All projects are developed by an architect, engineer, artist in consultation with an occupational & play therapist. *STEAM is an educational approach that incorporates science, technology, engineering, art and maths Get messy We encourage our kids to get messy, to get gluey, to get sparkly, but it's okay, they all wear aprons and you won't have to clean it up. Founded in 1761, the Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society is the fourth oldest in the world and one of Scotland's most prestigious clubs located only 3 miles from Edinburgh city centre and 1 hour from The Old Course, St Andrews. The mature parkland style course was originally designed by Willie Park Jnr with later modifications by world renowned architects Dr Alister MacKenzie, James Braid and Fred Hawtree. As a testament to the quality of the venue, between 2011-2015 the R&A selected Bruntsfield as a Qualifying Venue for the Open Championship. In 2019, after a 2 year redevelopment by world renowned course architect Tom Mackenzie of Ebert & Mackenzie, the 'new layout' was opened with 6 new holes, 8 new greens and all bunkering renewed which now presents a consistent and fair but challenging course for golfers of all abilities.

AQUAnimals founder Shirley Rush started the swim school back in 2015. The swim school was hiring private pools around South Norfolk and welcomed her sister Katie to offer more lessons but found more and more that availability was limited, pools varied in cost, depth/temperature/parking availability etc yet our demand was incredibly high. In 2017 we decided to start looking for another venue that could occupy a modern, fresh swim school. We found Rookery Business Park just a mile outside Attleborough. Not only were these new well insulated buildings with solar panels supplying power, it has easy access to the A11 and pretty central for most of our existing clients. Shirley drew a sketch of the layout she felt would work and architects brought it to life in literally an hour & a half! With plans in hand and a leap of faith we applied to Breckland Council and we were a step closer to freedom! Planning permission was granted just 5 weeks after submission and 3 days later we were in the building marking the floors with what would be our changing rooms & showers! Our very own premises, state of the art pool, purpose built and all brand new. We worked really hard and were so excited to be bring lessons to life on 18th September 2017. Three months after sitting with the architect. We’ve expanded hugely since 2017; a 400% increase in numbers, we now have 7 instructors teaching 7 days a week, we provide the curriculum swimming lesson provision for four local schools, became an approved Training Centre so we can host courses & CPDs, hire the pool privately for exclusive use, holiday courses etc. And we love it! Come and join us today, make magical moments, enhance their development and learn lifesaving skills that will last forever. WHO WAS PATRICK GEDDES? Sir Patrick Geddes (1854-1932) was a lively and original thinker, a polymath of world significance, a botanist, biologist, town planner and landscape architect, and a pioneer in sociology, environmental education and the arts.Words he devised such as ‘conurbation’, ‘megalopolis’, and ‘habitat’ seemed revolutionary during his lifetime, but are now common currency. His injunction to “think global, act local” has become an environmental catch phrase. His insight that cities are constantly-evolving organic entities launched the urban and regional planning movement around the world. He was one of the first biologists to stress the prime importance of habitat in what would now be called ecology, using a method of survey and synthesis based on the principle of “Place-Work-Folk”. THE TRUST Many organisations use Patrick Geddes’ name to boost their environmental credentials, but the Memorial Trust has a unique position as the ONLY institution which still has a direct connection back to Geddes himself.
