Canbury School Limited

canbury school limited

Canbury is a happy, purposeful place of personal discovery for students aged 11 to 18. The ethos of the School is that great minds do not all think alike and we have established a reputation for delivering a first class, personalised education to students of all academic abilities. Excellent progress is made here because every young person is treated as an individual. Our recently opened Sixth Form provides the opportunity for students to continue to benefit from Canbury support in preparation for adult life and we are delighted to see them go on to university or college. However, the journey is just as important as the destination and so, from the outset, we focus on the whole child with emphasis placed on emotional and social development as well as academic achievement. We are committed to ensuring that our students are prepared for the future – able to step forward to take their place in the world. In our last inspection, it was noted that, “Pupils throughout the School persevere to solve problems supported by teachers and learning support assistants who establish high expectations and promote a ‘can do’ attitude”. As a relatively new school, founded in 1982, Canbury is able to adopt a progressive approach to teaching and learning, taking our cue from best practice and research. This ‘clean slate’ means that we are not hidebound by tradition; rather, we are able to create the most meaningful opportunities for our students, led by their strengths, needs and skills. We are proud of our broad curriculum, the wide range of qualifications we offer and the support we are able to provide through small group teaching and, where appropriate, specialist therapists or learning support assistants. All of this is delivered by dedicated and expert staff, underpinned by an exceptionally strong pastoral approach that places the young person’s wellbeing front and centre.

The Avenues Youth Project

the avenues youth project

London

Our mission is to give hope and opportunities to children and young people in West London, so they fulfil their potential and leave prepared and excited for adult life. The Avenues team of youth professionals provides a safe, caring, youth-led space in a disadvantaged inner-city area, where young people can learn, develop and build towards a brighter future. Open-access after-school and holiday programmes take place in our purpose-built youth centre in North Westminster. Activities encompass sport, healthy cooking, music, art, dance, radio, skills development and career pathways. Delivered by our experienced team, the work is child-centred and promotes enjoyment, collaboration and individually tailored support towards personal development. Young people are encouraged to become volunteers, participate in social action, and to use their voices to share their ideas, opinions and needs, which in turn helps us shape the youth programmes. We are committed to the highest quality of youth work and in 2021 we were awarded the Gold Level London Youth Quality Mark. This is the badge of excellence for our sector, a quality assurance programme co-delivered with UK Youth and recognised by City and Guilds, local authorities and funders. The Avenues is one of London's leading youth centres. The Avenues team of youth professionals welcomes young people from every community in West London to a fun, creative space where you can discover new passions, skills and friends. Our purpose-built centre on Third Avenue, W10 has a sports hall, dance studio, music recording studio, radio room, training kitchen and art studio. Membership is free for 8 to 18-year-olds and all our activities are free-to-use. Come and see for yourself, and unlock your real potential.

We provide robust methodologies, frameworks, playbooks and skills to manage and win complex business-led sales. There are many terms used for describing this kind of sale – consultative, collaborative, challenger and strategic selling for starters. Each has its own nuance – but what our clients are looking for is a way of selling that fits with their market and their business to deliver the results they're looking for. We have honed a customisable, proven framework for complex B2B sales environments. Unlike many other methodologies we adapt to you and your market. And we know the tech B2B world really well. That's what our clients value - we know how to make a difference in the real world where we have to start with where you are and work with what you have. It's rarely neat joined-up textbook stuff with unlimited resources and funds. Your company story is always evolving and where you are today is a product of that. We work with you to implement a measurable, repeatable, scalable structure and consistent sales skills that you can truly and easily integrate into your business to grow your revenues. Our clients are mostly in IT, telecoms, SaaS, specialist and complex technical sectors. Some span the globe, others focus purely on a domestic market. Some sell direct, others through channel, many sell through both. We know how these kinds of businesses work and how to make a difference quickly in a way that lasts. Take a look around our site and our practical sales guides to learn more about how we work and the results we deliver. Want to know what working with us is like? We are ambitious in our goals and the way in which we help those affected by domestic abuse. To tackle the root cause of domestic abuse we work directly with individuals who are being abusive. We make it our mission and our focus to identify the complexities behind violent, coercive and controlling behaviour to end the cycle of domestic abuse and reduce repeat victimisation. Too often the value of a perpetrator led approach is overlooked in favour of victim services due to the lack of evidence and lack of funding. Our decades of experience working with perpetrators, and subsequent results, has reinforced the belief that people can change. We have access to, and intelligence on, perpetrators outside of criminal justice that no other agencies have, enabling us to measure success rates as well being the first to intervene to ensure victim safety. We know that responding to domestic abuse is a challenge across all frontline services and we can’t do this alone. We work with a range of stakeholders across the voluntary and statutory sector to deliver what we know works. We are fortunate to have excellent partnerships with those sharing our passion to make a difference, no matter how hard it seems. We strongly believe the current criminal justice response to offenders needs reviewing. If we are to address the vulnerabilities associated with offending , and ultimately reduce offence rates, it requires a significant shake up. To that end we are not afraid to test new approaches evident in our innovative criminal justice interventions and the programmes we offer young adult offenders to consider their choices. We are currently exploring a trauma informed response to working with females in the criminal justice system.

