Who : Creative Catalyst (Scotland) CIC is a social enterprise which supports young people into Creative Careers. After establishing and running a similar two year pilot project for young creatives as part of the lead up to Perth Creative Exchange and The Famous Grouse Ideas Centre opening , founding director Helen O’Brien decided to take the model of this project forward as a social enterprise. In September 2019 we successfully received ‘Start It’ funding from Firstport, and moved into our new studio at Perth Creative Exchange in November 2019. We have just received Firstport ‘Build It’ funding to support and embed our development in 2021-22. We offer creative employability opportunities for young people who face barriers to employment and training in Perth & Kinross. This project is specifically targeted at young creative individuals who need support to develop their confidence in their creative skills and abilities, and signpost to other opportunities and experiences that will support them with next steps of a creative career. We work alongside other 16+ support agencies in Perth & Kinross who refer young people to us, and we welcome individuals and support workers to contact us directly. How: We offer work experience and mentoring opportunities with professional artists and makers who run live creative projects for us, from design and prototyping an idea, to making a final product, marketing and selling; visit shop here. These projects develop a broad spectrum of practical creative and transferable skills including using imagination, problem solving, clear communication, persistence, self discipline, collaboration and working to a deadline. We also run creative workshops and programmes for children, families and communities which offer opportunities for our young people to work alongside a lead artist to gain confidence and experience of delivering projects with different age groups.

In-house PMO staff with project management qualifications, often struggle to apply knowledge obtained from courses to a live project environment. Interim PMO staff are often hired to augment in-house PMO resource on business critical projects. Once the project is complete and interim staff depart, lack of knowledge transfer means that the previously bridged skill gap resurfaces. JasonPB (Jason Parnell-Brookes) is an internationally award-winning photographer, educator and writer based in Frome, UK. A qualified teacher and Master’s graduate, Jason was Highly Commended in the Mammal Society Photographer of the Year Awards 2013 before being named Digital Photographer of the Year 2014 for his macro work and winning the Gold Prize award for his portraiture in the Nikon Photo Contest International 2018-19, one of the world’s biggest photography competitions. His wealth of academic and real-world experience in a variety of photographic disciplines makes Jason the perfect photography educator, able to talk authoritatively on multiple subjects, as he did at The Photography Show 2017. In his decade-long career Jason has worked for big fashion brands like Superdry and Tu Sainsbury’s as both a photographer and retoucher. After many years in the fashion world he moved to publishing as an editorial photographer for multiple magazines including Prog Rock and Digital Photographer. He was a photographic adviser and writer for World of Animals, and became Technique Editor on N-Photo magazine where he worked for four years. He now contributes to web giants like Techradar, CreativeBloq and FStoppers. Jason also interviews Canon ambassadors for the Canon Europe website and is a guest trainer for Nikon School UK. He’s also shot and written advertising campaigns for London Camera Exchange and MPB. Jason has literally written the book on Nikon, Canon and Sony camera systems (e.g. The Nikon Handbook, The Sony Camera Book etc); and is a dab-hand at image editing having contributed to bookazines such as Teach Yourself Lightroom and Teach Yourself Photoshop. I have been a part of mathematics education for over 30 years as a teacher, mathematics subject leader and Local Authority consultant. As Inspiring Maths Education, I’m continuing my extensive 20+ year track record supporting primary and secondary schools to improve and develop the quality of teaching and learning with a specific focus on mathematics. This includes providing high quality, bespoke subject specific training, support, advice, consultancy and professional development across the country and internationally. As an independent consultant, I wear a number of hats working for a variety of organisations. I am an accredited professional lead for the National Centre for the Excellence in Teaching Mathematics (NCETM). I am a work group lead for NCETM Maths Hubs across the Midlands: North Midlands (NM) and East Midlands West (EMW). These look at Mastery Readiness, Developing Teaching for Mastery, SKTM for TAs and ECTs in the primary phase, as well as Y5-8 continuity. As an associate lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University, I work with student teachers at the very start of their careers in teaching as both an academic mentor and lecturer. I am a School Development Lead for ARK Curriculum Mathematics Mastery programme visiting schools to support them in their mastery journey. I deliver mathematics training for Teachers’ Courses and Resources (TCR) in Staffordshire, offering a range of CPD opportunities both face to face and remotely which allows me to work with teachers both in this country and beyond. I have a real passion for the teaching and learning of mathematics and have had a considerable involvement in teaching mathematics both as a teacher, subject leader and adviser over a long career. My enthusiasm for mathematics is infectious and I have vast experience of working with a variety of stakeholders in schools to guide and inspire the next generation of mathematicians.

The Avenues team of youth professionals provides a safe, caring, youth-led space in a disadvantaged inner-city area, where young people can learn, develop and build towards a brighter future. Open-access after-school and holiday programmes take place in our purpose-built youth centre in North Westminster. Activities encompass sport, healthy cooking, music, art, dance, radio, skills development and career pathways.
