Ju Dachi Martial Arts Association was launched in 2007 and its goal is to promote and teach the true meaning and traditions of Martial Arts in a non-political manner in the UK, by providing a service based on equal opportunities for all. Our mission statement truly represents who we are as a company. All our instructors are passionate about karate and believe in a simple motto. Our motto is simple ‘Karate for all’. Everyone has the right to learn Karate in a fun and safe atmosphere for all. Below you can read our mission statement in greater detal. Promoting The True Traditions of Martial Arts What is the true meaning of Martial Arts? This is quite a complex topic. It is a sad fact that over the years many Martial Art systems, whether it is Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc… have become seriously diluted in order to make things easier for their students for the pure purpose of making money, or these systems have been diluted by individuals removing a lot of content and only teaching things that mattered to them. What these individuals forget is that their system had a foundation from which they learnt. By removing that foundation, their students train missing some of the important content, without the whole knowledge. When the student becomes an instructor, then they do the same and thus over the years Martial Arts such as Karate, Judo, Wing Chuan etc, become diluted and knowledge is then lost. We, at the Ju Dachi Martial Arts Association believe in preserving the true traditions, techniques and their meanings. This is why it takes at least 4 to 5 years to achieve 1st Dan Black Belt. We are very proud that we are preserving this knowledge and developing our systems to be effective in the real world, while never forgetting the foundations taught, and the history and origin of the martial art. Teaching In A Non Political Manner We only care about training and learning the true meanings of martial arts. We leave all the politics outside the Do Jo and concentrate on the training, learning, mastering ourselves and our students. Did you know that the only reason Karate is not in the Olympics is because there are so many organisations, and they are too divided? Our approach is simple, we teach martial arts in a traditional manner and with a practical approach for today’s day and age. We are just happy with you training at our school and being part of our martial arts family. We leave all the silly, childish bickering and debate outside the Dojo, and we always encourage our students to try and learn any other martial arts. We also open our doors to other associations, such as RKAGB, who occasionally run courses for us. Equal Opportunities For All All our students are given fair opportunities regardless of background, religion, race, sex or age. In our school of Martial Arts, all our students are taught and treated as individuals. Children learn in a fun, caring and safe atmosphere, as well as our adult students. We do not tolerate or accept racism, sexism, bullying, etc in any way shape or form, as this has no place in any Martial Art or healthy lifestyle. You will find that all our students train hard and will offer any new student a warm welcome. One of our mission statements is “Karate for all”, without any discrimination. We also run schemes with local tenant halls, to improve healthy lifestyle and keep children out of the streets in the community. All our students will be given opportunities to take part in courses, events and exams. Even though all students will have this opportunity, those who really stand out will be given a chance to become a full time instructor, and eventually all the support they need to run their own Ju Dachi Martial Arts club. At our school we all work together, and rest together and students/parents or carers can talk to the instructors directly at any time if they have any queries, or suggestions. For a long time, I worked within the Heritage Sector, leading a Visitor Experience team at several places within the South West, helping to look after special places to leave a leagacy for future generations. In 2014 and 2018 I negotiated returning to my role on a flexible working pattern after being on parental leave twice. Discovering what I wanted and making it happen In 2020, as a result of the fall out of the Covid pandemic, I took voluntary redundancy. I knew that I wanted to use my people skills in my next career path, so with my warm, calm and empathetic approach and a desire to reach and help far more people, after my own journey of self explorations, I decided I wanted to become a coach! So in 2020, I decided to make it official and went through a rigorous training programme for 11 months, to achieve my diploma and become a certified Personal Devlopment coach with The Coaching Academy. Lisa qualified as a nurse in 1988, began working in the fitness and health industry in 2003 and has been running her own successful practice since 2005. If you are contemplating transitioning your organisation to Agile ways of working, then you have probably already read numerous reports and editorials on the advantages of Agile delivery and all the improvements you can expect in terms of speed of delivery, quality of outcome and most importantly, reduced costs; but have you thought about the challenges you may face along the way? When organisations begin their Agile transformation, one of their first challenges is understanding the roles necessary to support the initiative; for example, one of the most critical but often a new concept for many organisations new to Agile delivery, is the role of the ‘Scrum Master’. The most frequently asked question is "What makes the Scrum Master role different from that of a Project Manager?" The differences are important and, in our experience, understanding them is crucial to Agile success. A strong corporate