Nurturing Minds Mindfulness

London

About Annalise Jones, Founder of Nurturing Minds I created Nurturing Minds from a passionate belief that all children should be provided with the tools to look after their own Mental Health in a positive and healthy way from as young as possible. I believe that this is the key to preventing the World's Mental Health crisis from becoming anymore severe. The harsh reality of today's society shows that 1 in 6 children and young people aged between 5-16 have a diagnosable Mental Health problem, whilst 70% of these children and young people are not getting the appropriate interventions that they need at an early age (ONS, 2020). The truth is that there isn't enough services to teach our children what they need to know about their Minds and how to look after them. So I made it my mission to do just that! Nurturing Minds uses Creative Mindfulness techniques to teach children, and their parents, about their emotions, feelings and behaviours and how these all link together to form our mind. The aim of this is to create a toolbox of resources that children and parents can access at any time in their lives. These experiences of Mindfulness will help support healthy brain development and will give children and their parents a chance to actively support their emotional regulation, which will in turn, promote positive Mental Health and Well-being. Using my knowledge of child development from my degree in Early Childhood Studies, as well as my experience working with children and families of all ages, I have developed an inclusive and welcoming environment for people to learn about their minds and to help them feel the benefits of Mindfulness on their own lives, just like I have felt it on mine.

Beyond Coaching

Mandalas can be seen in all fundamental shapes such as in snails and trees, in atoms and the solar system and in the earth, moon and sun. Every mandala is related, yet distinctly unique. On a more symbolic level, the mandala is recognised in some way or another in almost every culture and religion. For us at Beyond Coaching, the mandala lies at the heart of the Self… It is the centre of our inter-connectedness with everyone and everything around us. It speaks to the eco-systems that we exist in in the companies we work in, the people we work with, lead and inspire. It also manifests in our personal circles, our friends, family and the communities we exist in. The mandala embodies a truly universal principle that is all embracing, regardless of the foundation of one’s belief. It symbolises the connections that exist between us and everything that surrounds us. More than anything it represents Wholeness and our African value of uBuntu. This is what drove us to form Beyond Coaching in 2009, when 21 like-minded coaches and trainers pulled together in the possibility of forming a coaching and training movement. One that is powered by Consciousness and committed to transforming the face of leadership and business. Bringing true collaboration, cohesion and mutual care back into the work place – for the sake of the people and of course for the sake of exponential business success. Rienzo Colpo was one of those founders he navigated the metamorphosis of that Beyond Coaching, to the lean and powerful force that it is today. Early in 2016 Mareli Kruger decided to move across from the University of Pretoria and join Beyond Coaching. This completed the foundation of senior coaches and master facilitators heading up the company.

Yasmin's Yoga

Sending you a very warm welcome from Brighton. If we've met you'll know me as Yas or Yasmin and if not I hope our paths connect one day soon! In my late teens I developed a keen interest in natural health & wellness, as a result of losing my wonderful mother to cancer. This would eventually lead me to Thailand and India where I would learn about Ayurveda, Shamanic Medicines, Detoxing & Cleansing and the value of natural living. I would come to learn the importance of health from the inside out and the integral balance of mind, body & spirit. A few years later I started to delve into the world of yoga and soon began to rely on my practice, as it brought me a sense of peace that I had not yet experienced. This led me to complete my Teacher Training along with many other courses and workshops, helping me to deepen my knowledge and understanding of this beautiful practice. My travels also afforded me the privilege of learning meditation with Buddhist monks. I have always been inspired by those who live yoga as a way of life and I am unbelievably passionate about sharing this practice with others. As you scroll through the site you will find my classes and workshop offerings, as well as my blog where I occasionally brain dump! If you are interested in one to one yoga sessions, personalised group classes, meditation & breathwork or a natural health consultation, please use the contact form to get in touch as I would love to hear from you. For upcoming workshops and events you can book directly online and if you'd like to gain access to early bird tickets & discounts you can subscribe to my mailing list below. Thank you so much for stopping by and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all!

A school system which is the most inspirational and supportive environment possible for the physical, emotional, psychological and intellectual development of young people. OUR MISSION To support young people in the exploration of their emotional development and creative potential. To support those who mentor, teach or lead students in the promotion of inspiring, effective and ethical practice. WHAT IS MYTHODRAMA? The purpose of playing is to hold the mirror up to nature. William Shakespeare – Hamlet Mythodrama is a unique form of experiential learning that allows participants to “act in” desired behaviours and attributes. We employ a powerful combination of theatre practice, psychology, mythology and organisational development. It provides inspiration and learning for lasting change. So much is at stake and so much depends on the psychological constitution of modern man. Does the individual know that s/he is the make weight that tips the scales? Carl Jung The psychological aspect broadens perspective and unleashes new possibilities in individuals and organisations. It creates a context to find greater meaning in our work. The abuse of greatness is when it disjoins Remorse from power William Shakespeare – Julius Caesar Shakespeare’s genius provides timeless insights into the human nature of leadership, at all levels. Each of his plays contains a great mythology on the human condition. We can project our own issues on to these mythologies, to gain deeper insight into the nature of the challenges we face in our own lives and work. All this is done in a practical, relevant and down-to-earth manner and is designed to engage even those who would normally feel out of their comfort zone with a theatrical metaphor. Mythological symbols touch and exhilarate centres of life beyond the reach of vocabularies of reason and coercion Joseph Campbell Mythodrama extends the range of participants’ thinking, behaviour and action.

