Cherish it.” Vicky McClure - Line of Duty / Trigger Point / This is England Who we are The Television Workshop is a BAFTA award winning drama group and TV casting resource with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion. Founded in 1983, and a registered charity since 2012, the group has bases in both Nottingham and Manchester. At the Television Workshop we look for the individuality in every young person that we train. Our students are authentic. We don’t want you to recognise a Television Workshop student because they are all the same. We want you to know that they are hardworking, truthful in their performance and willing to listen, learn and deliver. Over the years a number of our students have gone on to great success in the industry. We have award winning actors, writers and directors as well as editors and production crew. Many others go on to successful careers outside of the industry, working in everything from construction to medicine. We’re incredibly proud of all of them and they all carry a little bit of Workshop magic into everything they do. As a charity, The Television Workshop is able to keep fees affordable and offer places purely on the basis of talent.

Established in 2015, by Scottish luthier Ian Dickinson, the workshop opened its doors on Argyle Street in Glasgows west end and quickly gained a reputation for quality repair work and fine hand crafted instruments. After 7 years it was time for a change and in spring of 2022 work began on a new workshop in the southside of Glasgow and was completed in August that year. Having joined forces with Isaac Kahir (Cranmer Guitars) the new workshop presents a change in both location and how the workshop operates. A co-operative venture between Ian and Isaac where they share the space and run their own businesses independently of each other along with long term bench space for another two luthiers.The following years were spent repairing and restoring instruments for various shops, studio and private customers whilst working as head technician for major Scottish based guitar manufacturer; this experience allowed me to start my own business and quickly gain loyal customers and a strong reputation The new workshop will see me focus on building more but i will still be doing plenty or repairs and if i have been looking after your guitars for a while then that will remain the same.

Cardiff Print Workshop was first set up with ‘AADW’ (Artists and Designers in Wales) in 1979 at its original site on Tyndall Street, Cardiff Bay, where it stayed until 1990. Due to the Cardiff Bay Development Project however the workshop was forced to move to the Howardian Adult Education Centre in 1991. In December 2011 CPW expanded and began renting an additional space from Chapter Arts Centre in Market House. The Howardian Adult Education Centre has now closed and it is here that we continue to run classes and printmaking masterclasses to the public and CPW members.

My name is Jonah Hughes. I made my first blade (straight razor) when I was around 16 years old. I was fascinated by it by just kept it as a hobby. I completed a degree in mechatronics engineering whilst keeping tinkering on the side. After I graduated, I decided to pursue my calling and see where it would take me. This is where I have ended up, so please join part of my journey, one custom made product at a time.  High Quality, Ethically Sourced Materials  Your Satisfaction is Guaranteed  Honest Prices  Multi-skilled craftsman MY STORY I have been making and tinkering since 16 y.o Workshop 15 started out as a small garage workshop at 15 Holland Avenue. This is where I grew up. The garage was around about 10m^2, as well as holding the boiler plus storage for miscellaneous homeware. The first knife I made was using a hole in the ground and a hairdryer to heat up some coals so that I could blacksmith an old file. After this I was hooked. I made small knives as procrastination for exams, and was soon progressing to kitchen knives. A while passed of doing much the same whilst at university, until I decided to leave my masters year to pursue this, and I haven’t looked back. The workshop has moved to a larger location at my grandparents house, and I now call myself a full time craftsman The Logo As soon as I was of age, I got my first tattoo in a relatively concealed place. It is in an ancient script called Elder Futhark as I wanted the meaning of it to be just for me. I decided that this language would perfect for the logo – spelling out WS.15 for Workshop 15 My Vision My version of success isn’t to have lots of money, or a nice house or car. This is reflected in my work, which I do purely from passion and love of the craft. For this reason, I am able to do projects that others may find not profitable enough or too challenging, because I am living for my work rather than working to live.
