Prudhoe Community High School opened in 1958 with 350 students. In September 2016, the new school building opened and the school is now a thriving, attractive and well resourced school serving the community of Prudhoe and beyond. OFSTED arrived soon after the new school opened in 2016 and the school was judged as good. Since then, the school has continued to improve in all aspects including the achievement of students. I am very privileged to lead an exceptional team of very dedicated staff who support students every day so that they can achieve their very best. Project 4 Youth Empowerment (P4YE) is a Community Interest Company born by four friends who became tired of constantly speaking about issues impacting young people negatively, so they decided to do something about it. Concerned about the number of young people involved in, or on the verge of criminality, unemployed, or not in education or training, our team decided to try to change the narrative by dedicating tailored programmes for young people. We assist young people and families by offering a range of support such as group and 1:1 mentoring, online workshops, case study workshops, a weekly youth club, advocacy, and signposting to other professional services. Prevention, intervention, and diversional work is at the forefront of what we do and what we aim for with our young people. We have been trained in Conflict Resolution and mediation and work to resolve instances that can often lead to situations of serious youth violence by using our bespoke methods. Our team has many years of experience of working with young people in a variety of settings such as youth work, teaching, specialised gang work, outreach work and working with young people with special educational needs (SEN). We also have experience in leadership, project management and media and we use our skill sets when developing projects and programmes.

Her consultancy experience spans Local Authorities, the NHS, Public, Private and 3rd Sector. She is an experienced and effective Executive Coach. She delivers specific programmes in stress management, team building, coaching and effective working relationships underpinned by a strong ethos in strength focussing and asset building. Her work takes her all over the country. Jo is an ILM accredited Executive Coach. She has an first degree BSc in Sociology and Applied Social Sciences from Buckinghamshire University, and a MA in Leadership and Management from Birmingham University. She has a Diploma in Practice Mentoring Assessment. Jo is also qualified with a Level 3 Award in Education and Training (PTLLS). Jo is a highly qualified professional with a wealth of experience in working with a wide range of people.

Set up with Sino-Scottish Government backing and partnered with Fudan University in Shanghai, the centre was established under an initiative taken by Hanban – the Chinese Government department responsible for promotion of Chinese language overseas. Objectives The Confucius Institute for Scotland is one of more than 450 Confucius Institutes around the world. The principal remit for Confucius Institutes is the promotion and development of Chinese language and culture. Each institute determines its own programme of activity based on market conditions. The key objectives for the Confucius Institute for Scotland are: to help develop effective Sino-Scottish business, cultural and academic links to offer an extensive programme of Chinese language training to act as a bridge between Scotland and China, aiding understanding and facilitating engagement to be a major point of reference for Sino-Scottish relations in the areas of education, business and culture to work with other stakeholders to develop greater awareness of China in Scotland The Confucius Institute for Scotland also builds on existing links within the University of Edinburgh to various academic and cultural institutions in China. The experienced staff at DLC Training in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, have been providing high quality, certified safety training courses for over 25 years. Our company was started by a group of instructors who wanted to do something different: focus on smaller, more responsive classes, and provide important, but less popular and underserved courses. As well, one of our key goals was to provide a training environment for students to learn at their own pace. Things have evolved over time. We have taught courses that are near and dear to the hearts of our instructors, and have allowed instructors to develop and perfect their courses and teaching skills. Along the way we tried not to reinvent the wheel. We’ve become certified Canadian Red Cross training partners and work with the Canadian Safety Council to train our defensive driving, babysitting and home alone courses. We maintain high standards by having actual teachers help do the training. Our director of training has 2 Masters of Education degrees. Early on we realized that there was a need for people to be able to acquire their certifications or licensing in many fields. This led us to becoming a partner with Prometric, a world leader in technology-enabled testing and assessment solutions. We have thus created a computer lab to allow for a secure proctored environment. We went one step further and started another lab for others.
