The college strives to make Luther affordable for all students by offering scholarships, need-based aid, work study, and loan programs. Academic Excellence Luther offers 60 areas of learning. The college’s learning philosophy highlights connections between disciplines. Its thoughtful and rigorous curriculum moves beyond immediate interests toward engagement in the larger world. This approach to education helps Luther earn inclusion in the top tier of national liberal arts colleges in the U.S. News and World Report’s college guide. Passionate Teachers Luther’s faculty are committed to their areas of expertise—95 percent of them hold the most advanced degree in their field. This means that Luther students receive an education from qualified professors who are passionate about what they teach and invested in the college and its students. Learning Beyond the Classroom Luther values learning beyond the classroom. Internships, externships, and opportunities to collaborate with faculty on research are vital components of a Luther education—and they help test career goals and build résumés. This experiential learning contributes to the stellar career outcomes and postsecondary education rates of Luther graduates. Study-away experiences are another way that students learn beyond the classroom, and they’re key to the global perspective that Luther promotes. In fact, 90 percent of Luther students study away, domestically or internationally. Many undergraduates take advantage of study-away opportunities during January Term, a three-week period between semesters that allows students to study a particular subject in depth. A student-to-faculty ratio of 10:1 gives students an exceptional classroom experience, and Luther’s faculty also mentor students, act as advisers, and learn and research in collaboration with students.

I was the Founder and CEO of SEO Agency Verve Search, a company I built from scratch and grew to become one of the most respected and award-winning agencies in Europe. In 2017, I sold Verve Search to Omnicom Media Group, staying on as CEO until January 2021. If you want to learn more about my journey with Verve, read the story of Verve here. In addition to Verve Search, I have had several non-executive and advisory roles. I have mentored dozens of people throughout my career and find great joy in supporting others on their journey. If I have learned anything about how to succeed in business, it’s that you have to be true to yourself – every step of the way. I draw on my knowledge of psychology and neuroscience and apply it to business management, creating a unique offering that focuses on the humans behind the business. I help people find their truths and become more authentically, more truly themselves. That’s what it means to be Ekte. Mentoring I have mentored dozens of people throughout my career, and I find great joy in supporting others on their journey. I believe that it is the distance between who we are, and who we pretend to be, that creates blocks to growth, both personal and business. My mentoring system will help you close that gap. Newark-on-Trent

I deliver quirky, unusual art and craft workshops in a number of local crafting venues across Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire. I can also bring Quirkshops to any suitable venue and tailor the workshop to the specific needs of a client. The workshops typically last between 2 – 6 hours, occasionally more in-depth workshops may be held over a number of weeks. My background. I have always been creative but from an early age I had to choose between a scientific and artistic career. Having spent most of my childhood holidays in Devon with my head dangling over a pontoon staring into the green-blue depths and the curious creatures within, it seemed natural for me to study marine biology (you get the octopus logo now!). A convoluted route led me through a PhD studying marine neurotoxins to a career in Public Health for 18 years. But I always wanted to create. I took a year out and started to volunteer at a local community farm, FarmEco, a magical place with the most amazing people. That is where things fell together: connecting with nature, creativity and my desire to help people to improve their wellbeing. I can often be found at the farm, hands covered in charcoal or paint and looking windswept and with a smile on my face. Nature and wellbeing. I am passionate about the benefits to our wellbeing that creativity can bring and to combine this with immersing yourself in nature can be a powerful tonic. Many of my workshops take place entirely outdoors, spending time not just creating in but connecting with nature through simple practices which awaken the senses. By connecting with nature we develop a desire to care for nature and that is something we desperately need in this time of climate crisis. Workshops. The focus of the workshops is to nurture creative talent in everyone through a wide range of art and craft skills. The experiences are shared in a group but will be unique and personal (people won’t all produce the same thing at the end) and the process is every bit as important as the things that people produce.

