The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Temporomandibular Disorders (ACPTMD) was launched in November 2009 and is a group of Chartered Physiotherapists with a specialist interest in the expert management of Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) who work in the NHS or in Private practice. Our launch was facilitated by the Clinical Lead, Mr Stephen Davies, and Speciality dentist, Ms. Anne Budenburg , both based at the Manchester Dental Hospital Temporomandibular Clinic.

Baby Week is a registered charity and aims to bring sectors and services together to promote the best start in life. The initiative was inspired by Brazil’s ‘Semana do Bebe’ (UNICEF 2010), following a visit to the country by Churchill Fellow Lucy Potter. Leeds hosted the first English speaking Baby Week in 2016 and since has had interest from several other towns and cities wanting to host their own celebrations. Since Baby Week became a registered charity, Bradford, Hull, Wakefield, Cheshire and Merseyside have organised their very own take on Baby Week Leeds. In 2019, we were nominated and came in second place as charity of the year by The British Journal of Midwifery Practice Awards (BJM). Over the past six years, hundreds of citywide events have been held with thousands of attendees including parents, expectant parents, practitioners and professionals , and of course babies! Each city hosting the week has the opportunity to celebrate and bring together the work of maternity and early years services, helping to raise awareness of the critical developmental growth stages and a real focus on the 1001 days in order to give every baby the best start in life. Baby Week is organised with Child Friendly Leeds with partnerships involving NHS Leeds, Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Leeds Dads, Public Health, Mumbler, and many more partners across all sectors. Working as a Beauty Therapist since leaving school and running a salon of her own, Christine has years of experience in the Beauty industry. Whilst training and managing her staff she realised that she had a passion to train others and raise the standards of training, so she decided to complete her PGCE, and moved on to work as an assessor in college. She did this for 13 years before leaving the college to teach in a private academy (where she worked with Tracy). Here she led the training in various brow and SPMU treatments. As the Head tutor here at The Beauty Hub, Christine teaches the majority of our courses. With her vast experience and knowledge you know you are in safe hands! A few words from Christine - ‘I love teaching and feel that 1:1 tuition delivers the best results possible for my students to make sure they really understand every part of the treatment thoroughly. It is very important to me that when they go back to the salon they feel confident that they can deliver the best possible service to their clients.
