The Oxford Schools Chaplaincy is a registered charity (no. 1140387) and a member of the Evangelical Alliance. Since 2010 Oxford Schools Chaplaincy has been working in schools around Oxford, expanding from 2015, through a programme of working with and training volunteers in order to offer a wider range of activities. In 2019, we delivered 50 lessons to 1,220 students; provided assemblies to over 800 students, as well as supported Christian groups in 6 schools and organised teacher support events. We have 50 people who have volunteered from 23 churches around Oxford. In 2020/21, we worked to support teachers and students during lockdown, and Coronavirus restrictions. We were able to offer online lessons and assemblies, support teachers in running online Christian Unions, and offer practical and emotional support to teachers and students grappling with the issues raised by the pandemic. Our trustees and patrons invest in all aspects of education and are also involved with the River Learning Trust, the Oxford Diocese and Oakhill College, as well as active in their local churches. OSC has partnered with Wycliffe Hall, OCCA, Innovista, the Oxford Diocese, BeSpace and Gideons in bringing the message of the Christian faith to schools around Oxford. Our activities include: Bespoke lessons and assemblies. Christian Unions. Bible Explorer Walk through the Bible. True Club for Year 6 girls. Teacher Support events. Volunteer training sessions.

Dance & Movement Specialist Over 25 years as dance, movement and therapy specialist. Originally trained in dance in the U.S going on to manage one of the top New York dance studios. As a 10 dance finalist (Ballroom & Latin) 3 years running, gained top teacher award for training students with disabilities to competition level. However in 2003 I was told I would be wheelchair bound within five years due to a serious back problem. It was then that I discovered the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® along with my knowledge and previous training was able to have complete recovery. With both this profound practical and emotional experience, I feel I am perhaps uniquely placed to help others looking for pain relief or rehabilitation. Using massage, movement and the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® as my building blocks I draw on a wide range of techniques from Orthopaedic massage to Somatic movement, Myofascial Release to Structural Integration as a means to bring balance and equilibrium into under-pressure physiques. Hello, and thank you for popping by. People often ask me why I do what I do. Well, in 2010 I experienced a heartbreaking bereavement to suicide. Sadly, my son’s father, lost his struggle with poor mental health. My son and I faced the challenges and adversity that came with this traumatic experience. This bereavement to suicide contributed towards experiencing a downward spiral of declining mental health. The ‘’just keep swimming’’ mantra, so prevalent in society, became unmanageable. I was drowning and recognised I needed HELP. While researching my way back to good mental health, using tools such as GRM (The Grief Recovery Method ®), Mindfulness and NLP, I discovered that truly HELPful support was hard to find. My realisation that I needed help brought about a motivation to survive and thrive from my experience. I am a proactive and HELPful coach. I use my credentials as a Master NLP practitioner, Grief Recovery Method® Specialist and Mindfulness Teacher to provide an all-encompassing approach that has resulted in helping over 1000 people. My mission is to provide people with HELP that supports positive mental health and prevent other families from experiencing loss due to poor mental health. In all my coaching and training, I apply Honesty and Empathy while really Listening and giving Practical advice that makes a difference. Because it’s OK to ask for HELP.

We hold many different events, where members and potential members can get to know each other, and become involved in all sorts of interesting activities. As a charity that focuses on education and opportunities for women, we are a group of over 8,000 women in Surrey that work together for our common goals. Each WI in Surrey is a member of the Federation and they meet at least monthly to engage in a wide range of interesting activities, including clubs, groups and events. At monthly meetings members enjoy practical workshops and lectures. However, it is important that we also have the opportunity to engage outside of our individual WIs. So as a Federation, we aim to put on events in different parts of the county so that all members have the opportunity to attend. We have a presence at agricultural shows, hold workshops and have two countywide meetings each year in Dorking. Our wide variety of events ranges from literary lunches, a day out in London either for Christmas shopping or for a walking tour with a blue badge guide, fiendish quizzes, cream teas, fashion shows, down to learning new crafts such as portrait painting or willow weaving. Everything is possible and the members are encouraged to send in their ideas for the committees to consider for future events.
