shared resources from three NFEC member colleges representing various settings, geographies and demographics. Martin has an degree in agriculture from Wye College, University of London. He then taught for 16 years at Writtle College specialising in financial management, agricultural trade, EU policy and business strategy. Martin also established a series of projects to link the College with other EU states to facilitate staff and student exchange, joint course delivery and the delivery of EU funded projects. He has taught short courses in Finland, the Netherlands and Romania. He continues to work closely with the education sector and now gives guest lectures on food markets and policy at the National Centre for Food Manufacturing at the University of Lincoln. Martin co-founded an import business in 1990 which he sold in 1999 and was a partner in the family farm J A Collison and Sons from 1994-2008 which supplies cut flowers to supermarkets. He founded Collison and Associates with Lynn in 2002, having been a consultant since 2000. His clients have included a wide range of commercial, public and third sector bodies and he specializes in developing strategies, projects and programmes to deliver change in rural areas. During 2012-13 Martin worked alongside the team developing the UK Agri-Tech Strategy. Martin is a member of: Greater Lincolnshire Food Board, Greater Lincolnshire Water Management Board, Norfolk Rural Development Strategy delivery group and the CLA’s Agriculture and Land Use Committee. He was Vice Chair of the Fens Adventurers Leader RDPE Group (2010-‘13) and is Chair of the Cambridgeshire Fens Leader group (2015-2020). He leads the Communications and Engagement work of Water Resources East (WRE). As well as his Higher Education, consultancy and business experience Martin was a Principal Examiner for ‘A’ Level applied business for AQA from 2000-’13 following previous work as an examiner for City and Guilds and Edexcel. For Every Cloud was established by Donna Vale in 2013, a creative venue based in Langport, a small town in the heart of the Somerset levels. Having graduated with a first class honors degree in art and textiles I wanted to create a space where people can learn, have fun, relax and make friends, this is really important but I also wanted an environment where visitors wouldn’t feel overwhelmed. My business mission statement ‘where friendship and creativity meet’ sums up the ethos of what we do at For Every Cloud. A shop and gallery stocking local art and craft features alongside my own. Workshops are held in the gallery space and studio, which is also used to teach screen printing. Both spaces can be hired by tutors and artists alike utilising their skills to teach popular classes such as needle felting. The workshop list is varied and attracts people from as far as London, France and Denmark who come with friends and family to stay in this beautiful part of the country, booking days to make and take… and of course have tea and cake. From experimental textiles to bookbinding, etching with Perspex to calligraphy, there is something here for everyone. I work alongside local B&B’s and cafes to provide an all round experience, offering bespoke events for hen parties, corporate functions and children’s birthdays and more recently, a summer school for adults. As well as workshops I create bespoke calligraphy and stationery for weddings, sublimation printing for personalised gifts. A signmaking service is also available for all your business and personal needs. It started when I began to learn more about the conditions for egg production and I realised that free-range wasn’t the wonderful happy situation that I thought it to be. The standards for labelling products as free-range are not as high as the marketing would suggest. (I am of course speaking in general terms and I know that this won’t apply to all farms, but it appears to apply to the majority). As a vegetarian at that time I’d already thought that I was quite ethically aware with what I bought, and it dawned on me that there must be many other people buying and supporting products that they also think are ethically sound, and that these people too may be interested to know more. Passion for performing arts! As a professional dancer, this prompted me to come up with an idea for a show to raise awareness on global issues and ethical living - not just animal welfare, but also climate change and human rights. However I realised that if the audience are inspired to make ethical changes or learn more, simply watching a show would not give them the tools to do that. Hence the creation of Impact – awesome events and activities to inspire change, with incredible live performances, the tools needed to live ethically and fun ways to implement everyday ethical living even for the busiest of lives! Don’t be put off by the heavy topics we’re dealing with, our events are fun and uplifting, with a vision of making positive changes. I’m not claiming to be perfect, nor am I trying to preach. I’m still learning too. I just know our planet is wonderful, as is the human race and all life that shares Earth with us.
