I’m the founder of Yoga Therapy For You, a senior yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals and a Yoga Therapy Practitioner registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) I have been teaching for over 12 years and have studied with many incredible teachers throughout this time. Always a student and recently became a Sound Therapist after studying with the British Academy Of Sound Therapy. I’m passionate about promoting healing, vitality and wellbeing through the practice of yoga and sound. “I stumbled upon yoga unexpectedly” It all began because I was overwhelmed with work, working through grief, my body stiff, self esteem low, struggling with weight gain and was experiencing huge hormonal shifts. I was feeling completely lost and my health and wellbeing was deteriorating. I needed change, and so joined a gym and quickly realised it wasn’t my cup of tea! I was about to give up when I discovered yoga classes on the timetable. I remember my first class, sat on a yoga mat thinking what am I doing here, I can’t even touch my toes...never in a million years would I have known that day would change my life.. The stretching felt so good, and the stillness of my body and mind in relaxation was a welcome gift, a huge wake up call for self care!!

Becoming a first time mum was exciting but extremely overwhelming at times. The internet, books and people in general can bombard you with so much “advice” that making decisions that are right for you and your baby can make you double guess yourself! Doula’s believe in ‘mothering the mother’, they are there not only to give emotional and practical support to women, but to empower them to trust in their bodies during labour and birth along with the informed decisions they have made. I instantly knew that this was the role for me and immersed myself in everything Doula and birth related. Since 2016 I have helped and encouraged so many mamas with all sorts of antenatal and postnatal support, including birth education, breastfeeding, relaxation/massage, breathing techniques and use of a birth ball. I have attended births of every kind including home birth, hospital transfer, caesarean birth, water birth and consultant led care. I am passionate about my work and never stop wanting to learn more, which is why I attend several workshops and training courses throughout each year to keep me up to date with all things maternity and birth!

The KDS is an organisation committed to practicing and teaching Karate-do as taught by Master Mitsusuke Harada and the style is open to anyone with a genuine interest in learning karate. History The KDS was established in 1965 by Mitsusuke Harada. With his own organisation now formed, Master Harada distanced his organisation from the many political wranglings of other martial arts groups at that time. Harada Sensei, as he is referred to by his students; could now focus on the KDS, without outside influence. Therefore concentrating on the true essence of Karate-do, it’s practice. Karate is a form of self defence that does not rely on using any weapons. Karate just trains you to defend yourself using your own body movement. It is fun to learn and regular training improves your fitness and flexibility as well as your concentration and dexterity. Master Harada was awarded a 5th Dan (1956) personally by Gichin Funakoshi (O’Sensei) the founder of modern day Karate-do on mainland Japan. Master Harada has sought no higher grade since then. The grade of 5th Dan is the highest award given by the KDS. A tradition which was inherited from O’Sensei who accepted no higher than this. The KDS as an organisation, is non-profit making. Money is put back into the organisation for the betterment of its members.
