Our business was founded in July 2011 and offers skills based training to gain on site experience increasing knowledge to progress into industry, regenerating some of the 380,000 empty spaces and empty shops across the United Kingdom. Our business offers industry placements, mentoring, advice and guidance. Up skilling the next generation of young people to help close the increasing skills gap. Our team offers a number of opportunities through industry placements on our TV programme Transforming Spaces‘ Design Factor’ featured on BBC. Since launch 8,500 young people directly up skilled of which 70% have progressed onto training, employment or Starting Up. Our construction sites are 50/50 gender split and our teams have re-generated 16 empty spaces, empty homes, heritage buildings and worked on Wales largest road scheme a £400 million programme. REAL ISSUES * Nearly 1 million young people unemployed * Over 380,000 empty spaces & empty shops in the UK *  Over 220 million tons of waste generated for Landfill * Only 3% of women in manual trades, 5% in engineering and only 2% of female owned businesses in Wales Transforming Spaces: Design Factor Our construction projects transforms empty and unused spaces through working with the community on the planning, design and build. Working with build experts and volunteers from the community it acts like DIY SOS/60 minute makeover. The aim is to up skill young people and members of the community to gain on site experience. If you have an empty space or empty building our team will work with you on the planning, design and rebuild of the space to turn it into a thriving community provision. Training on the site includes: planning, construction, managing budgets, Marketing, enterprise, business and managing the whole project. Our team and the experts will work on site for around one week to re-build the space and encourage volunteers to become involved and progress into training, employment or Starting Up. Helping people to gain vital industry experience to progress their career. The whole process is filmed and broadcast. Our build projects have included Wales First Garden City Café, The Hope Centre-Newport, Blaenau Gwent Community Hub-Waundeg, Empty Shops Project-Cardiff & Newport, State of the Art Cinema Room using Recycled Pallets- Cwmbran Centre for Young People, Penygraig Empty Shop, Newport Heritage Building. Meet the team behind Wellbeing in Your Home Gosia Federowicz Yoga, Creativity & Cooking, Co-Founder of Wellbeing in Your Home Gosia loves teaching yoga and meditation, which she’s been doing since 2012 and has over 700 hours of yoga teacher training including 500h Yoga Alliance certified Advanced training. She’s been teaching corporate yoga and meditation classes since 2014, both in offices in person as well as via digital platforms. Her passion is seeing her students transform through yoga and meditation, becoming calmer, more focused and productive. Her yoga path has taken her through many different styles over the years, which has strengthened her own practice and her teaching, as well as helped her become a more confident person and lead a healthier life overall. Gosia is a mum to 2 year old Sophia and when not practicing or teaching yoga, she looks after her vegetable and flower garden, loves writing, mixed media art, baking and cooking, as well as learning Spanish and travelling. Her motto is ‘to just step on the mat and take it one breath at a time’. Zach Fairbanks Mindfulness Meditation & Aikido, Co-Founder of Wellbeing in Your Home Zach is a qualified Mindfulness Meditation teacher completing his training with Mindfulness Now recognised with the British Psychological Society(BPS). A bulk of his knowledge and experience comes through Aikido which he currently holds 5th Dan so Hombu at the World Headquarters Aikikai. Zach has been practicing Aikido for over 35 years and has travelled to the Headquarters in Tokyo Japan several times for regular instruction. Zach says ‘Aikido is a training system for mind and body. It has martial, spiritual, mental and physical fitness benefits’. There are many principles to be learnt and discovered though constant practice that can be applied in many situations of work and life – Connection over Attachment, Harmony, Centring and Shoshin – beginners mind. Essentially, Aikido is an embodiment of Mindfulness Meditation’ Zach openly suffers with anxiety and it can very often take its toll, especially when attempting too much multi tasking or chasing perfection. In order to help with this, Zach started yoga to compliment Aikido. Then, through yoga, he learnt to meditate something that is very much part of Aikido. “When I finally understood the point of meditation and practiced it daily, I became more grounded and centered”.

Autism Anglia is an independent charity that provides care and support to autistic children, adults, and their families in East Anglia. Services in Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk, managed from office in Colchester, offer personalised approaches that provide each individual with the necessary skills and strategies to enable them to realise their own strengths and abilities. The charity also seeks to promote greater knowledge and understanding of autism through training, education, and supplying information to the public and professionals. We offer numerous services for autistic people and their families, including: The origins of the charity started back in the early 1970s with families living in Essex and Norfolk independently realising that there was no specialist provision for their children who were on the Autism Spectrum. This lack of provision resulted in two entirely separate organisations being operated and managed up until 2008 when negotiations brought about the successful merger and the formation of Autism Anglia. From similar beginnings to where you find us now; here are the key points. 1970 The Norwich and Norfolk Society for Autistic Children was formed by five families affected by autism. 1973 Two sets of parents with newly diagnosed children setup up the Essex Society for Autistic Children. 1977 Doucecroft School opened in Kelvedon for children up to 16 years old. 1983 Provision extended to include services for young adults with an Adult Life Care Centre and the name was changed to The Essex Autistic Society. Norfolk Autistic Community Housing Association (NACHA) formed to provide residential homes to people with autism. The Norwich and Norfolk Society for Autistic Children changed its name to the Norfolk Autistic Society. 1994 The Norfolk Autistic Society Trust Fund established to benefit people with autism and their families. 1999 Further Education facilities for 16-19-year-olds given a dedicated campus in Kelvedon. 2004 Family Support service launched to help individuals and families affected by autism. Through collaboration, the Norfolk Autistic Society provided short breaks for children with autism and learning disabilities. 2005 Doucecroft School moved from Kelvedon to purpose-built facilities in Eight Ash Green, Colchester. 2008 NACHA merged with The Essex Autistic Society and the new charity changed its name on 1 May to Autism Anglia which better reflected its area of operation.
