Safe for All was formed by Anita August who has worked with disadvantaged groups in East London, both as a trainer and manager of a community project for over 13 years. Anita became aware of the significant impact that accredited training in First Aid and Health and Safety had on the employability and life skills of disadvantaged groups. Over the past four years (2006-2010) our senior trainers have been working in partnership with the College of North East London to deliver Health and Safety training to Haringey employees at all levels who are involved in delivering and managing front line services in Adult Social Care, including managers and employees of residential projects for adults with dementia, severe learning difficulties and mental health problems. The training has been extended to also deliver to services delivering childcare facilities including, nurseries, schools and childminders. Safe for All also specialises in delivering training to the Hospitality and Leisure Industries, Schools and Nurseries, Voluntary and Community Organisations, Social Enterprises and is expanding in to the Construction industry and Corporate Sector. Safe for All only uses qualified instructors who have a wealth of experience and knowledge gained from working in an operational Health and Safety and First Aid background, for example, Nurses, Lifeguards, Environmental Health Officers, Health & Safety Representatives and the Emergency Services. All associates have to demonstrate their competence through rigorous assessment of their training. All training associates are CRB checked. Safe for All’s Directors are professionals with extensive experience of managing private, public and third sector organisations and empowering disadvantaged people and communities in London. The Directors and training associates are committed to creating a more inclusive society and enabling everyone to access First Aid and Health and Safety training regardless of circumstance. Anita also identified a lack of affordable training provision and training resources for people with disabilities. Community groups she worked with encouraged her to make her services as widely available as possible. Hence Safe for All was born. Safe for All was formed with a vision to increase the availability of such training and is 50 per cent governed by people with disabilities.

Since the birth of Lifetime Learning, the organisation has grown and further providing more courses. Lifetime Learning’s main source of funding is achieved through Analyse School Performance (ASP) Training and Consultancy. Analyse School Performance (ASP) Training and Consultancy is provided for all schools and local authorities, analysing the school’s performance and progress data. The mission is to provide quality and multifaceted courses in education and training for Early Years, Primary, Secondary, Special, Church and Independent Schools. Lifetime Learning started off providing IT Training to disadvantaged young people in Tower Hamlets. We are proud of our school; it has a very long heritage and a very bright future. The foundation of our school is an old one. We are the only secondary school, in the United Kingdom, to bear the name of King Charles I. Although he gave us our charter in 1636, the foundation was established by Thomas Blount, esq., Lord of the Manor of Kidderminster, some 70 years earlier. A document dated 1609 describes the origins of the school. Various lands acquired by the Parish Church of St. Mary and All Saints as investments were confiscated by the State during the Protestant Reformation and early in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, Roger Maunsell of Pedmore purchased them. He levied penal rents and following an appeal from the tenants to the Lord of the Manor, Thomas Blount bought the lands and arranged in 1566 that the rents should be used to endow a free grammar school in Kidderminster “for the instruction of youth in good letters and manners”. In the 1630s an inquiry was held into the administration of the endowments and as a result of this the charter was granted by King Charles I in 1636. This charter which was part of one given to the town, laid down the manner in which the school should be run and lasted over 200 years. From 1566 to 1848 the School was carried out in the Chantry of the Parish church of St Mary and All Saints although it was not a chantry school. In 1848 the school moved to the site known as Woodfield on Bewdley Road. In the mid-nineteenth century King Charles I School, like most other ancient schools in England, was reorganised under schemes devised by the endowed schools commissioners and the charity commissioners to meet an increasing demand for secondary education in which england seemed to have fallen woefully behind other european countries. In 1902 the school became ‘grant aided’ within Worcestershire County Council; this status was continued as ‘voluntary aided’ until after 1944. In order to provide finance for accommodation thought necessary in the late 1950’s the school became ‘voluntary controlled’ in 1958 and remained as such up to April, 2012 when it became an academy.

