At Dru we’re passionate about positive health and wellbeing. With Yoga and Meditation at our core, we care deeply about nutrition, remedies and relieving the stresses of everyday living. Our aim has always been to promote a positive, healthier and more peaceful existence for adults and children alike, giving back to the community by channeling resources into good causes. The major passion we share is our love for Yoga and Meditation. It is through these media that we initially wanted to inspire the world and the community around us to find a healthier, happier, more empowered way of living. Of course we recognize these are only two of the many routes to achieving a more fulfilling existence. However they remain at the very core of what we do here at Dru. National Energy Action, the fuel poverty charity, campaigns so everyone can afford to live in a warm and safe home. This is something denied to millions because of poor housing, low incomes, and high bills. Working across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, everything we do aims to improve the lives of people in fuel poverty. We directly support people with energy and income maximisation advice and we advocate on issues including improving the energy efficiency of our homes. We do not work alone. Partnerships and collaboration have been at the heart of NEA for over 40 years, helping us drive better health and wellbeing outcomes for people struggling to heat their homes. National Energy Action was founded in 1981 when students at Durham University established a group of volunteers to install loft insulation in the homes of elderly local people. Their experiences led them to realise there was a huge problem with people living in cold and unhealthy homes, suffering from fuel poverty. Subsequently, working with Newcastle City Council, this project was replicated on a wider scale by putting together different funding streams to develop community insulation projects. On 18 May 1981, Neighbourhood Energy Action was formally launched as a development programme of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations. Since then Neighbourhood Energy Action has evolved into National Energy Action (NEA), employing over 70 staff across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Our actions have brought real social change, enabling millions of people to access grants and assistance to help them live in a warm home. Our campaigning work has also ensured that fuel poverty is now firmly on the public policy agenda. We also work closely with our sister charity Energy Action Scotland. You can find out more about their work to tackle fuel poverty in Scotland at www.eas.org.uk

At EarthCraftuk we have over 12 years experience delivering a variety of nature based programmes including: Forest School Leader Training, Woodland Skills Continued Professional Development Workshops, school visits, youth accredited engagement programmes and experiential Forest School programmes; witnessing first-hand the transformational effects experiences in the natural world can have on the physical and mental health and wellbeing of all participants, and the fulfilling career paths it can often open up for adult participants. Green spaces promote physical activity, social interaction, exposure to sunlight and reduced pollution, which all boost health in various ways, including reduced levels of stress and anxiety, aided sleep and a feeling of connectedness with the world, and one another. We have trained over 400 participants on Forest School qualification programmes; worked with a number of community groups; supported school and youth experiential and accredited programmes and also developed a Campfire Management Award for Kent County Council and now also working with Veterans on our Health & Wellbeing programme called Veteran Trees We are very grateful to use stunning private woodland owned by the Dawes family of Mount Ephraim Gardens – a philanthropic family who support our mission.

Rochdale Connections Trust

Rochdale Connections Trust are the leading independent provider of Domestic Abuse services, family support services and targeted youth support interventions throughout the Borough of Rochdale. We were founded in 1997 by a group of local Youth Court Magistrates concerned by the number of young people coming before them who were disengaged from education with little or no family support. They soon realised that in order to impact effectively the offer of support needed to be extended to incorporate a whole family approach and employed key workers to offer supportive mentoring and bespoke interventions based on identified needs. Volunteer Mentors were recruited and utilised to provide sustained support to clients, most notably troubled adolescents and their families. 25 years after our inception the Charity is deeply embedded in the diverse local communities of Rochdale, Heywood, Middleton and The Pennines townships, particularly those with greatest need. We are trusted by residents, with a good word of mouth reputation. By knowing our community, understanding the complexity of the issues faced and evolving as an organisation to meet changing social, health and wellbeing needs. We remain wholly committed to our core work with vulnerable, disadvantaged children, young people and their families, delivering intense, supportive interventions designed to prevent disengagement including a package of bespoke mentoring support, group work and 1:1 sessions; in addition to dedicated work with the family.