Blueprinted

It’s obvious to us that diversity problems won’t be solved by panel discussions or in echo chambers. And so we designed The Blueprint mark. Its purpose is simple: to help talented Black, Asian, Mixed Race and Ethnic Minority pros get the careers they deserve, and to help organisations genuinely committed to diversity to benefit from their talent. In 2018 and 2019 we brought together two genuinely diverse groups to work together to come up with solutions to the PR industry’s diversity problem. They included rising stars and powerhouses with incredible careers. They included in-house pros and agency heads, crisis comms specialists and an award-winning creative. There was a Mum of twins, an ex-soldier, a counsellor and a councillor. A D&I specialist, a healthcare policy expert, a disability campaigner (with great hair!) and a kick-ass HR director. There was a born and bred Mancunian, a Scot, Nigerians, a Jamaican and even someone from the exotic land of Leamington Spa. In mixed groups they were introduced to a number of harrowing case studies based on the experiences of people working in PR and comms and ran through a series of exercises. They leaned into the uncomfortable, they laughed, they listened and they worked. Through those workshops, The Blueprint was born. And those incredible individuals? They serve as advisory board members (meeting three times a year and shaping our work) and consultants (on hand to provide an additional steer). As for day-to-day? The Blueprint is delivered by Blueprinted, a company with purpose led by founder Elizabeth Bananuka and Project Manager Olivia Danso, with the support of NEDS Anouchka Burton and Daljit Bhurji. Profits from The Blueprint are used to support the work of BME PR Pros.

Baby Swimmers & Swimmers Academy - Swimming Lessons

Pudsey

Baby Swimmers was founded in Yorkshire in 2004 by Tracy Margo after attending similar classes with her first baby. She found them so beneficial and enjoyable that she was inspired to set up her own classes to teach little ones water safety skills, and their parents the enjoyment of bonding with their baby in the water. From just one small class, today we teach over 500 children every week across North & West Yorkshire through our team of incredibly talented and passionate swim teachers. And in 2019, we were thrilled to be crowned winners of the What’s On 4 Kids ‘Most Loved Sport or Physical Activity award’. There are lots of reasons why baby swimming is good for your baby (and you, too!). You can read more about the benefits of baby swimming, and why it’s important to get them happy and confident in the water as soon as possible. Here at Baby Swimmers, we understand that children develop differently, which is why all our lessons are child-led to ensure little ones are taught and developed at their own pace. Once your child is older and confident in the water they’ll progress to our Swimmers Academy, where we’ll focus on improving their stroke technique, stamina and survival skills, including lifesaving awards. Our mission is to get children in the water and confident as soon as possible, so whatever your child’s age or ability, we’ve a class that’s just right for them. Sing and play through our structured awards programme, and see your little one progress to a confident swimmer! Caversham Primary School

caversham primary school

7RA,

We, Ruth’s family, are left devastated by the sudden loss of a lovely mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, sister-in-law and friend. She leaves a huge, aching gap in all our lives and, we know, in the lives of so many others who were lucky enough to know her. We are grateful to all our friends for their thoughts and support now and in the difficult years ahead. Ruth will be remembered as the kind, funny, confident, vivacious, caring person she was and for all that she achieved in life. We also ask those who did not know Ruth please to respect our privacy, as we come to terms with our unfathomable grief, and to consider carefully how their words and actions might impact on others. As the many tributes to her from the broader school and Caversham community attest, Ruth cared deeply not just about academic results, but also about the general well-being and happiness of the pupils and staff whom she taught and led. Caversham Primary was a very happy school under Ruth’s leadership and, despite the many challenges that always go with the role of Head, she was happy there too. Ruth was a dedicated headteacher and an excellent teacher. She loved the pupils and the staff of Caversham Primary School and was very proud to have been its Head Teacher for 12 years and previously Deputy Head Teacher for four years. Ruth was a force for good in her life, and we want her to be a force for positive change after her death too. We would urge anyone who has been affected by her death to talk about their feelings and know that help is available. Local and national helplines, advice and support can be found on the Reading Family Information Service website.