Rachel Hearne Jewellery

rachel hearne jewellery

Lancaster

I am a goldsmith, an artist, a craftsperson, a dreamer and a maker. I take great pride in being part of a long chain of makers who have carried on the tradition of handmade jewellery. The permanence, longevity and portability of jewellery provides a rich history in the story of being human. I am proud that my work is part of so many stories of love, celebration and joy. My work is influenced by the play of line and form found in nature and architecture. I enjoy exploring the drama of mixed materials, textures, and surface treatments in my work. I use these influences to create pieces that are contemporary and will stand the test of time. All of my designs are made in my studio in the UK. I specialise in small batch production runs meaning that my work is never mass-produced and is crafted with my own hands. I also offer bespoke commission pieces for those in search of unique and personal items to commemorate special occasions and life events. See my blog page for more details of bespoke work. ETHICS As a human, a mother and a maker I endeavour to be as environmentally responsible as I can in all my practices. This means using recycled precious metal in all my designs, sourcing precious gems through ethical suppliers and using packaging made of FSC Eco materials. I aim to keep business and workshop waste at an absolute minimum, I recycle everything I can and I use no harsh chemicals in my processes. All that said I am not perfect but I do my very best to be responsible. I keep myself educated and informed about what best options are available to me as a maker and promote those ideas and ethics onto my customers and students.

Elaine Whittaker - yogabeing

elaine whittaker - yogabeing

My name is Elaine and I love yoga! I've been enjoying yoga myself for about 45 years and teaching for 15 years. My Bicester yoga classes are gentle and mindful. No rushing from posture to posture. We take time to be. My aim when teaching is for you to be comfortable, relaxed and happy. For you to feel calm and confident, free from physical tension and mental stress. Most of the ladies in my classes are in their 50's, 60's and 70's and appreciate the more gentle approach I take in teaching. Classes start with a short period of breath awareness, followed by some gentle warm up movements. Then we enjoy some postures (asanas) often in the form of sequences so you can lose yourself in the soft flow of the movements. We finish with some breathwork (pranayama) and a lovely relaxation leaving you feeling calm and peaceful. I like to drip in little glimpses of the philosophy behind yoga and will sometimes share a short reading or poem to enhance the mood of the class. In addition, I integrate aspects of mindfulness into my teaching. Whilst none of us can remove the stresses from our lives, we can develop coping mechanisms to avoid tension building physically, mentally and emotionally. Yoga can help you release tight muscles and improve your sense of balance physically and mentally. You learn to unravel the knots of physical, mental and emotional tension and gain a greater sense of wellbeing. Let your yoga class be an oasis of calm in a busy life... like pressing a pause button .. time to unwind and refresh. Beginners are always welcome - my gentle style of teaching means all can enjoy classes. Come and find your inner goddess .. that calm, tranquil woman who can sometimes become hidden in a busy life. Contact me to find out more.

Clydebank

In 1999, West Dunbartonshire SIP commissioned research on the needs of local young people from Dumbarton, Vale of Leven and Clydebank. Findings highlighted overwhelming support for the introduction of some form of youth information service. A steering group, comprising local young people and adults was set up and the idea of a youth led information and support project; for young people by young people was developed with funding from West Dunbartonshire Partnership, Scottish Enterprise Dunbartonshire and Greater Glasgow NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. In January the Y Sort-It Youth Information Centre on Kilbowie road was launched with four full-time members of staff, led by a management committee made up of the young members of the steering group and this committee is still the main driving force for the project today(though its members have changed from year to year). In 2014 Y Sort-It moved to its huge new base located besides the Clydebank Hub on West Thomson Street. Where before the base had been a small and sometime cramped place to hold meetings and groups the new base was is now a massive difference and as such the opportunities are now boundless. So please if you’re in the area why not drop in and you can help us to continue making fantastic history for the young people of West Dunbartonshire. Our Facilities Y Sort It youth centre provides a dedicated youth friendly space with various weekly youth activities offered throughout the West Dunbartonshire are . Our Y Sort It outreach bus helps provide youth activities across the local communities of West Dunbartonshire and our unique Carbeth hut, the Gillie Dhu, provides an opportunity for young people and children to enjoy the outdoors located in the Carbeth Hutting Community, Stirlingshire.
