It is with great pleasure that I can introduce myself as the Headteacher of Elmwood School. Throughout my journey as a senior leader within this school I can honestly say that the staff, pupils, parents and professionals work tirelessly together to achieve the same common goal for our pupils to be the “best version of themselves”. This is achieved through a dedicated team who are extremely knowledgeable in the changing landscape of breaking down barriers to learning for those pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties identified as a primary need within their EHCP.
The school has been carefully designed to provide for a wide range of pupils' needs to be addressed through educational, social, physical and emotional growth for the age range 3 to 16. This includes a wide range of specialist classrooms, halls, outdoor spaces and a hydrotherapy pool. We will continue to prepare our pupils for the wider world by offering accreditations that are relevant to our pupils' futures whilst ensuring we give the younger pupils the building blocks to set them on the right track for a successful life when they have left Watermill School behind.
It is a special privilege to serve as Executive Headmaster at Hartismere. Each and every day I see a level of commitment from staff that I have never encountered in another school during the course of my career.
