symposia wine
London
IN ANCIENT GREECE, THE SYMPOSIA… ...was the gathering of those whom would sit,
drink wine and philosophise, but mostly drink wine. Wine at the time was
typically diluted with water and the Symposia was led by the Symposiarch, a part
sommelier, part conductor type who would control the strength of wine, somewhat
by the intensity of the conversation (or vice-versa). One could say this ethos
hasn't changed much in the centuries since. The Symposia you have discovered
here follows the same vein, wine and the philosophy of it. As part of my wine
education I have been keeping my own tasting notes on which ever wines take my
fancy. Whilst there is no shortage of wine writers, reviews, tasting notes and
the like available, I thought sharing my journey could not only help others
undertaking a similar adventure to my own but also new comers to the world of
wine appreciation. Even the professionals might get a laugh or two. As a hint, I
would suggest you start with the “About Me”, “Note about Notes” and “Story about
Stories” sections so you know what you’re getting yourself into and if you’re
still interested, feel free to browse around.
