Giving a successful presentation can be one of the hardest parts of many people's jobs. Ultimately preparation will be the key to success when it comes to giving a presentation, but how do you make sure you are prepared enough? What about the structure? The content? How should you use visual aids? Being a successful presenter also involves understanding your audience, their expectations and needs. This course covers the common mistakes people make when preparing for and giving a presentation so you can avoid these, as well as going over good practice and providing some practical advice that you can put to good use the next time you have a big presentation to make.

During this on-demand session tutor Dr Nikki Osborne discusses: * What research integrity is, and who is responsible for what? * the research framework as it relates to the responsible use of live animals or animal derived materials in Life Science research, * good practice expectations regarding openness and transparency, plus the dissemination of research outputs, * real-life examples of research misconduct within the life science sector, plus common non-compliance issues with UK and EU legislation governing the use of animals in scientific procedures. * freely available tools and resources to support individuals to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills further.

The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (RQF) is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the work environment (for example a workshop, classroom or training environment). Learners who undertake this qualification will be able to understand the principles and requirements of assessment, different types of assessment methods, planning assessment, learner involvement within assessment, assessment decisions, quality assurance, information management and legal and good practice within assessment.
