kafue gorge regional training centre
The Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre (KGRTC), a registered trust in Zambia,
is a well established institution controlled by a regional Board of Trustees
(BOT) from Malawi, Eswatini, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. KGRTC
operates independently with 63 members of staff on its establishment. KGRTC was
established in 1989, with the support of NORAD and Sida, to provide competitive
specialized training solutions in hydropower and related fields to electricity
utilities in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and Sub-Saharan
regions. KGRTC is ISO 9001 certified and a Grade One registered institution with
the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority
(TEVETA). The Centre has been recognised by the Association of Power Utilities
in Africa [APUA] as a Centre of excellence in Africa. KGRTC has also earned an
international reputation for quality training and provision of excellent
accommodation, catering and conference facilities.
