Beach South Volleyball Club focuses on beach volleyball training, and was started in the spring of 2012. The team had one coach and a handful of athletes. By the end of the season we had 20 athletes and had added a few great coaches. Beach South Volleyball History This club was started for several reasons. The main reason was born out of a love, Director, Scott Castevens had for the game. He wanted to see the game and beach volleyball training grow in the southeast, North Carolina specifically. At the time, Scott believed the beach volleyball training on sand would strengthen the Piedmont indoor volleyball program. He was a coach at Piedmont indoor. It would create and develop better all-around players who are not just good at one position/area. They would be able to pass, set, block, hit and serve effectively. Beach South Volleyball Recent Accomplishments In the spring of 2013 Beach South Volleyball Club had more than 100 athletes participating throughout the spring/summer. In 2014, we launched our College Development Program (CDP) which is a year round program designed for the athlete focused primarily on beach volleyball training and committed to the amount of training required to be in this program. This program has grown into multiple levels and has yielded many athletes who have gone on to play at the collegiate level. Over the past 7 years 100% of our graduating seniors have gone on to play at the collegiate level, most of them Division 1. In 2020 we had 12 Seniors, 11 going on to play at NCAA Division 1 programs and one going to play at a Division II program. Out of those 12, we had one player who went to the #1 team in the country at that time and 3 others who went to top 10 programs in the country. We are excited to continue to see athletes getting to continue what they love doing at the collegiate level and watching this sport grow. Bread 41 is an organic bakery located in Dublin 2. Our bakery specialises in long fermented breads, which are made using traditional methods and just a few simple ingredients; flour, salt and water. All our breads are hand made over two days using organic flour and other wholesome ingredients including nuts, seeds, grains and dried fruit. We will supply like-minded retailers, restaurants, hotels and cafés with bread and fresh pastries daily. In September 2018 we are launched our very own bakery/eatery Bread 41, which is located next to our bakery on Pearse Street in Dublin 2. At Bread 41, customers can buy our breads, pastries and taste amazing food. We are very excited about this opportunity, given our teams acumen for putting together incredible yet simple dishes. Everyday our kitchen will be serving up fresh lunch and breakfast options using local , seasonal, organic where possible and always ethnically sourced ingredients. Similar to our routes in the bakery, we will be focusing on fermented foods, making our own butters, jams and sourcing local organic produce where we can to support local farmers and suppliers where possible. Dyslexia Care Foundation was established by Lola Oluwasuyi who has lived with Dyslexia throughout her life. Despite the difficulties of experiencing this condition firsthand, Lola has been hugely appreciative of the educational support that she has received over the years which has helped her to excel in her education, including successfully achieving her undergraduate degree. She is now studying for her Master’s degree. Lola’s experience demonstrates that with the right support, people with Dyslexia can thrive and reach the same academic heights as anybody else in life. That is why she established Dyslexia Care Foundation with the motto ‘Fair Learning Opportunities’ to provide support and guidance to others. Our main objective is to provide guidance on how to access quality educational opportunities and we offer assistance to people from the age of 7 onwards. About Us Excel Women’s Centre, CIC, is community hub that has an open door policy and provides services to all women, children and families residing in the London borough of Barking & Dagenham and surrounding boroughs. Wiltshire Equine Assisted Learning offers one to one social, emotional and mental health support through equine and animal assisted outdoor learning. creates positive opportunities for young people to thrive in the outdoors in a safe and supportive space, to reset the trajectory of life’s path. allows young people, through nurturing animals, to develop their empathy and find a sense of calm. gives learners real farming responsibilities, promoting satisfaction and pride. Being herd animals, horses seek connection and trust, and they mirror our behaviour. In working with them, learners are able to develop perspective of their own behaviour and begin to regulate their energy. All work with horses is from the ground (not ridden) and so no previous equine experience is necessary. Through interactions with animals, and the outdoor world in which they live, learners enjoy the freedom of nature, gain confidence, resilience, self-esteem and self-awareness by working on outdoor activities and a bespoke animal assisted learning program. Within our farm environment we are able to create holistic opportunities for learners to stretch their expectations and reach their full potential in a safe and supported way. Learners develop an understanding of themselves, their emotions, the perspective of others and in turn improve their focus, communication skills and their wellbeing. Preparation for adulthood Employment skills - we deliver tutoring, to include time keeping, record keeping, appropriate behaviour, health and safety, modelling good practice, team and independent work, and knowledge of job-based skills. Independent living - learners develop an abundance of practical skills, as well as communication, organisation, day to day maths, and budgeting. Engaging with the community - in working with horses, learners improve their social communication skills, their respect of self, empathy for others, body language, nurturing relationships, care and kindness. Health - learners work in the outdoors where we promote the benefit of fresh air and healthy living, activity and exercise, lifestyle choices, resilience, mindfulness and positive mental health skills. Managing transitions Learners are invited for a site visit with their support worker, parents or carers to assess the suitability of our sessions as their alternative provision. Transitions are than managed through a referral form to establish each individual learner’s needs and the tailoring of sessions appropriate to the targets of their education, health and care plans (EHCPs). Following an initial induction session we work to establish a trusting relationship in the first term, allowing the learner time to settle and familiarise, and for the facilitator to assess and develop a picture of their learner-led programme moving forward. We invite future provisions to join sessions to initiate a trusting relationship and understanding of our learner when preparing to move on or integrate into mainstream education. A portfolio of skills and CV of attainment will move with the learner, to be passed on to their next further education or provision.

For a long time, I worked within the Heritage Sector, leading a Visitor Experience team at several places within the South West, helping to look after special places to leave a leagacy for future generations. In 2014 and 2018 I negotiated returning to my role on a flexible working pattern after being on parental leave twice. I did this through recruiting, training and developing a fantastic team of staff and volunteers to support the visitor operation. Enabling me to lead on the department’s business plan objectives and also lead the visitor experience of a major £3.2 million restoration project. Discovering what I wanted and making it happen In 2020, as a result of the fall out of the Covid pandemic, I took voluntary redundancy. I knew that I wanted to use my people skills in my next career path, so with my warm, calm and empathetic approach and a desire to reach and help far more people, after my own journey of self explorations, I decided I wanted to become a coach! So in 2020, I decided to make it official and went through a rigorous training programme for 11 months, to achieve my diploma and become a certified Personal Devlopment coach with The Coaching Academy. I now use my coaching to help.. -Parents achieve clarity, happiness and fulfilment in life, enabling them to be the shining light for their children, showing them what is possible. - Senior Professionals who have worked in a role for many years and are questioning their next steps and are seeking clarity, direction and professional career transition suppport.
