The primary aim of our program is to help you to become a safe and authentic teaching of the Zhineng Qigong system in a western environment. The programme is a foundation from which to grow as a teacher and practitioner with the support of a growing community of other teachers and practitioners. The foundation training course that we offer started life as with the 3 Monkeys School of Qigong. As 3 Monkeys developed and eventually closed in 2022 the course developed and the Qigong Academy picked up the mantle and continued to develop and evolve the training to meet the changing needs of Qigong teachers in the modern world. We found that it was important to offer a modular range of training that enables you to work at your pace, covering the important aspects of the training in the sequence that makes sense to you. The modules that we offer cover the following key areas: “Self-cultivation” retreats that help develop your understanding and personal practice. 2 Residential Teacher Training sessions and a range of online sessions between to help you to progress through the program. Longer retreats with a greater focus on practice and living as a qigong practitioner.

Screen printing is a traditional print process that uses stencils to build up an image. The stencil is attached to a screen - a finely woven mesh attached to a frame. The image is printed by drawing a squeegee at pressure across the screen, pushing ink through the mesh onto paper in those areas not covered by the stencil. There are different ways of making stencils for screen print; the most basic are papercuts, but a more sophisticated technique uses a photostencil: the screen is coated with a light sensitive emulsion and the artwork is exposed onto it. This process allows greater detail than paper stencils, and enables photographic images and text to be used. For each colour to be printed, a separate piece of artwork needs to be created. About the studio and equipment My studio is part of Centrespace Co-operative, a block of 31 workshops and studios that also manage the adjoining Centrespace Gallery. Centrespace, formerly known as Bristol Craft Centre, took over the building, a former print works in 1977. My own studio is a light and airy space of two rooms with an additional wet room for washing out screens. One room houses the print equipment and one is for design and drawing work. The print room uses a self built exposure unit, and includes three printing stations (one tabletop setup and two vacuum beds), and marble racks for drying prints. The drawing room includes desk space for three people and a large lightbox. About the tutor Simon studied painting at Portsmouth Polytechnic and printmaking at Chelsea College of Art, where he received the British Instuition Fund for Printmaking Award. He worked in London for over a decade as a scenic painter and muralist before moving to Bristol in 2002. He holds a PGCE in Post-compulsory Education and has been teaching screen printing to all ages and abilities for over a decade. He exhibits his work regularly. Brighton Swimming School has been offering swimming lessons to both children and adults in Brighton for over 25 years, teaching over 1000 swimmers a week. Founded in 1988 by Paul Smith, Brighton Swimming School started as a small, one week intensive course that has slowly grown into the varied and successful programme you see today. Our main pool is our own, at the Brighton Swimming Centre. The swimming school provides three, twelve week terms as well as intensive courses during all school holidays. These are great for our regular swimmers and new customers, acting as a great way to boost children's swimming skills and technique. BSS has always been developed quality at the forefront and our greatest asset is our staff. Our staff are carefully selected to ensure high standards of teaching and safety, helping to promote the excellent relationship we already enjoy with our swimmers and their parents. Our teachers all hold an ASA Level 2 teaching qualification, whilst our assistants hold an ASA Level 1 qualification. Safety is central to our aims and each session is overseen by two RLSS qualified lifeguards along with a supervisor to manage poolside. All our staff are DBS checked.

Developed in 2000 by Sue Hayden, specialist teacher and Emma Jordan, specialist speech and language therapist, Language for Learning is a Worcestershire joint health and education non-profit making project managed within Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust. We provide training to the wider workforce in early years settings and schools, equipping practitioners to support children and young people effectively. Through our training for trainers programme we train speech and language therapists and specialist teachers to deliver Language for Learning training courses in their local area.

Emily is an experienced and passionate SEN and Safeguarding professional who, in a recent OFSTED report was called "Formidable" when it came to ensuring that the most vulnerable students received the support they required. Emily has been working with children and young people for nearly 20 years in a range of settings and roles. including working with vulnerable children in Children's Services,, working in a challenging inner city setting and undertaking teacher training in a special SEMH setting. About The Reformer Room The Reformer Room’s main aim is to provide high quality reformer classes which are friendly, fun and accessible for everyone. The teachers who work out of the reformer room are trained to a high standard and are passionate about bringing the benefits of pilates to as wide a range of people as possible. In a Reformer class, there is space for 4 clients. The group do not all have to be of the same ability as the springs and exercises can easily be adjusted to accommodate injury and differences in experience and ability. The teacher will provide a class that exercises the whole body, with emphasis on improving core strength, flexibility and alignment. Reformer classes offer all the benefits of Mat Pilates with the added challenge of working on a moving reformer carriage against resistance. Whether you are a beginner or an athlete, the versatility of this equipment will help you achieve a more aligned, flexible body that is strong to the core.
