Having a dog is one of the most incredible experience's life can offer. Or so I was told. I found a great breeder who I met at a show. Her dogs were beautiful, and my heart melted as I watched them trot around the show ring. I couldn't wait for my boy to arrive. Prior to him joining the family, I spent hours watching and reading books to prepare for his arrival. So, he arrives, and I was over the moon, to put it lightly. Four weeks into having this tiny, lively puppy, who was 12 weeks old, I got the shock of my life! My little Ted, my beautiful boy, gave me the biggest, angriest bite you could imagine. His teeth crushed my fingers, leaving them bruised and bloody. This was not a dog but a Tasmanian devil. Although my hand hurt, my heart was crushed. It's very easy to fall out of love with a dog you can't trust. As you can imagine, I was devastated and realised that I needed to learn more so this incident didn't happen again. I spent an enormous amount of time researching and putting into practice what I had learnt. I found that the style of "Old School Punishment" just wasn't working with Ted. I understand why looking back with the knowledge I am blessed with now. There is so much information out there, books, television programmes, YouTube videos, blogs. It's a minefield and so easy to travel down the wrong path, and I certainly had taken the wrong path for Ted and me. Unfortunately, I learned how to be mean, how to shout and even hurt my puppy, asserting my dominance, to show him who was boss and Nip it in the Bud. Honestly, in a world where we already control our dogs, be it when they're fed, what is given, when we take them for a walk, who they can stop and say hello to, when and if they can have a treat. How much control do we need? Fortunately, very fortunately, I met a fabulous lady called Lynda Edmondson, who ran a doggy dancing class near me. It was here that I was introduced to a totally different world of training, of positive reinforcement where you motivated your dog to learn and work as a team. These times were truly magical, filled with fun, and my eyes were opened to a kind way to train. I learnt to love my dog for who he was, to stop focussing on the negative. We then attended a monthly clicker workshop with Lynda, and this was when Ted and me came into our own, and I loved to show off what we could both achieve together. Ted is an English toy Terrier with a huge personality which I fully appreciate and can now accept. After many years on a journey of learning and training to become a specialist in my field, which was initially to support Ted, I qualified with the IABTC. I completed their dog training and behavioural modification course. I now enjoy a career that I love. I am still committed to learning and keep up to date with new research. In my previous life, I was a time and motion technician in a clothing factory. I would study people, then create a process to train others to complete the work more efficiently. Saving companies time and money. I suppose it's quite similar to what I am offering you as a dog trainer. I will study your dog and your relationship, then create a process of training that can be carried out and repeated to improve behaviour. Reduce the amount of time wasted looking online, reading endless books, leaving you none the wiser. Tap into my knowledge and all of the time and money I've spent learning how not to do things as much as how to do things. My main aim is to set you up to succeed. If you are successful, then I'm successful. I will give you my full support to learn how to make immediate changes, enjoy the mischief and appreciate your dog's true personality. My earliest memories of doing yoga are with my mother as a child. I was brought up with an awareness of wellbeing, physical fitness and nutrition and I had a very sporty childhood. After a career in modelling and working in events where the pressure to be thin was high, I refused to diet and instead used physical exercise and nutrition to keep myself in shape for work. My interest in exercise and healthy eating led me to pursue a career as a Personal Trainer which I did for a good few years. I loved this work but didn’t feel it always gave me the opportunity to work with a person holistically. Clients often neglected their mental health and did not make stretching a priority which I believed to be so important for overall body health so I embarked upon some yoga qualifications and my journey as a yoga teacher began. I knew this to be my future work so after a short break to have my children, I took a 200 hour teacher training in Vinyasa Flow with the well renowned Claire Missingham. I have been teaching ever since. I took on our beautiful studio in November 2018 and I feel very lucky to call it my place of work and do what I do each day. Life is busy and sometimes stressful and demanding. It can be easy to neglect our wellbeing. Practices like yoga, breathwork and meditation help guide us towards strategies to help manage our lives and take better care of ourselves. I believe that yoga is for everyone and that you should be able to practice in a way that compliments your body and your needs. Some like to practice slow and some like to be more dynamic, some need a practice that is kind to an injury or an ailment/illness. Some are beginners and some have been practicing for years. At Ener-G Yoga studio we really try to offer a large range of classes that help people to find the type of yoga that works for them. Her public school was not the right place for her, but neither were the local private schools. Academically-oriented private schools do not accept students with poor grades. Schools that accept students with poor grades are not always academically rigorous. Stalemate. Until we started FlexSchool. Jane spent six years at FlexSchool, learned to love learning again, graduated in 2020, and attends a well-known liberal arts college studying anthropology, linguistics, map-making, and art.

