About We believe the future needs people-centred designers to make the world a better place. A brief history of Design Club 2021 2020 2019 2018 2017 2022 Slow start to the year after a pre-Christmas rise in Covid cases. With heavy (but hopeful) hearts, we made the decision to shift focus. Our new strategy is to create a curated directory of design tools for kids - products, projects and programmes that get kids doing design and design thinking. 2021 We're rebooting! Looking for Reboot Supporters to fund 2021/2022 activity. We've learned a lot from our first remote after school Design Club. And partnered with Multiverse and Future to reach new audiences, online and IRL. 2020 We started the year with new after school clubs in Coventry, Haslemere and Woking, and exciting plans for weekend clubs, but we had to hit pause due to Covid. We experimented with online delivery and invited parents to run design projects at home. Bright spots: Elsewhen ran a remote club and we got a bit of funding from Grant for the Web (which enabled us to think about how to reboot Design Club. 2019 We supported mentors to run 15 after school clubs, including the first Design Clubs outside London, in Blackpool and Dundee. You can Meet the mentors on our blog. Our weekend squad ran pop-up clubs at Science Museum, Kingston University and MozFest. Reached 500 children and had more than 800 people register an interest in mentoring. Started hosting peer-led Meetups and recognised our Super Mentors. Won funding from The Funding Network. And Growth Supporters helped us grow. 2018 We set up as a Community Interest Company in April. We're limited by guarantee, meaning all profits go back into growing Design Club. Founding supporters came on board. Reached more than 500 children through a mix of after school and weekend clubs. Ran our first mentor Meetups and got accepted as one of Makerversity's Makers with a Mission. Partnered with BMJ, WIRED and Token Dad to try new formats. 2017 We piloted our first after school Design Club. Reached over 150 children through a network of 50 volunteers. Partnered with Marvel and Moo to develop the learning experience. Partnered with CoderDojo and iOi to deliver weekend Design Clubs. Partnered with British Council to deliver Design Thinking mentor training. How Design Club is free We're a Community Interest Company limited by Guarantee This means we're a non-profit. We've raised some money through grants from The Funding Network, Mozilla and Grant for the Web. We're also backed by the design industry to inspire the next generation of design thinking. We've raised some funds through Founding Supporters, Growth Supporters and Reboot Supporters.

Established in 2016, Role Group was conceptualised by David McHugh, Managing Director, as an outcome of his extensive experience and ability to identify the requirement for skilled, reliable and experienced operatives in the construction, civils and rail industries. The Role Group team are diligent in sourcing skilled and reliable trades and labour. Our current database consists of highly skilled operatives who have been assessed via our stringent vetting processes. The skills held by our operatives are reviewed on a regular basis with training offered to those who require renewals or upskilling via our in-house training company, Role Training Ltd. As a result of our synergetic recruitment and compliance strategies, we have the ability to provide clients with multi-skilled and flexible operatives at relatively short notice. As a team of experienced recruiters, Role Group have a vast number of years’ experience under their belts. Our team are familiar with the regulations and compliance requirements that are a part of every construction project in the UK. On previous projects, we have built strong relationships with a variety of skilled tradespeople and are seen as a valued and reliable supplier within the sector. Our new training centre will be supported by an innovative booking system, that will allow our operatives to easily book the training or renewals that they require. We are currently implementing a plan to expand our order book significantly by 2022 and aim to open a Role Group and Training satellite office at a new location within the UK.

birmingham medical institute - section of psychiatry

The Birmingham Medical Institute (BMI) was founded in 1875 as a membership organization to provide a meeting place and medical library for the medical profession in Birmingham and the surrounding area. Its location moved from various sites in the city to 36, Harborne Road in 1957. Here it was joined by the West Midlands Regional office of the BMA and Local Medical Committee. It was initially a Library, then a Social Club but in 2009 became the BMI Conference Centre. Much of the activity was based upon the requirements of outside organisations for meetings, conferences and catering. From January 2016 the BMI relocated to the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. It follows, that instead of administering a building hired for the conduct of meetings etc, the activity will be solely the organisation of meetings. Coincident with this move is the change in medical postgraduate education based upon Health Education, England. There will therefore be an even greater need for the smaller medical organisations to be brought together, a role that the BMI is well placed to fulfil. In order to accomplish its mission its future activity will be concentrated upon Primary care and Public Health because secondary care education is now largely organised nationally by the Royal Colleges and Specialty Societies. Hi I am Shola Cochrane, a British Wheel of Yoga certified teacher of 7 years and hold qualifications in Physiology and Anatomy and a Degree in Counselling and Psychology. Over 30 years ago, before beginning on my yoga journey, I had many issues that haunted me from my childhood that were still affecting my life in the 'now', which I tried to ignore for many years. I woke up one morning and thought “I’ve had enough! I WANT to change how I feel." Through a dear friend, I was introduced to the calming effects of Buddhism which ultimately led me to yoga (initially Iyengar Yoga) and I was immediately hooked to both. Along with talking therapies, yoga helped me to stop focussing on the past and stressing about the future, ultimately enabling me to be more in the present moment. In those moments I found an inner peace and calmness, of which I wanted more. Years later, training and qualifying as a mental health counsellor and working within Mental Health Services for 10 years, I witnessed the long lasting physical and emotional effects of stress and anxiety on both the body and mind of the individuals I worked with. This was the catalyst for my taking a leap of faith and retraining and becoming a yoga teacher.