Andrew Okaro

andrew okaro

My name is Andrew Okaro, I’m a therapist and coach who specializes in relationships, inner child therapy and career transformation. I’m passionate about helping others to achieve their goals and to reach their full potential. I’ve been interested in self-development ever since I learnt how to read, and was able to borrow books from my local library. However, my 1st career was working as a Graphics Designer, which lead to further work in world of advertising. In my 20’s I had my dream job, and a flat in central London, all the things I wanted to have growing up as a teenager. However, I struggled with relationships and found myself repeatedly disappointment in matters of love and the heart. At the same time, I became interested in psychology, in particular the works of Carl Jung, and Freud. What fascinated me, was the idea that your childhood experiences and the relationships with your parents, are key factors in shaping your life as an adult. I also became interested in the world of spirituality and was naturally drawn to Toaism and Shamanism. I studied various universal laws such as 'the law of polarity' ‘the law of resonance’ and ‘the law of attraction.’ But not from the superficial view often portrayed in documentaries like ‘The secret’. I was more interested in the workings of the unconscious mind, and how attraction is often influenced by, archetypes, inner parts and shadow aspects of the psyche. I started to see how the relationship with my mother fitted the pattern of my early relationships. But knowledge alone, was not enough to transform this, and I realized that I had to dig deeper in order to experience transformation. After a particularly bad breakup, I became aware of healing power of EFT (emotional freedom technique) and NLP (neuro linguistic programming). While practicing these for some time I became aware of several shifts which manifested as synchronicities in my life. Some of these were subtle, while others were blatantly obvious, like two ex’s contacting me within a space of a couple days.

Toddies Dog Training

Having a dog is one of the most incredible experience's life can offer. Or so I was told. I found a great breeder who I met at a show. Her dogs were beautiful, and my heart melted as I watched them trot around the show ring. I couldn't wait for my boy to arrive. Prior to him joining the family, I spent hours watching and reading books to prepare for his arrival. So, he arrives, and I was over the moon, to put it lightly. Four weeks into having this tiny, lively puppy, who was 12 weeks old, I got the shock of my life! My little Ted, my beautiful boy, gave me the biggest, angriest bite you could imagine. His teeth crushed my fingers, leaving them bruised and bloody. This was not a dog but a Tasmanian devil. Although my hand hurt, my heart was crushed. It's very easy to fall out of love with a dog you can't trust. As you can imagine, I was devastated and realised that I needed to learn more so this incident didn't happen again. I spent an enormous amount of time researching and putting into practice what I had learnt. I found that the style of "Old School Punishment" just wasn't working with Ted. I understand why looking back with the knowledge I am blessed with now. There is so much information out there, books, television programmes, YouTube videos, blogs. It's a minefield and so easy to travel down the wrong path, and I certainly had taken the wrong path for Ted and me. Unfortunately, I learned how to be mean, how to shout and even hurt my puppy, asserting my dominance, to show him who was boss and Nip it in the Bud. Honestly, in a world where we already control our dogs, be it when they're fed, what is given, when we take them for a walk, who they can stop and say hello to, when and if they can have a treat. How much control do we need? Fortunately, very fortunately, I met a fabulous lady called Lynda Edmondson, who ran a doggy dancing class near me. It was here that I was introduced to a totally different world of training, of positive reinforcement where you motivated your dog to learn and work as a team. These times were truly magical, filled with fun, and my eyes were opened to a kind way to train. I learnt to love my dog for who he was, to stop focussing on the negative. We then attended a monthly clicker workshop with Lynda, and this was when Ted and me came into our own, and I loved to show off what we could both achieve together. Ted is an English toy Terrier with a huge personality which I fully appreciate and can now accept. After many years on a journey of learning and training to become a specialist in my field, which was initially to support Ted, I qualified with the IABTC. I completed their dog training and behavioural modification course. I now enjoy a career that I love. I am still committed to learning and keep up to date with new research. In my previous life, I was a time and motion technician in a clothing factory. I would study people, then create a process to train others to complete the work more efficiently. Saving companies time and money. I suppose it's quite similar to what I am offering you as a dog trainer. I will study your dog and your relationship, then create a process of training that can be carried out and repeated to improve behaviour. Reduce the amount of time wasted looking online, reading endless books, leaving you none the wiser. Tap into my knowledge and all of the time and money I've spent learning how not to do things as much as how to do things. My main aim is to set you up to succeed. If you are successful, then I'm successful. I will give you my full support to learn how to make immediate changes, enjoy the mischief and appreciate your dog's true personality. Give me a call if you want to chat about creating a dog that is a joy to be around and find your best friend.