The London Suzuki Group ( LSG ) was founded in 1972 and was the first group in the United Kingdom to teach music by the Suzuki Method. With 60 qualified teachers and over 600 children currently receiving tuition, the LSG runs individual and group classes, orchestral and chamber music courses, workshops and an annual residential summer course at Bryanston School in Dorset. The group offers instruction in violin, viola, cello, piano, flute, recorder and voice. Public and private concerts are regularly organised at venues throughout London and elsewhere, providing much more than the opportunity to learn an instrument. Lottie has been practicing yoga for over 15 years and teaching for 10 years. She is a 500 hour registered teacher, holds the Yoga Campus Teacher Training Diploma and is accredited with the British Wheel of Yoga. Lottie has trained with some world-renowned teachers and and her classes draw upon the various styles she has been taught including Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Iyengar and Sivananda. She teaches Yin Yoga and Flow Yoga for mixed abilities and beginners classes with sequences that can be modified to make them more/less challenging depending on the student’s level. She includes asanas (poses) for strength and flexibility with a focus on alignment, pranayama (breathing) exercises to calm the mind, meditation to cultivate inner awareness and relaxation to allow the body and mind to rest and rejuvenate. A regular yoga practice ensures a healthy mind and body. What brought me to Yoga and why I do it? I was looking to improve my flexibility and to aid relaxation. Like many people I wondered what to expect at my first class, but I was hooked from the beginning and came away feeling calmer and more energised, ready to take on life. It brought me an hour of calm in my day. I was eager to learn the asanas (poses) and their Sanskrit names (classic language of ancient India), the breathing exercises and always savoured resting in Corpse pose (Savasana) at the end of class. I then decided to explore yoga in more depth, learn about the philosophy and anatomy and to teach yoga to others, so I enrolled on the Diploma course with Yogacampus where I was taught by some truly inspiring yoga teachers including Lisa Sanfilippo, Jo Manuel, Katrina Repka, Liz Lark, Aadil Palkhivala, Doug Keller and Dr. Ruth Gilmore. I was introduced to Yoga & Meditation as a teenager in the 1970s, have been teaching since 2014. Recognising the different qualities yoga can bring, I offer a range of physical styles, some very gentle and others more strenuous, along with meditation and relaxation. While I love the sense of strength, openness, and resilience, that a strong physical practice can offer, I’m increasingly astonished by the transformative power of more gentle and subtle approaches to bodywork, allowing a more intimate sensing of the body, the breath, and emotions and bringing an ease into being in the world. I embrace the variety and seek to share this in my classes as I draw on the influences of a range of body-mind practices – some thousands of years old, some contemporary – including Hatha Yoga, Yin-Restorative Yoga, Somatics, Feldenkrais & Yoga Nidra. I love to teach people of all ages and levels of experience in a way that encourages a deep inner listening with a sense of ease, pleasure, and fun. Someone said to me once, Yoga is too sacred to be taken over seriously! A typical class will start with a gentle enquiry into the body and breath, slowly adding movement (influenced by the Feldenkrais method), and gradually build into synchronizing breath and stronger movement (the meaning of Vinyasa), to then work with static posture alignment and/or melting into the meditative, less dynamic postures of Yin. Focus upon the breath is a vital part of all my classes, whether simply tuning in to the simplicity of a natural breath or more subtle breathing control and Pranayama. I sometimes include meditation as part of a regular class and also offer separate Meditation/Yoga Nidra courses. I love language, literature and philosophy and read and write as much as a I can – often weaving ancient Yogic texts and contemporary poetry or prose into the experience of my classes. I am Certified as a Yoga Teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga and as an iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher with the iRest Institute and am currently undergoing training in the Feldenkrais Method.
