alternative curriculum education
Peterborough
We currently work to support secondary schools, colleges, private care
organisations and pupil referral units and offer both an academic and vocational
programme of activities for young people not accessing mainstream education for
whatever reason. We can offer students up to a three day programme or a
combination of days (up to a maximum of 18 hours per week) to suit your
requirements. We can also cater for small groups (4-6 students) and can offer a
bespoke programme of activities on either a short term or long term basis.
Students can be placed 'on and off' the programme as required and can start the
programme as soon as we receive a completed referral and consent/medical form.
We liaise closely with the referral agency and the parents/guardian regarding
attendance, behaviour and achievement throughout the students placement at
A.C.E. and provide daily attendance registers to each referral agency. Student
trackers and reports are sent termly and are also available on request by other
professionals involved with a young person placed with us. Alternative
Curriculum Education was founded over 20 years ago in 2000 by the Directors
Marie Carrick & Leslie Carrick. Since then they have built up a team of
reputable Tutors and Support Workers and helped over 1000 students achieve the
grades they require to secure places at college and thus advance their learning.
The centre was awarded the Alternative Education Probation Certificate from
Cambridgeshire County Council in January 2020 as well as various other awards
over the years.
