I am an artist and printmaker living in Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands. I am fashion and textiles trained (Bath Spa University and Manchester Polytechnic) which is where my love of printmaking started. I worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years as a designer. When I moved to Sutherland in 2005 I had the chance to be more hands-on creative and re-kindle my love of printmaking that had been simmering on the back burner since the early days of college. I take inspiration from my surroundings in the Scottish Highlands with its abundance of wildlife and vast range of contrasting landscapes, from the moors and mountains, waterfalls and lochs to the turquoise waters and white sands of the beautiful beaches. For a number of years I used a converted ACME mangle for producing my prints but then in 2012 I treated myself to a proper traditional etching press which is fabulous and much easier to use! My work includes various methods of printmaking; monoprint, drypoint etching, collagraph and lino cut and I also love mixed media techniques. I love the process of creating prints using different methods especially monoprints, where part of the fun is not knowing what the end result will be until the last minute. It can take hours of manipulating ink on the printing plate before they go through the press. I love experimenting and each finished piece is unique. I exhibit regularly in the Scottish Highlands including local galleries and my work is included in private collections in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand. I also teach workshops for individuals and small groups in various printmaking techniques.

This gallery features our stunning Mary, Queen of Scots statue, which was the first life-size statue of her to be commissioned in Scotland. Kids (and adults) will love the hands on interactives which include make your own medicine, design your own banner, and even a smelling interactive. In this gallery visitors can learn about the Linlithgow Marches, sports and leisure, politics, education and so much more. Key objects include Tam Dalyell's typewriter, our Waldie digital interactive and the hugely impressive Scotch Brigade banners. Our flexible space for activities, talks and film screenings. Check out what’s on. The space is available for use by local groups and currently featuring a display of historic costumed dolls, and an exhibition celebrating 200 years of the Union Canal. Our dedicated team of volunteers have played a critical role in delivering an ambitious activity plan. Since moving to Tam Dalyell House, volunteers have contributed over 4,000 hours of their time. They have researched, documented, conserved and photographed the collection, conducted oral history interviews, taken part in archaeology digs, planned school sessions and developed activities for young people. We've run an animation project with St Josephs and Low Port Primary Schools. Bridgend Primary co-curated our first community exhibition. Springfield, Linlithgow and Linlithgow Bridge Primary Schools have delivered drama and song writing performances in the museum. We’ve delivered reminiscence, oral history programmes, community film showings and much, much more. Littleover Taekwon-Do is a family orientated Taekwon-Do club which took up it’s independent status in 2007. We teach ITF Chang Hon style Taekwon-Do and we are part of Authentic Taekwon-Do England. Authentic England is registered with International Chang-Hon Taekwon-Do Federation (ICTF). We are also registered with the British Martial Arts & Boxing Association. Costs We are not a business and try as much as possible to keep training costs to a minimum. Family groups are encouraged to attend. Our current fees can be seen here. We collect payment monthly, in advance, via bank transfer. We ask students to commit to the full month. This helps us manage the class size cost effectively, and regular attendance is essential to making progress. Some fees (e.g. grading fees) are collected via Spond. Sparring equipment is essential for protection when you start sparring. Students are permitted to spar after successfully passing their first grading. See our equipment list for more information. We strongly recommend purchasing gear from Academy Sports in Derby. When you visit Academy Sports please let them know you are attending Littleover Taekwon-Do so they know to provide the appropriate gear. We don’t receive any commission. If sparring kit is purchased from elsewhere we can’t guarantee it will be acceptable for use within LTKD. Please check with us first. Doboks (the white suits we train in) are ordered via your instructor.

Whether you are from the public or private sector, from a charity, a museum, art gallery or heritage organisation we can offer you training, facilitation and coaching so you can… Storytelling is all about communication. It’s inbuilt, so why not learn to use it to your advantage to turn ideas into actions and outcomes? We met at university at the tail end of the last millennium, on a theatre studies BA. Josh then worked with vulnerable adults for a housing association, whilst developing his skills as a storytelling performer in museums, festivals and schools. Lily continued post graduate studies at Central School of Speech and Drama and gained an MA at Goldsmiths, while devising theatre productions as a director. Our paths crossed again on a project with young actors in Mumbai where we discovered we enjoyed working together. On our return we started to deliver open storytelling workshops as a means to develop our product and explore its uses and applications. Initially, we thought storytelling was perfect for presentation skills and museum tours. Now we also use it to investigate and build understanding with individuals and in collaborative groups as well as to grow connections, values and relationships. Ben Joiner became one of the core team in 2014. We were drawn to his in-depth knowledge and expertise in voice and body-language and his gift to comfortably take people outside their comfort zone. Over the past couple of decades, we have honed our skills and our love of training and coaching. We have stayed curious, and use that curiosity to help us adapt and evolve how we use storytelling to the benefit of contemporary working life.

