I invite you to take part in community events whilst discovering and benefiting from Qi Gong, Meditation, and Sound Healing As well as being good for your posture and breathing! Qi Gong is recognised as a form of preventative medicine and studies have shown that those who practice it experience less anxiety and better moods. There’s no age limit, there’s no right or wrong, there’s just a desire to take part and nourish yourself in a shared environment. Qigong embraces nature and reminds us of the rhythm of the seasons. Movement meditations are designed for the physical benefits of improving posture and breathing as well as exploring internal resistance. The philosophy of Qigong is that nature is our teacher. Each session or workshop explores how to release tension, embrace change and harness the energy of the cycle of Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. After a career in Music and the hospitality industry, I re-trained in 2010 in therapeutic sound in the community and then qualified as an instructor in Tai Chi Qi Gong. I continue to study with the Deyin institute in the practice of Tai Chi and Taoist philosophy. Having learned transcendental meditation back in the 80s, self-healing had always been of interest. Having also qualified as a masseuse I have a background in dance and a strong interest in anatomy. I continued to explore using meditation as a means of relaxation whilst incorporating sound healing and movement. My joy is working in community groups with a variety of workshops and sessions I traveled abroad in 2005 to work for a charity in Sarajevo with PTSD sufferers and took some training in this area. I felt drawn to finding ways to help people with trauma to relax and to give themselves time to heal and explore their own physical and emotional journeys. Part of finding a life balance is something we all want to explore. I found the best way for me was a mix of progression in learning as well as in giving and helping charities and worthy organisations. Here’s a list of my contributions. It’s a privilege and not always financially possible but the philosophy is that in giving we receive so it doesn’t always have to be by paying out in money.

Kanga Studio Nairobi comprises of a large studio space, beautiful gardens and therapy rooms. There are two bathrooms on site, one shower and storage available for your valuables during workshops, classes and therapies if you wish. All sessions at Kanga Studio must be pre-booked. ARRIVING AT KANGA STUDIO NAIROBI Please ensure you arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled session to allow time to settle down, and in case you have any questions beforehand for the teacher, you will get them answered. There is plenty of parking available at Kanga Studio within the compound and on the grass outside the gate. Kanga Studio provides yoga mats and props. You are also welcome to bring your own with you. There is a bathroom and toilet on site, and storage available for your belongings during your session. We welcome you to relax at the studio after your session with us. Complimentary herbal tea and water is provided, and a library of books to read.

For over 2 decades I’ve been supporting my clients in their health and wellbeing through various forms of massage and healing. I offer effective treatments in my clinic and stimulating education in the classroom. Leaving my past life as a graphic designer, I went back to college and studied Aromatherapy. Fast forward many years and experiences, I have gone on to train in Abdominal Therapy, Reflexology, Reiki, Indian Head Massage, Thai Yoga Massage and On-Site Acupressure Chair Massage (Amma Massage). Constantly striving to improve my skills has lead me to various exotic places, from the Thai jungle, rainforests of Central America, throughout North America, and then the rolling hills in Surrey, UK. I first learned about Abdominal Therapy in 2004, after a chance meeting with Dr. Rosita Arvigo, whilst on holiday in Belize, Central America. This inspired me to seek Abdominal Therapy when I returned home to the UK. Driven by personal health issues, I received regular treatments which supported and reframed my attitude to my own pelvic health. Abdominal Therapy not only transformed my health, but also my outlook on life. Years later, and after working with hundreds of clients, I now teach Abdominal Therapy, running workshops at personal and professional level, both in person and online specialising in the art of gaining and maintaining abdominal health. I run Abdominal workshops for those who seek a deeper understanding and healing from digestive or pelvic issues, and train professional therapists in the art of Abdominal Therapy within The Abdominal Therapy Collective. I was a graphic designer for 15 years, immersed in the discipline of explaining concepts, products and events in a way that was easy to understand and visually striking, I bring these qualities to my teaching, always seeking simple and effective ways to explain healing concepts and methods to my students. I have created a beautiful haven for healing and learning in my home in leafy Twickenham, South West London, UK. Offering treatments at the top of my home in my cocoon-like therapy room, and a fun and engaging workshop space at the bottom, in my kitchen and garden studio. My passion for pelvic health education draws me near and far, for those seeking personal healing or professional growth alike. Dream Academy is a Performing Arts School offer classes from 18 months right through to adults. We provide workshop style classes consisting of Singing, Dance and Drama to give a full creative experience for all performing arts students. All students perform a live summer show each year to give our students the platform to present their new found confidence and skills.  ALF is a peer led, grassroots, community organisation that supports those struggling with emotional distress caused by trauma/PTSD, life stress, or ill health, to recover; find purposeful occupation; and become thriving members of their local communities. The ALF team have been working in local communities for over a decade, and our frontline staff have several decades’ collective training & experience in psychology; counselling/psychotherapy; peer coaching/mentoring; teaching & training; peer support; business, social entrepreneurship, & finance, to name a few.  This means we can support people along their journey to recover from emotional/mental health challenges, learn new skills, and become purposeful and integrated members of their community. Since the lockdowns of 2020 we have focused our efforts on creating events and community groups that bring people in the community together in an informal way with an emphasis on supporting people to find meaning and purpose in life, follow their passions, and find a sense of belonging. These are essential things that enable human survival and thriving.  Our core, ongoing project, the Launceston Folk Club, also draws on our experience as musicians, to bring people together twice a month at events where we host nationally and internationally acclaimed musicians on the contemporary folk circuit, offering local upcoming musicians the coveted support slots. Through this venture, we support musicians of all ages to follow their passion for music, develop their music careers, and provide a safe place where all members of the community can help and volunteer, meet and socialise with people, and learn about social entrepreneurship. As experienced social entrepreneurs and practitioners and trainers in the field of emotional and mental health, we can support people to overcome life challenges, progress towards their life goals, gain meaningful occupation, learn business skills, and ultimately thrive.
