Here at Ace Swim School we provide fun, friendly and high quality swimming lessons for babies and children. Lessons at Ace are taught by highly qualified, passionate and experienced STA instructors. Over the years we have helped many children take to the water with confidence and we would love to have your child join the fun too! We specialise in teaching children in small groups, a maximum of 4 children to one teacher, meaning you really do get the most out of your lessons! Children around the age of 4 years old can swim with just the instructors in the pool, however every child is different and so this can vary from child to child. Our aim at Ace is to ensure that each lesson is filled with fun, making it a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for ALL swimming abilities and of course Safety is a paramount consideration in everything we do. Not only do we teach babies and children how to swim, we teach them vital life saving skills, water safety and water confidence. Music has played an important part in my life since primary school days. At first I learnt organ, - the electronic organ was having its heyday and I was fully involved. As a young teenager I would demonstrate these instruments for local retailers at 'road show' events throughout Northern Ireland. A major highlight was performing at a public concert in the Ulster Hall, Belfast, along with organ legend Reginald Dixon (of Tower Ballroom Blackpool, Wurlitzer fame) when I was only 14 years of age. At the same time I was progressing with my formal music education both at school (A-Level Music), and with private tutors on both classical organ & piano. I successfully passed ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal School of Music) Grade 8 at the age of 17, and later went on to earn 'merit' in a Guildhall School of Music Performance Exam. I have held the post of organist and choirmaster at churches in Northern Ireland and here in the North East. I have also provided entertainment (Organ & Drums Duo) at functions and dinner dances, and performed on both Radio & TV. My teaching experience spans 30+ years, and to help me continue progressing in my understanding of latest teaching ideas I've attended a number of ABRSM professional development sessions, and completed their highly respected and accredited Teaching Music Effectively course. I also participated in a two day Music Teacher Conference entitled Nurturing potential, Encouraging success. And, in association with Music Mark, attended Musical Progression and the role of assessment sessions to keep my skills right up to date.

I am a qualified Grade A ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) and, although it is not mandatory for me to be a qualified instructor I feel that the knowledge I have gained whilst training to be an ADI will greatly benefit my customers, I also hold a C+E (Class 1) HGV licence. I have owned horses for over 30 years and ran a successful horse transport business, transporting all types of horses and ponies across the country. Customers who undertake a towing course with Driver Training will benefit from being able to do their training in a comfortable car which has all the modern conveniences (heated seat, air-con, etc.), whilst towing an Ifor Williams 510 trailer which will replicate a vehicle of similar size if they are transporting horses or want to tow a caravan. If you are wanting to become a paramedic, ambulance technician or drive ambulances over 3.5 tonnes you will need a C1 category on your license ( if you passed your driving test after January 1998 you will need to do an additional test). Also horseboxes between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes require this license and motorhomes and large vans. Driver Training run courses which cover all your training including the 3a (reversing) and 3b (on road drive) tests, advice is also available for D2, medical (D4), and theory tests. Based in Chesterfield we also cover Sheffield, Nottingham and surrounding areas. Our C1 Training and test is carried out in an Iveco Daily 7 tonne van and all C1 courses include both the 3a and 3b test fees. Liz Driver