culture not accustomed to the Agile mindset can also be a difficult environment in which to implement Agile methods. In some cases, the company’s culture and practices may reward non-Agile milestones while inadvertently discouraging Agile success. In other words, If the correct framework for the new delivery concept is not in place, Agile adoption can be extremely difficult. When a company maintains a non-Agile framework and then tries to shoe-horn in Agile practices, they often end up accomplishing less at greater cost while also achieving lower quality results which, ultimately leads them to somehow conclude that, it is Agile that does not work. In the late 1990’s and into the New Millennium, things were changing and stirring…. Disciples of Jesus were trying new and different things in response to where they saw the Holy Spirit at work. People in a number of denominations and mission agencies worked together reflecting on the 90’s church-planting movement and beginning a process of investing and pioneering new forms of church. These fresh expressions weren’t simply a fad or an attempt to be cool but looked to address a rapidly changing culture in the UK and a change in attitude to attending church and to a spiritual life. New things were taking place in different contexts, locations, times, as these different expressions sought to re-imagine church for this new environment, whilst staying true to a missional and Christ-centred gospel. In 2004 the Mission Shaped Church Report, instigated by Archbishop Rowan Williams, listened and noticed what was happening, and new language began to develop such as ‘the mixed economy.’ The report went on to make recommendations for the future practice of this pioneering mission movement. It has gone on to be one of the most widely read and purchased Church of England reports ever. It argued that… “The time has come to ensure that any Fresh Expression of Church that emerge within the Church, or are granted a home within it, are undergirded with an adequate ecclesiology” Mission Shaped Church Report All of this was exciting and encouraging for many practitioners at the time who were working hard to disciple people and develop new and imaginative expressions of Church but found them hard to be accepted as ‘church.’ The report recognised their importance, placed value on their role in a ‘mixed economy’ or Church and furthermore recognised the need for the “identification, selection and training of pioneer church planters, for both lay and ordained furthermore recognised the need for the “identification, selection and training of pioneer church planters, for both lay and ordained ministers” (MSC pg.147.) From this the Fresh Expressions initiative was born, as a partnership between the Church of England and the Methodist Church and initially led by Bishop Steven Croft (now Bishop of Oxford) with Revd Peter Pillinger as the Methodist Team Leader. Over the next 15 years new denominational partners joined the movement – the United Reformed Church, the Salvation Army, the Church of Scotland and the Baptist Union of Great Britain – all of whom identify growth and encouragements in these new experiments in Church. The initial team identified: “a Fresh Expression is a form of church for our changing culture established primarily for the benefit of people who are not yet members of any church”

A non-profit association of volunteers under the banner of the Basavanagudi Aquatic Centre (BAC) was formed on December 7, 1986 under the leadership of Mr. R. Neelakanta Rao Jagdale. Mr. Jagdale has taken keen interest in the activities of the Centre. In the midst of his busy schedule as an industrialist, he has acquired considerable knowledge in the science of swimming training by obtaining certification from the American Swimming coaches Association (ASCA). The association is registered as a society under the Karnataka state societies ACT 1960. The name of the association has been subsequently changed to Basavangudi Aquatic Centre. BAC - 25 Years and Beyond Since December 1986, 25 consecutive state team championship awards. 2451 medals to the Karnataka state at the National-level Swimming Competitions. 285 National records at the National-level Swimming Competitions. 123 medals to the country at International-level swimming competitions by around 120 swimmers. Over 70 medals to the Karnataka state in the National Games conducted at Poona, Bangalore, Manipur, Hyderabad and Guwahati. Three Olympic participants - Nisha Millet (2000), Rehan Poncha (2008). and Gagan Ullalmath (2012) Four Arjun Award winners - Nisha Millet, Abhijith J. Rao, Rehan Poncha, and Prasanth Karmakar Over 23 Ekalavya Award winners. Karnataka Olympic Association Award to the President, Mr. Neelakanta Rao R. Jagdale and head coach, Mr. Pradeep Kumar. Basavanagudi Aquatic Centre (BAC) is one of the few sports clubs in India, which has completed 25 glorious years and takes pride in being the first swimming organization in Karnataka, where the Public-private Partnership took place and is being executed successfully. Today, it provides training using scientific methods to more than 500 swimmers on a regular basis, and over 600 swimmers during the weekend programs. BAC conducts "Learn to Swim” camps during the summer (April and May) and winter (October) seasons to impart basic water safety skills to the children and adults. Over 3000 swimmers aged between 6 to 12 years are taught water safety skills during these camps every year. BAC believes in tapping talented children at young age through their school programs. The Centre is associated with schools in the Basavangudi area and teaches basic swimming skills. The Centre provides well-maintained and hygienically-clean pool to the general public. The swimming pools at the Centre have been acclaimed as the best maintained swimming pools in the country.
