I found my love for ceramics while studying the Art Foundation course at De Montfort University (Leicester, England); we had inductions into some of the craft workshops, ceramics included. I really enjoyed working with clay, the making was so much fun, so many different options to explore and experiment with. The most exciting moment for me was collecting my piece from the kiln, not knowing what it was going to turn out like; the magical moment when you see the finished piece in all its glory, that’s what sold it to me in an instant. ...although I have always been addicted to everything art & crafts since I was a little girl, from the day I could hold a pencil I have been drawing and creating ever since; it’s always been my passion!

The University was founded as Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland University College in 1921. The site for the University was donated by a local businessman, Thomas Fielding Johnson, in order to create a living memorial for all local people who made sacrifices during the First World War. Established in 2011, Health Link Services (UK) is a growing Accredited Social Enterprise Training company which delivers tailor made bespoke short courses or longer-term training programs. We hold approved centre status with two awarding bodies, so that we can offer both accredited and non-accredited programs to suit your organisations training needs. Health Link Services (UK) works with individuals from different communities, community organisations and different companies registered in Health and Social Care. Our training facilities are equipped with computers, chairs and desks, a health care bed, a hoist as well as First Aid Kit equipment, so that we are able to give practical illustrations during Mandatory Training in Care. We offer our clients the flexibility of training their employees at our training venue or sending our trainers at the venues themselves. Our customers are also able to do our online courses and then they are able to attend our practical training aspects at our centre. This is for courses like People Movers Moving & Handling, Basic First Aid and Medication.

Overdale Junior School is a multicultural academy school in the Local Authority of Leicester, and is a friendly and welcoming place where we promote creativity and the enjoyment of learning. We are situated on the southern edge of the city of Leicester in a mainly residential area. Our school campus is shared with Overdale Infant School, with which there is increasingly close liaison. The school was opened in September 1956, with a new extension added in 2009. We have 16 mixed ability classes across Years 3 to 6 and the children develop strong relationships with the teachers and peers through their learning and extracurricular activities. We are fortunate to have a great deal of outside space at the school, including all weather playgrounds, a sports field and a wooded area and we are an established Forest School to make even more use of the green space around the school for learning opportunities.
