Wexham is a highly regarded and successful non-selective 11 - 19 school. The School’s latest Ofsted inspection, November 2017, judged the school to be GOOD in all areas and for overall effectiveness. The school is popular and currently expanding. In 2019 we welcomed our largest Year 7 cohort to the school for many years. Our location on the edge of Slough means our school has a green and spacious campus feeling. In November 2018 we moved into our new multimillion pound ‘Woodside’ Building. This is a major investment by Slough Borough Council as part of its ambitious school expansion programme. We now have 29 brand new classrooms housing Humanities, English, MFL and our SEN departments. In addition a new student services area was provided and at the very heart of the school a new Library, including additional Sixth Form study areas. Historically the School was designated as a ‘Sports College’. Although such designations have now ceased, sport continues to be a focus point of the school and there is considerable success at both local and regional level. High levels of participation in PE and Sport builds resilience and confidence in our students which allows academic success to flourish. The School has well developed partnerships across the Local Authority and community where we lead on PE through the Slough Schools Sports Network based at Wexham. We are currently one of four schools in Slough piloting the ‘Health Champions’ initiative and we also jointly co-host the Borough’s PSCHE network. We are an enhanced partner School to Brunel University. We are the Youth Sport Trust’s Lead Inclusion School for Berkshire. Our recent survey of 369 parents found that 97% agree that: Their child is happy at Wexham Their child feels safe at Wexham. Their child is well looked after at Wexham. 96% of parents say that Wexham is well led and managed and 95% agree that their child is taught well. Most importantly 97% of parents would recommend Wexham to another parent. A key ingredient of our success has been the priority placed on creating an environment in which both students and staff have the confidence to flourish. Great schools, that demonstrate continuous or sustained improvement, are built on a foundation of highly qualified and committed staff. History and Information : Dhaka Residential Model College was established in 1960 by Pakistani President Ayyub Khan, in an area of about 60 acre beside Mirpur Road near Sher-e-Bangla Nagor in Dhaka. In 1962, the administration of DRMC was assumed by the provincial government of then East Pakistan. In 1965, the government converted the institution into an autonomous body, and its administration was relegated to a board of governors with the Chief Secretary as its chairman. In 1967, the government again took control of the school. At that time, a new board of governors was constituted with the Education Secretary as its chairman. The initial purpose of establishing DRMC was to provide education for elite army officers and high ranking government officials in East Pakistan. The school, and later the college, were modeled after public schools in the United Kingdom (according to the British Public Schools Act 1868), particularly Eton College. The house system was designed to resemble Eton's. After the independence of Bangladesh, a board of governors was appointed with the Education Secretary as its chairman. Since its inception, the school has been funded through government grants and fees from students. The Board of Governors has been empowered to “frame rules as it deems necessary for the proper functioning of the school”. The school began with only one study session, known as the Morning shift which operates from 8:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. In March 1993, another session is known as the Day shift was added, according to the education expansion policy of the government, to cope with the growing number of students. The day shift session operates from 1:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Measures were taken to build a gymnasium, park, swimming pool, auditorium, mosque, administrative building, and residences for the principal, vice-principal, and school staff. The school opened in eleventh and twelfth grades in 1967. In 1978, another dormitory named Lalon Shah House was built for students in grades 11–12. In 2008, a four-storied house named Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah was built for students of the day shift.

In addition we encourage parents to talk to staff and ask question for further feedback. We also hold parents evenings, to get up to date of your childs progress and terms activities. Life ahead... As your child grows Kids Corner Nursery aims to lead by example, establishing an environment of mutual respect, which promotes self esteem and helps to build self confidence creating a solid foundation to life ahead. We aim to allow children to express themselves as individuals yet at the same time listening and appreciating the views of others. This is why lots of encouragement is given towards group activities to build your child's social and interpersonal skills.
