Over 20 artists occupy the evocative spaces spread over four floors of this former tobacco pouch factory situated just off of City Rd, next door to Jamie Oliver's original 'Fifteen' restaurant. the steam workshop

The Steam Workshop was formed in 2013 by Simon, or should I say,..... me,.... who having spent the previous 10 years building his Chiropractic clinic businesses in the Chester area was keen to start a new business centered around his lifelong hobby and passion for model engineering and steam. Together with my friend John, (who at that time was working as a tool-maker pattern -maker), we bought a tired 3" scale Plastow Burrell traction engine. The intention was to re-build the model as a fun project and then to sell it on at a profit to see if a workshop business centered around model engineering could be made viable. John was also re-building a 5" gauge BR Britannia for a friend at the same time, and so those two re-builds (SW Rebuilds number 1 & 2) really set the foundations for what the company has since grown into. I've been playing trains from an early age. My grandad, Geoff Nicholson was well known in model engineering and steam circles, and familiar to many for his annual appointment at the Midlands ME exhibition where he would demonstrate 'dome bashing' and sheet metal work to the visitors in the workshop corner. Geoff was a lifelong and prolific model engineer, and I spent a lot of time both in his workshop and putting thousands of miles on his locos while he drank tea and chatted to everyone!

I hope you will find it interesting and will find the information you are looking for. ‘A seminary is more than a building, it is a community of formation.’ That is the starting point for the Catholic Church’s understanding of seminaries. St Mary’s College has existed as a formation community for 226 years. It has been in its present location for the last 182 of those years. Formation takes place here in many different ways: but for the sake of convenience we divide those ways into four main strands. They are pastoral, spiritual human and intellectual. You can read about each of those areas by clicking here if you would like to know more. Even though we are much more than a building we are very proud of the buildings the seminary inhabits. You will see many photographs of them on the website and you will also find various ways that you could visit us. You would be very welcome. We are also proud of our seminarians and our permanent deacons in formation. You can read about their experiences on the website, as well as their hopes for the future ministries they will have in the Church in the different dioceses and religious congregations who choose to use us to help form their future deacons and priests.

We are located on the high street in the idyllic village of Chobham, Surrey. Our shop is inside a beautiful 16th century building with the most amazing baker’s ovens at the back! Yes we have ovens at the back of our shop not working I don’t think... anyways their listed part of the building and beautifully untouchable. Being built in the 16th century our shop has very low ceilings (be sure to duck) and many different parts to it, the shop goes back very far giving us a lot of working space and you a lot of browsing space. There has been a flower shop located on Chobham High Street for over 15 years it has been in the hands of what I believe to be 3 different florists, I (Lizzie) purchased Chobham Flowers in October 2019 and am so very grateful to have become a part of the most supportive and kind community that Chobham is. We are a beautiful fun loving group of florists, who love to chat away in the shop making beautiful bouquets for our wonderful customers sending them out all over surrey to be delivered to big smiley faces. Our styles are all unique but we all have one thing in common FLOWERS! Lots of beautiful flowers in all shapes, sizes, colours and forms. With years of floral experience we love creating anything and everything we get our hands on so don’t be shy with your creative ideas.

Since its inception in 1977, Playpen has come a long way to be transformed into one of the leading English Medium Schools of Bangladesh. Playpen was founded by the prominent Educationalist Mrs. Zeba Khan. Although it saw a humble beginning as a Kindergarten School in 1997 – by 1998, however it had expanded Classes upto Primary Level and then went on to be transformed into High School also. In 2003, Playpen sent its first candidate to appear for the Ordinary Level Examination. Commendably, the Candidate obtained straight “A” grades in all the seven subjects he had taken and appeared for. Advanced Level Classes were introduced in the year 2013 by the School’s Honourable Chairman, Mr. A Mannan Khan. The first Batch of A’ Level Students enrolled from Playpen was in the year 2015. The establishment of Playpen’s permanent Campus was also initiated by our Honourable Chairman Mr. A Mannan Khan. This was like a dream come true. Playpen was designed by the renowned Architect Mr. Ehsan Khan. The state of the art and lucrative 10 storied building, with so many breathing spaces, caught the eyes of all. Apart from having large Classrooms, spacious corridors, hallways and many other facilities, the building has a unique and breathtaking look. Mrs. Sorabon Tohura, the Principal shifted Playpen to its own campus in Bashundhara Residential Area on the 19th July 2018. AQUAnimals founder Shirley Rush started the swim school back in 2015. The swim school was hiring private pools around South Norfolk and welcomed her sister Katie to offer more lessons but found more and more that availability was limited, pools varied in cost, depth/temperature/parking availability etc yet our demand was incredibly high. In 2017 we decided to start looking for another venue that could occupy a modern, fresh swim school. We found Rookery Business Park just a mile outside Attleborough. Not only were these new well insulated buildings with solar panels supplying power, it has easy access to the A11 and pretty central for most of our existing clients. Shirley drew a sketch of the layout she felt would work and architects brought it to life in literally an hour & a half! With plans in hand and a leap of faith we applied to Breckland Council and we were a step closer to freedom! Planning permission was granted just 5 weeks after submission and 3 days later we were in the building marking the floors with what would be our changing rooms & showers! Our very own premises, state of the art pool, purpose built and all brand new. We worked really hard and were so excited to be bring lessons to life on 18th September 2017. Three months after sitting with the architect. We’ve expanded hugely since 2017; a 400% increase in numbers, we now have 7 instructors teaching 7 days a week, we provide the curriculum swimming lesson provision for four local schools, became an approved Training Centre so we can host courses & CPDs, hire the pool privately for exclusive use, holiday courses etc. And we love it! Come and join us today, make magical moments, enhance their development and learn lifesaving skills that will last forever. PETA was founded in 1970 by Alex Zemenides who, at the time, was Managing Director of component manufacturing company Sealectro. At the time, Zemenides felt there was a lack of training and development opportunities for his staff in the local area. Training that could be tailored to his staff and business, that met industry and commercial standards and that didn’t have to work around a rigid syllabus or programme. Together with five other local businesses, he created the Portsmouth Engineering Training Association – PETA – that was based in Southsea, Portsmouth. The combined vision of this group was to establish an organisation, controlled by local business, that would be free from external influences to concentrate on the training and development of people employed, or about to be employed, in industry and commerce. As such, PETA was set up to be (and still is) a registered charity, directed by an executive council of leaders elected from our member base. There are no shareholders at PETA, only stakeholders. We operate on a self-financing basis and are non-profit making, which means all our funds are reinvested into the services and training we deliver. Whilst our heritage is in engineering, today, PETA offers over 200 courses and apprenticeship programmes in the most sought after professional, digital and technical skillsets – from management training to health and safety qualifications, IT skills and engineering. Today, PETA is one of the largest and most respected training providers on the south coast and we will continue to build on this reputation, transforming careers and building the next generation of business leaders and technical experts.
