Many companies are so worried about being sued that their training has been sanitised to the point where it no longer resembles the subject being taught. In the first aid industry, we believe this in itself is dangerous practice and as such pay particular attention to the statement made in the HSE guidelines whereby: “Training must be made relevant to the client’s work place.” Lots of courses are one course for all, this, we believe, does not fulfill the above criteria and so at ANUBIS we specialise in producing specific courses for specific groups. Our clients include: Doctors and Surgery Staff, Journalists, Outdoor Instructors, Helicopter Pilots and Crews, Expedition Leaders, Environmental Groups, Childminders, Nursery Staff and School Teachers, Pony Trekking and Off Road Vehicle Enthusiasts. Cranage Hall, the home of The Crochet Sanctuary is set on 20 acres of landscaped gardens in the Cheshire countryside, this stately property in an Elizabethan manor 1.2 miles from Holmes Chapel and 6.9 miles from Knutsford. During your stay not only can you indulge in plenty of food, yarn and workshops but you'll also get to relax and unwind in comfortable bedrooms, each guest will have their own double room as standard, no sharing, and your own bathroom, so you can starfish to your hearts content, each room includes free wifi, flat-screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. And of course if you do become all crocheted out, then we also have access to the gym and the heated indoor pool where they also provide GHD's in the changing rooms. At Cranage Hall, our crochet santuary room is held a large crochet room, so that given the current times we can social distance, we understand that many of you lead corporate lives throughout the week, so the last thing we want is for you to feel as though you're in a corporate environment for your weekend, so we make sure that all of our seats are soft and comfortable. Currently a Post graduate Researcher at the University of Leeds, researching the most efficient methods of mordanting fibres with the environment and sustainability in mind, Debbie is also an Associate of the Society of Dyers and Colourists*. Her brand, The Mulberry Dyer, was established in the early 1990’s following the completion of the City and Guilds Art and Design – Embroidery course, with a view to producing naturally dyed embroidery silks, which at that time were unavailable. Meticulous research into dyes and methods used in the 17th century resulted in the accurate reproduction of these silks. This research was then expanded to cover all periods in history and for other fibres. Examples of work can be found in the V & A Museum, Hampton Court Palace, the Globe Theatre and other Museums and Historic Houses across the UK and Europe. A specialist in the dyestuff madder, she runs courses and masterclasses and is the first dyer for many decades to successfully reproduce the Turkey Red process in Europe. Research and experimentation continue for both historical and Industrial purposes, she is currently a Post Graduate Researcher at the University of Leeds. Environmental impacts of natural dyes and mordants, colourfastness (light, wash and rub) are key to current research. For several years a consultant to Industrial Organisations wishing to add naturally dyed products to their range. A contributor to the Encyclopaedia of Medieval Dress and Textiles c450 – 1450** and with several articles published in The Journal (for Weavers, Spinners and Dyers) a book is the next step.