Since inception in 1975, Canvey Island Swimming Club (CISC) has been competing in the world of swimming and has pupils from all local areas. Swimmers are personally trained and developed in line with Swim England Swim Plans, then fed through to the Club’s Squad Teams. Once swimmers reach Squad level, Head Coach and Teachers work closely together with members to transform them into competitive swimmers. We are a competitive club whilst encouraging younger swimmers to attend for the fitness and fun side of swimming in a Swim Club environment. All swimmers are introduced into a sporting environment where fitness along with nutrition play a vital role. CISC competes in local, regional and national swimming leagues. We swim against other clubs in and around Essex and at County level. All our swimmers develop confidence and courage to compete in races either as an individual or in team events. So, come on Canvey! From August 2011 to August 2013 – CISC temporarily moved to Runnymede whilst Waterside underwent major development work. We had no Coach and no Squads at this point. The Club provided Swim School and Swim Development lessons. Late 2013 saw the return of a Coach and Squad groups slowly built. In 2018 the full committee resigned, leaving the club in disrepair, with no Swim School Teacher and no Head Coach. Some of the parents pulled together to become the new committee, their first action was to re-employ Paul as Head Coach and Alison as Head Teacher. They revised Membership/payment/insurance costs and Teamed together to make what the club is today, a family friendly swimming club.

Restorative and relational practice is an emerging Social Science, adopted in multiple ways across the UK and beyond by Police and Crime Commissioners, Schools, Local Authorities, Health and Social Care Settings, Prison and Probation Services to address a wide variety of challenges, including: • Positive mental health and wellbeing • Organisational culture change • Staff retention and a reduction in sick leave • Improving attendance, attainment and behaviour in schools • Fostering inclusive residential environments and a reduction in re-offending In 2012, the Restorative Thinking team began delivering face to face training and coaching. In 2013 we also started to develop intervention programmes for a variety of settings and groups: prisons and probation services, schools, youth offending services, parents and carers. Our parenting programme won the CANparent Quality Mark in 2014 and our curriculum programme for primary schools won the Teach Primary Resources Award in 2019. In 2020 we began to develop e-Learning CPD, creating our own learning platform and an innovative blended learning offer for all our working partners, allowing organisations and individuals to access restorative and relational practice via: • e-Learning CPD • Consultation • Face to face training/coaching • Zoom/Teams training/coaching • Action Learning Sets • Supervisions • Guided self-study • Restorative Practice Intervention Programmes Restorative Thinking has a comprehensive offer for working with colleagues in the field of restorative and relational practice. Sands exists to reduce the number of babies dying and to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth, whenever this happened and for as long as they need support. Babies are dying every day. Currently in the UK, 13 families a day suffer the heartbreak of losing their baby before, during or shortly after birth. That’s around 4,500 babies a year. And an estimated 1 in 4 pregnancies ends in miscarriage. These numbers are shocking and show the scale of the problem. Currently, far too many babies die without scientists, doctors, midwives, or their own parents understanding why. That’s why we believe research is vital in improving our understanding of how to save babies’ lives and using that evidence to drive changes in maternity policy and practice. For more than 40 years, Sands has been here for anyone affected by pregnancy and baby loss to offer understanding and comfort through its Freephone helpline, mobile app, online community and resources, and locally through a UK-wide network of around 100 regional support groups. Sands works in partnership with health care professionals, trusts and health boards and offers a range of training programmes and bereavement care resources to ensure that every bereaved parent and family receives the best possible care wherever they are in the UK. Sands supports and promotes research to better understand the causes of baby deaths, improve maternity safety and save babies’ lives. The charity also raises awareness of baby loss and works with governments, key influencers and other stakeholders to make reducing the number of babies dying a priority nationally and locally.
