Hi, I'm Skye. I’m based in Frome, Somerset and am the face behind slow stitch club. After studying fashion design at university, I graduated with a very different view of the industry, and wanted to push against it. From that point on I continued to learn and educate myself; about the vast quantities of clothing that is sent to landfill, the devastating environmental impacts of textiles production as well as the horrifying truths about garment workers and their lack of rights. The importance of caring for and extending the lives of the clothes that already exist in the world became hugely important to me, and I set out to help teach others about learning to fix their clothing through the practice of visible mending.

Deborah grew up on a Lincolnshire farm surrounded by inspirational people and places. Training originally at Leeds Metropolitan University and Berkshire School of Art and Design, she has worked extensively as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator. Her clients have included RHS, National Trust, Natural History Museum, Chatsworth House and Dunoon Mugs. Whilst developing a range of paint-by-numbers kits, an interest in making art accessible to those without specific training grew. This led to the creation of ‘Make a Masterpiece’, translating beautiful landscapes and wildlife designs into easy to achieve guided painting and craft events for adults and children. She currently lives and works in Reading as an Artist in Residence at a local school specialising in murals and running Art Clubs.

Georgia State University and The Learning Agency Lab are excited to announce the launch of the sequel to the first Feedback Prize competition– The Feedback Prize – Predicting Effective Arguments. This competition is also hosted on Kaggle, and will build on its predecessor by tasking participants with evaluating argumentative elements in essays written by students in grades 6-12 as effective, adequate, or ineffective. This competition also features a dual-prize track, with one track focusing on standard models and another track focusing on computationally efficient models. The computationally efficient track incentivizes participants to create models that are more environmentally friendly and easier to adapt to real-world educational contexts. The algorithms developed will help students receive more individualized feedback on their writing

35 Design Space is an interactive studio set up to share craft knowledge and bring creative classes to all. Our classes are hands on and we hope that you learn a new skill and have a great time doing it! We aim to provide a creative learning environment to support and inspire fellow crafters. Alongside offering current and innovative workshop classes we want to promote historical textile crafts and share these endangered crafts to encourage their revival. If you wish to arrange a private event or book a custom made session please get in touch. Our studio can accommodate parties of up to 15.
