PQA is a dedicated performing arts school with classes for children and young adults in Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre (singing & dancing) and Film & Television.OUR STORY Pauline and her husband Steve opened their first Academy when they couldn't find anything that ticked all the boxes for their son, Charlie. They wanted to be able to provide performing arts tuition that was enjoyable, fun and would build children’s confidence. More importantly, they wanted to help young people to pursue their life's dreams, whatever those dreams may be, using drama to help children realise their potential and blossom into confident young people. To Pauline and Steve, the performing arts is more than just singing and acting and they wanted to reflect that at PQA. They therefore created a performing arts school that covers the entire arts spectrum, including lessons in Comedy, Drama and of course Film & TV. When 130 students turned up for the opening of the first PQA Academy, they knew they were onto something! Over 15 years later, PQA has more than 200 Academies nationwide and is the largest provider of Film & TV education for young people in the UK.

The C2C Teaching Alliance was formed in March 2013 and is a Multi-Alliance teaching school committed to providing excellent teaching and learning opportunities for all. We have successfully developed ITT enabling School Direct students to work within the Alliance. We are also an appropriate body for NQT’s offering quality support and training for NQTs across Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire. Furthermore, we have developed the school to school support that we offer and are engaged in supporting a number of schools and have a good track record of the impact of that support. We also offer a wide range of CPD, including English, Maths, PE, Phonics and Senior leaders. Our most recent addition to this is training for recently Qualified Teachers showing leadership potential. IN ANCIENT GREECE, THE SYMPOSIA… ...was the gathering of those whom would sit, drink wine and philosophise, but mostly drink wine. Wine at the time was typically diluted with water and the Symposia was led by the Symposiarch, a part sommelier, part conductor type who would control the strength of wine, somewhat by the intensity of the conversation (or vice-versa). One could say this ethos hasn't changed much in the centuries since. The Symposia you have discovered here follows the same vein, wine and the philosophy of it. As part of my wine education I have been keeping my own tasting notes on which ever wines take my fancy. Whilst there is no shortage of wine writers, reviews, tasting notes and the like available, I thought sharing my journey could not only help others undertaking a similar adventure to my own but also new comers to the world of wine appreciation. Even the professionals might get a laugh or two.
