We are in a specialist school building designed by experts and architects through the Department for Education's 'Building Schools for the Future' initiative. Our teams have worked hard to design and embed our research-informed curriculum which emphasises ‘Deep Learning’ by responding to each student’s point of learning. There is a range of expertise throughout this school, from our highly skilled teachers and teaching assistants to a range of teams and leaders. Together, we ensure every child’s needs are met. Our teachers lead their class team through shared goals which are informed by parents, families, NHS Therapists, CAMHS professionals, and the Multi-agency Support Team. We place this vision at the heart of an integrated provision that values the power of partnerships and collaboration. Our mission across the 2022-2023 academic year is an authentic focus on reducing the impacts of the pandemic on our vulnerable community. We have formal partnerships for this academic year to enhance the role of our pupils within the local community, and to equally bring the world into the classroom through a whole school immersive technology. We are also working with key organisations through our Centre of Excellence to develop inclusion in mainstream schools, train future teachers, support the professional development of educators, and collaborate on research initiatives. After a four year degree studying French, German and Spanish - I decided the obvious thing to do next was teach English in Japan! Random - but I’m so thankful I made this decision: because it was my introduction to teaching and set me on the path as an educator. 3 years later, I trained as a yoga teacher in Scotland, before moving to Cornwall and deciding I wanted to be a Primary School Teacher. I wanted to share with kids so much about life and the world! Teaching was, admittedly, harder than expected. I loved elements but hated others. I’d always prioritised my health and wellbeing - but I found myself becoming stressed like I’d never experienced before. I know now that if I’d have continued to prioritise my own wellbeing, not only would teaching have been easier - but the children would have also benefited so much more. This is one of the key reasons Class Yoga is here: to raise the wellbeing of educators, so that the pupils benefit in turn. (Listen to more on this, here.) I believe we need to look after our own wellbeing to raise the wellbeing of our pupils I started to share yoga when I could. I got to see what worked and what didn’t; and I got a glimpse of some promising results. But when I left full-time teaching and started supply (and sharing more yoga) I started getting called back - to teach yoga! Because now the clear evidence, of greater calm and focus in children in the classroom after yoga, was shining out! So began my calling to teach yoga to more children, in more schools. Over this time, I developed and refined my method of teaching mindful movement to children, that I still teach and train others in, today. The ECA fully support Recolight, and recommends to their members that they join the Recolight collection network. ALL-PARTY PARLIAMENTARY SUSTAINABLE RESOURCE GROUP – (APSRG) The APSRG is the leading forum informing the debate between parliamentarians, business leaders and the sustainable resource community. The Group’s mission is to provide an objective platform for effective communication between policy-makers, businesses and organisations with an interest in the sustainable resource management agenda. The APSRG organises a regular programme of focused parliamentary events, conducts detailed policy research projects and provides in-depth parliamentary monitoring and analysis. JOINT TRADE ASSOCIATIONS Recolight is a guest participant in the Joint Trade Associations (JTA). The JTA is an alliance of nine of the UK’s main trade associations representing the electrotechnical industries, including LIA, EEF, AMDEA, and TechUK. The JTA was formed to represent the views of EEE producers to Government and the market regarding producer responsibility obligations, including the WEEE Regulations. JTA is an unincorporated body and is not a legal entity. THE INDUSTRY COUNCIL FOR ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT RECYCLING – ICER Recolight are a member of ICER, an industry body that represents the WEEE sector. Members include producers of electronic and electrical equipment, compliance schemes, waste management companies, treatment facilities and recyclers. It is the forum for industry to work together with government and regulators on WEEE policy and implementation.

When legislation was introduced in 1884 to create a state Normal School, local civic and business leaders marshaled support to purchase the 100-acre site of a former convent and school and offer it as the site of the new state school. The selection was announced in October 1884 and a short, two-month session began in March 1885 with an enrollment of 60 students. In 1921, the Louisiana State Normal School, which initially offered a 2-year degree program to prepare educators, began offering a 4-year educator degree program and was renamed the Louisiana Normal College. In 1944, the further expansion of degree offerings led to the school’s name being changed to Northwestern State College. In 1970, the college achieved university status and was renamed the title it still holds today: Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Ever-growing, Northwestern State also serves the region at its off-campus instructional sites in Shreveport, Alexandria and Fort Polk. Never just pack away, leave it out and come back to it. P Timing is EVERYTHING. Never plan an activity when your little one is tired or hungry. This will never go to plan. P2 For any ‘messy play’ get yourself a large double fitted sheet. Place a chair leg/ table leg/ large soft animal into each corner. This will create a space to keep the mess in! Simon Brooks works with schools and educators around the world interested in building cultures of thinking, where children delight in their learning and develop deep, meaningful and lasting understanding through the process of becoming critical and creative thinkers. Simon holds an Honour's degree in English Literature from Cardiff University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Worcester, and a Master of Educational Studies degree from the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia. In 2014, he was the recipient of the prestigious UNSW Dean's Leadership Award, and was honoured to become a fellow of the Project Zero Institute at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is currently in the process of writing a book introducing a new framework for teaching and learning called Curiosity-Based-Learning. Educator - Facilitator - Change Agent Simon has enjoyed many years’ experience in senior educational leadership roles, working in both government and independent sectors in the UK and Australia. His first significant leadership role was as Head of English at Cleeve School in Cheltenham, UK. Following this, Simon spent ten years as Director of Teaching and Learning at Masada College in Sydney Australia, developing close connections with Dr. Ron Ritchhart and the Project Zero team at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In this role, Simon led the transformation of the school into a lighthouse school for Cultures of Thinking pedagogy and practice, and became a key influencer in the cultures of thinking movement in Australia. Simon’s most recent in-school role prior to becoming an independent educational consultant in 2016 was as Regional Principal for an international network of independent schools. In 2017, Simon became a founding member of the Project Zero Sydney Network, and continues his work with this not-for-profit organisation designed to share Harvard Project Zero ideas with the educational community. In 2018, Simon and his family moved from Sydney to Cheltenham in the UK, and he continues to work closely with partner schools in the UK, Australia and around the world.