Retune was founded by Tom Ryder. Tom is a musician and journalist, and has a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. He was hospitalised for poor mental health multiple times during his late teens and early twenties, which eventually forced him to withdraw from university and begin again from scratch. While in hospital, Tom noticed that patients were finding creative outlets to cope with their predicament. These outlets included drawing, painting, writing poetry, dancing, singing and cooking. Tom wrote songs and, despite those dark times, he realised creativity’s tremendous potential to improve mental health; it is crucial to have an outlet for feelings and emotions. A few years later, Tom started hosting live gigs. He also ran workshops in schools, connecting with young people who were experiencing mental struggles. In 2018, Retune started to take shape: in addition to live shows and schools, Tom now visited prisons and hospitals, and produced online content. Tom’s cousin Kathryn Bailey – a photographer, videographer and all-round creative – joined the project in 2019. As well as sharing Tom’s view that creative outlets are powerful tools for mental wellbeing, Kathryn had a personal attachment to Retune's mission... When Tom was first admitted to hospital, 11-year-old Kathryn was shielded from the truth, as she was considered ‘too young’ to know what was going on. Being involved with Retune allows her to be part of a cause that is close to her heart, especially as Retune’s workshops discuss mental wellbeing with all ages, from primary school pupils to adults. Open conversations around wellbeing are more commonplace nowadays, but there is still a long road ahead. Through its workshops and live shows, Retune is creating a community based around mental wellbeing, underpinned by creativity. When we retune something, such as a musical instrument or a radio, we make small adjustments in order to achieve harmony, clarity and balance. Retune believes that the same theory can be applied to mental health. Harnessing creative outlets that engage the imagination, and following the principles of the SCALES model, can help all of us to make small adjustments. As a result, our mental wellbeing will be more in tune.

She taught her first Yoga class in 2008 and has 1000s of hours of teaching and training experience since then. She passionately specialises in Yoga & Massage for Women's Health - Womb Health, Fertility, Pregnancy, Postnatal &, peri/menopause years. She regularly teaches Yin & Hatha Yoga, Yoga in the Workplace, Children's Yoga and Yoga for Mental Wellbeing. I taught my first Yoga class Yoga in 2008 and founded Yogababe in 2010. I initially trained for 3 years (500 hours) with the British Wheel of Yoga whilst I was pregnant and caring for young children. Naturally I adapted my Yoga style to suit Conception, Pregnancy, Birth and the Postnatal period. I decided to train with with Uma Dinsmore Tuli in Well Woman Yoga Therapy to help me maintain equilibrium both in my personal journey and helping other women. I have now completed many hours of extra study and training since so I can share Yoga practices with you and help you on your journey.. "My Yoga is totally adaptable and changes to suit whatever life brings me - it has helped me through transformative times . I bring adaptability into my teaching - there is always a Yoga practice to be had, whatever life stage you are at - whether physical posture, meditation, pranayama, song..... I was introduced to Yoga as a child, as my mother was also a Yoga teacher. But it wasn't until my early twenties that I rocked up at a random class in London, on my office job lunch break. I began to feel truly at peace and at home in myself on the mat. "I always said, I would train to be a Yoga teacher if I was still unhappy in my office job at 30. In fact, it happened way before that. I spent time in ashrams in India whilst travelling - Auroville, Tamil Nadu and the Sivananda Ashram, Kerala - they both taught me how Yoga can be 'lived' and it became an intrinsic part of my life. After travelling, I started my teacher training course with Elaine Fletcher and i haven't looked back. Having children transformed my practice and helped me find solace and interest in the subtler Yoga practices. Stronger postures often felt 'not quite right' especially when my body felt like it was giving up, suffering from pelvic & back issues, fatigue & postnatal depression. I learnt a lot at that time and now I am passionate in adapting Yoga practices to suit every body and mind. I actively promote mental health and wellbeing as well as developing self-awareness. Over the years I have taught classes in numerous gyms, and Schools, and collaborated with organisations such as MIND, MS Society, CoastNet, NE Essex Primary Care Trust and Barnardos.... "My personally practice changes every day according to my needs. I love a bit of Yin Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga and Yoga Nidra when i'm feeling exhausted....'
